Citra's blackflame fire blazed suddenly, crackling merrily. "It's stroked." She said Zol, yawning ever so slightly. She stretched from the tight ball she had been sleeping in and waved another hand over the fire so it burning a bit hotter. "Should be good to use now."

Piper backed away from the fire and sat on the cool ground, waiting for the fish to cook. Her stomach grumbled, and she held a hand to it, willing it to stop.

Zol stood up and raised his hands.
“May we ask the Creator for a blessing on this food. We ask for safety on our journey, that our food and drink do not fail, and protection for all who would hurt us. We ask that we may once more come back to our homes, and for the chance to use our gifts for the glory of righteousness.” He sat down cross legged and began to eat nonchalantly.

Piper took a plate from Zol, and stared at him while he said the prayer. It held most of the basic stuff, and she had the decency to not start to eat while he was doing his thing. "Thanks for that little tidbit there, Zol," she said through a mouth full of food.

Citra almost giggled at Zol's show of devoutness. She was fascinated by him, but the gods already knew their subjects were thankful for food, there was no need to remind them at every meal. Still, respectfully, she did not eat while he prayed and waited until he had taken his first bite before proceeding. "Does your God have a name?" She asked him quietly

She nodded solemnly, her eyes wide. "What is it like to have a singular God? Do you not think the others would get jealous of your attentions?"

Citra wondered how it could e possible to follow the will of only one God. It seemed preposterous. "And your robes? A symbol of your faith?" she asked reaching out to touch one of the folds with a finger.

He watched her hand touch him. “Where I come from this is an attire worn by many people, though the specific ones I have are the robes of a disciple of the Althalosian Brothers. They raised me from my youth up until now.” He looked ahead into the distance, lost in some memory. “They have taught me all I know about God and power, and love, and service to others.”

Citra continued to feel the fabric slide between her fingers, humming in response to what Zol had said. She was a bit envious of his life of being accepted truly for who and what he was. Realizing that she was still touching him, she jerked her hand back, mumbling an apology and blushing wildly. The blackflame fire flared in response, reaching towards her.

"No. No no. My goodness. I'm sorry. I was touching you without your permission!" For the first time Citra did not speak in a low voice and her eyes met his bright with embarrassment. "Please accept my apology." she bowed formally as per custom of her people, waving quickly at the flame to calm it down.

(It's cute. I love it!)

Citra blushed as she looked up at Zol again, wringing her hands. She wanted to keep speaking to him, but was unsure of what to say. "Your home sounds wonderful." she blurted out.

Her eyebrows flicked up in surprise. "An interesting choice of adventure for the first time out of your temple." Citra said, tilting her head to the side as she studied him.

“Well,” he amended, “I have been sent out for supplies a few times. But,” he took a deep breath, “they told me it was time to go, and so I went. They said on this journey I will take the first steps in complete mastery of my Power.”
He opened his hand letting a soft glow dance over his palms.
“They said- they said I shall be great. Yet that when I come back I must leave them and always be journeying. Until my destiny is fulfilled.”
