“Oh. My villiage talks of spirit guides, you gain then on your journey and they never leave your side until the day the great mother reclaims your soul….they are your greatest friend! Tell me you know of them?”
”I have heard of created beasts that do your bidding. Is this what you speak of?”
Spirits?….. thought Frost curious and a little scared, "So where do we go from here?" she asked the group, wanting to stay away from the topic of otherworldly beings,
“Where I’m from, they don’t really do our bidding per say, they’re like partners. An earthly counterpart to your soul.”
To frost, she said “I’m not really sure, but It’s more about the journey, I think.”
Frost nodded, shacking off her uneasieness on the topic of spirits, Come on Frost, they cant be like the ONE youve encountered before! she told herself, "Well it is getting a bit dark, so should we find shelter? or make camp here?" she asked
"Well," Piper pointed down the hill where an open cavern resided. "we could camp there for the night. It'll be a bit cold and dark, but at least it's shelter for the night." She shrugged. Piper didn't care where they went, as long as there was water she would be fine.
Frost nodded looking for agreement for the others
Mari’s face fell. I can’t stay the night in a cavern…..but I don’t want to make a scene with these people I’ve barely met She just shrugged “Uh, anything’s alright with me”
"We should probably get going then," she nodded towards the lowering sun. "unless you want to fight some monsters."
Zol began to walk down the hill.
"Monsters?" asked Frost as she followed the others….
“Fear not.” Zol said comfortingly, “I believe we have power enough among us to dissuade any creatures of night.”
Citra had remained quiet as they walked, thinking over the conversation they had about spirit guides. The Eldar had told her that she was unworthy of such an honor as a hybrid, so she wasn't expecting one to come hopping her way. She sighed, peeking up around her at the group she had just fallen into, her eyes lingering on the robes of the strange boy. She wanted to tell them that she didn't mind building a fire for them to stay warm, but she remained quiet. She'd never had friends before and this seemed like an odd way to make them, but she had no where else to go and who doesn't love an adventure?
Piper glanced around, meeting the eyes of everyone while they walked down to the cavern. She shivered. Sure, she thrived in the cold, but that was in the ocean. Up here on earth, it was different. "Does anyone know how to make a fire?" she asked.
Citra cleared her throat. "That would be me I suppose." She said softly, looking at the ground.
Zol looked at Citra. “Then please do. It seems some of our companions suffer from the cold.”
"If we can find a lake of sorts, I can have some fish appear and we can also eat." Artemis said.
“Zol rose. “Shall you require any assistance?”
Mari was still feeling tense, terrified of spending the night in a closed in cavern. “I can make it rain, if that helps.” She said
Citra stared at him for a moment, a blush tinting her cheeks, before twirling her hand so that a thin black flame encircled the group as they walked. The air around them warming nicely. "It won't hurt you if you touch it." Citra said to them. "It only burns when I tell it to."
“Zol rose. “Shall you require any assistance?”
"That is up to you, I can just sense any moving object in the water and lift it up." Artemis explained
"Thanks." Jemi said. She was quiet for most of the way and was lost in thought. She still didn't completely trust them but they would help in her journey.
Frost watched the flames encircle her, She summoned her own fire in a ring around her to keep it at a distance. It wasnt that she didnt trust the user, she just didnt trust dark magic she wasn't familiar with
Zol inclined his head to Citra as he had been taught. “Many thanks.” He touched the black flame. “What strange magic.” He marveled.
For the first time in a long time, Citra smiled. Maybe…Maybe this won't be so bad.
Zol let his hand fill with light and flow into his staff, illuminating the path in the dark.
Piper gulped. Fire was good and all, but she did not like it so close. She scooted away from the fire, only noticeable to the watching eye. "We might want to hurry up then; no one knows what's in these hills." her voice was slightly shaky, but her words rang strong.
“True enough.” Zol said. His voice was just a little unsteady, “I would prefer we reach some kind of safely for the night.”
"Does anyone have earth-based powers? If so, once we're all inside with the food and fire we need, we can close off the entrance once we're set for the night." Piper said, looking around the group. She couldn't quite remember who had which powers; it all blurred together.
"I dont have earth powers but I can produce ice if that helps…" said frost
