She rested her head on his shoulder, loving his warmth. "If we get in trouble, I'm blaming you." Not that she really wanted him to leave.
She rested her head on his shoulder, loving his warmth. "If we get in trouble, I'm blaming you." Not that she really wanted him to leave.
"Alright. Fair enough deal." Ace chuckles and stays beside her, smiling at her softly. "I love you." He mutters quietly.
(Sorry!! I've been at my choir concert!)
"I love you too." She muttered back, kissing his cheek. "I don't deserve you, seriously."
(You're all good love!)
He chuckles. "How do I deserve you, is the question." He replies softly, wrapping a gentle arm around her waist and kissing her forehead.
"How do you deserve a broken mess who can barely talk about her problems, much less actually deal with them? You don't. You deserve so much more." She sighed heavily.
Ace's eyes narrow. "Don't ever talk about yourself like that. Everyone has difficulties, love. But you're kind, beautiful, funny, smart, talented… If I went on the list would be endless. You're perfectly perfect to me."
"How did this happen?" She sighed quietly, more thinking out loud. "How did I go from the clean cut high school of last year to this?" She paused, rethinking her words. "Not that I find this bad! It's just…not what I expected for my life."
He kisses her cheek. "I don't know what you're going through, love. But I am always here to support you." Ace mutters quietly.
"And you." She was back to thinking out loud. "How the actual hell did I manage to catch you? I've heard so many bad stories about you and yet here we are. It seems impossible. How did I, the boring goody-two-shoes, manage to catch the eye of the toughest bad boy in town?"
Ace smiled a little, "I guess because I like goody two shoes. Especially if they're as cute as you." he mutters, squeezing her hand. He kissed her cheek. "Besides, most of those stories are made up. Like the one where I choked a man with his own mustache and a grape."
She giggled softly. "I never believed that one. Thought it was, I don't know, trying too hard. I was the only one of my friends that thought it sounded a bit too made up."
He laughed. "Yeah. But I'm not afraid to kick ass… I sent a dude to the hospital once." He smiled faintly and kissed the others cheek lovingly.
"Surprised that my stepmother wasn't added to the list. Even though I was fine and could've dealt with it on my own." There she was. This stubbornness would be the death of her.
He smiled, "There's the Becca I know." He says softly. His eyes narrow. "You just had to say the word and I would have taken her down, you know that right?" He brushes some hair from her face.
"I didn't need help. I was fine." Though it would've been nice to see. She sighed quietly. "I was fine." She said it more to herself than to him, like she was trying to convince herself of it.
He knew that it wasn't best to argue so he kissed he forehead and held her close. "I'm just glad you're okay." He whispers gently brushing some hair from her face.
"Oh trust me, she's done worse. Once spent 2 days unconscious because, pardon my irony, I was nearly beaten to death. Kelsie fully believed I was dead."
He held her. "I will never let her near you again." He says quietly, kissing her forehead. Ace rests his head on her shoulder and looks up at her. "I will always protect you."
She smiled faintly. "That's sweet of you." Let's hope no one uses that against you though.
Ace smiled as well and held her close. No one will ever hurt you again. I promise… He swore mentally to himself as he ran a hand through her hair.
"Okay, you should really go. The nurse'll be pissed if she sees you in here." She didn't want him to go but she knew he should.
He nods and sighs. "Alright… but I'm going to come and check on you every once and a while, and a nurse can't stop me." He mutters softly, kissing her cheek.
"Trust me, I don't want you to go either. But it'll cause less of a headache if I don't have to listen to her yell at you."
He nods and kisses her cheek. "I'll be right back." He mutters quietly. He stands and kisses her forehead before walking out and talking to a nurse. They exchange words before he returns to her. He smiles, and kisses the other. "She said we can share a room." He says quietly.
She smiled brightly, her day suddenly ten times better. "Really? Yay!" And there's the childish side. Right on cue.
He nods and smiles softly, kissing her shoulder. "Yep. I'm here to stay." he mutters, settling beside her and smiled warmly. "She also said we could go home in a day or so."
"Good, I hate this place. Always smells like death and sadness." She glanced around the small room before laying her head on his chest.
"I know." He holds her as he runs a hand through her hair. "I could not agree more." He mutters quietly, smiling warmly at her. Ace looks out the window and smiled a little.
"Miss?" She glanced at the doorway to see a nurse. "Yes?" "You have a visitor." "Oh? Bring them in." She stepped aside and in came a face she hadn't seen in at least two years. "Jake?" "Hey doll." He winked at her, standing next to her bed. "What are you doing here?" "Came to see a friend of mine who was in an accident and heard you were here too so I figured I'd come check up on you."
Ace stood up and looked at the other. "Hello, Jake." He says simply, kissing Becca's forehead before turning to greet the other male, shaking his hand. "How are you?" He asks.
