“Where are you going?” asked Zol.
“Where are you going?” asked Zol.
Piper turned around, almost sheepishly. "I just wanted to get some food, that's all." she sent him a half-smile and rocked back and forth on her heels awkwardly.
Mari opens one eye. “Oh, you guys are awake! Are we going to get breakfast?”
Piper glanced at Mari. "Well, we could, and have the food ready by the time the other's wake up." She then shrugged. "Or whatever you guys want to do. It doesn't really matter to me."
“There is a way out.”Zol showed her the small hole they used for the watching the night before. “It was hard to see on purpose.”
“I agree,” said Zol. “Let us not disturb our comrades.”
“Sounds fun!” She stood up with all too much enthusiasm for so early in the morning, and shook all the water out of her hair. “Let’s gooooooo”
Piper blushed, and mentally facepalmed herself. How could I be so stupid? "Thanks," she mumbled, not meeting his eyes. Not waiting for a response, she climbed out of the hole and started to walk down to the nearest body of water, hopefully to catch some fish.
Zol thought for a second. “One of us should stay behind. We would not wish for them to wake with our disappearance without explanation. I will if you so desire.”
“Hold on, I got this.” Mari grabbed a stick and wrote we went to get food, don’t flip out -XX mari “Okay, all done”
Now it was Zol’s turn to feel embarrassed. “Of course.” he said quickly. “I should have thought of that.”
Already down at the shore, Piper sat in the shallow end, not caring if her clothes got wet. They can always dry later.
Putting her hands in the water, she whispered in the Ocean's language, summoning fish to come to her. The waves grew bigger, and the more she spoke, the more her eyes filled with a dark blue, almost black color. She blinked, and a pile of fish (hopefully not poisonous) sat beside her. Piper stretched her arms. Speaking with Her always gave her aches.
Mari’s eyes widened. “That’s amazing! Cool!”
Zol’s eyes were wide. “I have never heard of speaking to the waters and her obeying ones will before.”
Startled, Piper quickly turned around and stood up, the water at her feet going back to their normal rhythm. Seeing as it was just Mari and Zol, she relaxed her position and rubbed the back of her neck. "Thank you. But it's not really Her 'obeying' my orders, She's just granting me favors." Piper drew back her shirt sleeve to show her left arm sprinkled with tiny starfish tattoos. "See? This is how I, and Her, keeps track of them."
Zol nodded slowly. “I believe I understand.”
Piper pulled down her sleeve and scooped up the pile of fish. "Yeah, it's actually quite easy to repay the debts, but my cove still doesn't take them lightly. Debts are a great deal." She adjusted her arms, and then looked at Zol and Mari. "Ready to go?"
“I am if you are.”
(Idk what to do with Artemis)
Piper grinned. "Alright, let's go." She started to walk back to the cavern, hoping the other two were following her.
Frost watched as the others made their way back with the fish, Frost berated herself for losing track of time and staying up half the night, but in truth she didn't mind much. When the others got closer she got to her feet, shifting as she did so, "I hope you dont mind but id like to find my own breakfast," she said,
Zol didn’t bat an eye. “Of course,” he said, “Go, and enjoy your meal.”
Frost nodded before breaking into a dead run down the hill and shifting half-way down running headlong to the trees to hunt.
Zol, Piper and Mari go into the cave and deposit the fish next to the fire.
Frost slowed to a lope, and then a walk, padding through the trees, after a while she smelled rabbit. tracking it she made the kill, starving she tore into its flesh. 15 minutes later she finished, tracking down a nearby stream she cleaned her paws and fur, wading out she shifted and washed her hair too, not bothering to undress while she was at it. another 10 min and she set her pace at a lope, headed back towards the others.
(I didnt bother going into the details of her hunt because i wasnt sure if blood/gore was alright. and truast me this is norm for her and most of my characters.)
"Okay," Piper said, wiping her hands on her jeans. Fish sure are slimy… "Who's good at cooking?"
(Where are you guys?)
Zol sat forward. “I’m not very good at it, but I can cook a little.”
(we're in the cave)
"Better than me, I'm as good as trash," Piper joked. "Have a go at it."
Zol looked around. “Can anyone stoke the fire?”
