Ace: Are you okay? Did she hurt you in any way?
Ace: Are you okay? Did she hurt you in any way?
She smiled a little at his concern.
Becca: Not yet. Kelsie shoved me upstairs before my stepmom saw I was home. But it's sweet that you're concerned.
Ace: Of course I'm concerned. You're my girlfriend. I'm just glad you're safe.
"Becca!!" A familiar screeching voice yelled, storming up the stairs. She hide her phone under her mattress just as Monique slammed the door open. "You little whore!" She slapped Becca hard enough to send her sprawling to the floor, cheek pulsing in pain. "Spreading family secrets to a stranger!" A good punch to the jaw, splitting her lip. "Spreading lies!" Punch to the eye which instantly swelled shut. "You bitch!" And finally, a sucker punch to the gut, making her cough blood. Monique huffed and walked out, slamming the door shut. Weak and bruised, Becca scrambled for her phone.
Becca: Actually, scratch that last statement. Daily beating achieved.
Ace: I'll go get my gun.
Ace wasn't kidding. He was a killer, or he had been close to killing was the correct statement. And if someone hurt his girlfriend… Family or not. There was gonna br hell to pay.
Becca: No, don't do that, I'm okay. A little bruised, yeah, but I'm alive. I'll be alright.
Ace: I can have my sister come pick you up, if you need. Come back to me and be safe.
Ace sighs softly. Alyssa glances at him. "You okay, little bro?" She sits beside her and he hands her his phone.
Becca: No, that'll just attract attention. It'll only make it worse. Thanks for the offer though. I think I'll just stay here.
She sighed. That wasn't the only reason she couldn't go. She also didn't want him to see her like this. As much as she hated Monique, she didn't want to imagine what her own father would do to her if someone hurt his goddess.
Ace sighed softly. "I don't know what to do, Alyssa. She's hurting and I can't do anything." He shakes his head. "This is child abuse, Ace." Alyssa says softly, rubbing his back in comfort.
She coughed, a small amount of blood spurting from her lips.
Becca: Hey…no matter what happens, I love you. You know that, don't you?
Ace: I know princess… I know. I love you too.
Ace sets his phone down and sighs helplessly. Alyssa hugs his uninjured side, "You're okay, okay?" She says gently.
The coughing got worse, more blood coming out each time.
Becca: Quick question, is the room supposed to be spinning or am I about to pass out from blood loss?
Becca: Actually, don't answer that, I won't be conscious enough to answer.
Her vision was starting to go blurry and after a minute, she collapsed to the floor, blood dripping out the corner of her mouth, her phone slipped out of her hand and under her bed.
Ace got her reply. His eyes widen. "Alyssa call thr police." He rushed out of the house, pulling a light sweatshirt over his injured torso and sprints to Becca's house.
A figure shifted from behind a curtain and the door opened. "She's upstairs. Hurry, I don't know how much time she has." Kelsie was stressed and panicked but at the same time looked exhausted.
Ace nods and rushes upstairs, finding Becca's room. He opens the door and looks at the sight. His eyes widen and he rushed to her side. What did he have to do. He heard the sirens roaring nearby. Alyssa had called the police. Thank God. He gently elevates her chest, kissing her forehead softly. "Hang on."
She coughed, stirring slightly from her unconsciousness. She was tired and hurt but the sudden darkness was making her panic.
Ace gently holds her. "Baby. Come on. Wake up. Look at me." He whispers softly.
Alyssa waves down the police, explaining the situation and then pointing out Becca's house.
Her eyes, err, eye, opened slowly. "Mmm? Ace? What happened? What are you doing here?" Her head felt like a ton of bricks and it hurt to do anything.
"You passed out, I ran here. Are you okay? You're obviously not physically…" He kisses her forehead. Just then a knock resounded through the house. The police.
Her heart stopped. "You called the police?? Are you insane??" Every bad scenario that she could imagine shot through her head.
"Alyssa called them." Ace says gently, picking her up. "We need to get you checked out. I'm worried. You were coughing up so much blood…"
As if on cue, she coughed again. "I'll be fine. It's not like it's anything I haven't dealt with on my own before." Her stubbornness would be the death of her.
Ace shook his head. "Hush. Just let me take care of you. You're hurt, and I hate seeing you hurt." He kisses her forehead. He carries her downstairs and sees the police talking with her sister.
Kelsie was panicking. "You called the damn police?? Becs, you know better!" She whisper shouted at her younger sister. "It wasn't me!" She coughed, blood dripping out of her mouth.
Ace glances at her. "I had to. I'm sorry. But child abuse is serious. My sister and I both went through it. And seeing this, I had to. I'm sorry for getting in your business. But it needs to be done." He says gently. "My sister has already vouched if you guys need a place." He says gently. "But I have a feeling you don't want to see each other hurt anymore."
Kelsie sighed. "No, they'll just send us to our mother's. Forced to move four towns away." "But at least we'll see how little Max is doing." Becca cracked a tiny smile. It had been years since she saw her little brother.
Ace looked down. As much as it hurt knowing she was moving four towns away, he didn't want her to leave him. But it came to her safety, she was more important. He kisses her forehead. "Alright. Let's get you checked out, okay?" He says gently.
"Wait, what about the twins?" "What?" "Jack and Tyler. Off at boarding school. Who won't be home until summer." "Ah shit, you're right. Maybe we can convince them to let us stay here until they get home."
He glances up, "If that's what you guys need. I live right down the street. My sister is of legal age, so she can vouch for you." He shrugs and smiles softly.
"So is Kelsie who is pushing 20 but still lives at home." "Shush you." She elbowed her little sister, making her cough blood.
