He kissed her cheek.

She hummed softly and kissed his cheek in return.

He looked at her, rubbing her back gently.

She smiled up at him, leaning into his touch.

He kept rubbing her back.

”That feels good.” she said softly.

He smiled at her. "Good." He replied softly.

She smiled happily as her eyes fluttered.

He kissed her cheek softly.

”I love you.” she sighed quitely.

He looked at her carefully. "I…"

She opened her eyes and looked up at him softly. She didn't want to pressure him.

He looked at her, taking a deep breath.

”Yes?” she asked softly, almost whispering, encouraging him to finish his sentence.

He let out the breath slowly.

She looked up at him. ”It’s ok. I know it's not very smart, especially to say it but… and with our lifestyles making everything dangerous in general, this is… kinda crazy for lack of a better word but I do love and care about you, Killian.” she said gently, placing her hand on his cheek.

"I…I can't." he said slowly, eyes flickering away.

”Can’t what?” she asked calmly, though her heart started to sink.

He shook his head a little. "I.."

”What is it?” she almost whispered.

"I can't. I'm sorry."

She swallowed. ”Whatever it is, you can tell me.” she managed not to stammer. ”Chances are I’ll forgive you.”

He shook his head a little bit. "I…"

”Take your time.” she said gently. Whatever it was he was having trouble saying, she wanted to hear it… Even if it ended up hurting her.

"I shouldn't…love." he replied slowly, looking down at his hands instead of at her.

”Why not?” she asked, a little confused. Something told her that he wasn't saying that because of him being a villain.

"I have too much of my father in…me, and…" he shook his head a little bit.

”And… you're scared? Of becoming like him?” she guessed, speaking gently.

He nodded a little bit, looking at his hands still.

”Killian.” she started softly as she took his hands in hers. ”You won't end up like him. The fact that you're so worried about it is proof of that to me. Remember, I met him once and I can confidently tell you that you are not like him. You're so gentle and kind, especially to me, and I can't imagine him treating anyone that way.”
