Melissa sighed softly, nodding just a bit. "Alright, alright… just- tell me if you can't take it. I know you can handle a lot, but sometimes you just need a break."
Melissa sighed softly, nodding just a bit. "Alright, alright… just- tell me if you can't take it. I know you can handle a lot, but sometimes you just need a break."
Lucas nodded as well. "I will, Mel… but I can take it. Trust me, I can. I want to be able to help you too."
"I know you do, love…" Melissa sighed softly, running a hand through her hair. "Love you…"
"I love you too…" Lucas kissed Melissa gently and huddled closer to her, drawing in a wavering breath.
Melissa grew quiet, listening to whatever sounds were around. "You alright?" She asked softly, after a couple of minutes of silence.
"Yeah, m'alright… still a little shaky, but otherwise fine. We should probably head back soon." Lucas looked up from Melissa's shoulder.
Melissa pouted a little, sighing softly. "Yeah, probably… do we want to get up now?" She asked softly.
"Sure." Lucas got to his feet, stretched, and held his hand out to Melissa to help her up onto her feet.
Melissa sighed softly, taking his hand to pull herself up. "Mm… I'm going to bed earlier tonight… I'm so tired." Mumbling a bit, she laced their fingers together before starting to gently pull him along.
"Alright, Mel. I'll probably do the same…" Lucas followed after Melissa and stuck close to her. "What time is it?"
"Mm, dunno…" Melissa hummed, pulling her phone from her pocket. Glancing at the time, she nodded a bit. "It's about five o'clock. We've been out for quite awhile."
"Mm… we'll have to eat dinner soon, then." Lucas sighed. "What do you wanna have, Mel?" He asked softly.
Melissa shrugged a little, glancing back to him. "I dunno… I don't really care." She admitted, not bothering to say anything about not being hungry.
"Mm… maybe just sandwiches again, then?" He asked. "I don't know a whole lot of recipes, to be honest…"
"That's fine. Though we should probably look up more recipes at some point. If we ever plan to move in together, we probably need more than just that." Melissa hummed, tucking hair back out of her face.
"Probably, yeah. We could invest in a recipe book, but we also have the internet so… we can basically find any recipe we could ever want to make."
"Mm, and a lot of things we'll want shouldn't be too hard to make." Melissa hummed, taking his hand and pulling it around her waist.
Lucas nodded a bit and pulled Melissa closer when it seemed like she wanted him to. "We're pretty simple people when it comes to food."
"I mean, that's a good thing, isn't it? It means we won't have to buy all kinds of fancy stuff." Melissa hummed, leaning over and pecking his cheek.
"Yeah, I never said it was bad. We're easy to please with food." Lucas laughed softly and returned the kiss.
"Mm, I guess you didn't." Melissa hummed, giving him a little smile. "That's convenient for us, being pretty broke."
"Mhmm~" Lucas gently kissed Melissa's cheek. "Hopefully we'll have better jobs when we're older, yeah?"
"Oh, yeah, of course." Melissa smiled a little more, returning the kiss. "I'm dead-set on finding a job by the end of the week, by the way. I'm gonna make sure it happens."
"Alrighty, Mel. What kinda job are you going to try and get?" He asked softly, pulling Melissa a bit closer.
"I don't know, but something that gets me money. Very specific, I know." Melissa sighed a little, resting her head against his shoulder. "I've given up at something I actually want by this point- I've found absolutely nothing."
Lucas smiled weakly. "Well, I'm rooting for you, love." He murmured. "Maybe you would be a good waitress?"
"Maybe… that's always a good bet. There's plenty of places like that, in need of help." Melissa hummed, glancing over to him.
"Mhmm. I don't want you to be miserable, though… I really want to see you happy, Mel." Lucas smiled again.
"I'll let you know to come to work or not, then. I can't make sure I'll be happy, but I doubt I'll be miserable." Melissa shrugged a little, giving a little smile in return.
Lucas gently kissed Melissa and pulled her close. "I'll make sure to come and visit you wherever you end up working, alright?"
