Rowan turned away and found himself at his car a minute later. He kept looking back towards the park. Does he want me? Why would he? But..he used to..
He pulled out his phone but shook his head "he doesn't want am explanation, he saw everything he needed to see right there."
Rowan shut and locked his bedroom door as soon as he got home. Tears slid down his cheeks as he collapsed against the door. He pulled his knees up to his chest and hid his face in his arms, shaking with sobs.
Harrow got home late and collapsed on his bed. he glanced around and sight "you messed up bad harrow. Fix it."
Rowan passed out around 4am, only sleeping because he had to work at 9. His phone lay discarded on the floor after countless attempts at texting Harrow, none of which seemed good enough.
Harrow had fallen asleep and woke in the late morning. He grabbed his phone and sat up. Think we can meet up to talk? Maybe after your shift? He texted rowan
Rowan had woken up and got dressed slowly, he had gotten almost no sleep and his usual cheerful smile was gone. He headed to work, receiving some concerned looks from his family and other employees. I guess. Though I don’t even know why I should bother listening to you.
(ah that hurt)
Harrow whimpered softly at the response You shouldn't. But I want to explain what happened yesterday without running the risk of my mom finding out.
(Oop)
fine. Meet me in the park at 2:45. Rowan put his phone back in his pocket and continued working. The time went by quickly and he only had five minutes until he had to meet Harrow.
Harrow had sent his few pages of work to his editor along with a note at the bottom saying that he wasn't feeling himself that day as to why the few pages. He read the text and headed to the park around 2:30. He sat beneath the tree he had drawn before and waited patiently
Rowan walked to the park and spotted Harrow at the tree. He sighed and sat down in front of the tree across from him. “You wanted to talk?” His tone was soft and slightly shaky.
Harrow glanced up and nodded "y-yeah," he took a breath "I'm sorry for leaving like that yesterday. I could t be in the same area as him." He hugged himself tight "what you saw in the ballroom was a mistake."
“Why did you let it happen if it was a mistake?” Rowan asked, his voice barely above a whimper. He’d never felt like this before, equally filled with sadness and love, both for the person sitting across from him.
He flinched from the acusation "I tried to pull away, more than once. But he held me too tight and by the time he kissed me, I froze." He knew it was a pathetic excuse but he didn't know how else to explain it to Rowan
“Oh..why didn’t you tell me that last night? I would’ve understood.” Rowan replied, twisting at the hem of his shirt anxiously.
"because I was scared, scared that he would follow, scared that you'd hate me, scared of the idea that I have to be with him now, instead of you." He closed his eyes and leaned against the tree in defeat "I have to marry him in two months." He confessed softly
“I don’t hate you. I never hated you. I was just scared that you would leave me. You don’t have to marry anyone if you don’t want to. You have rights. They can’t force you to be with him.” Rowan looked at the ground.
Harrow huffed a laugh "right, what do you think will happen if I don't marry him? My family was already angry about me being gay, if they find out I didn't marry someone, especially someone of stature, they'll probably disown me." He shook his head "I don't want to hurt them more than I have but I am not marrying a man I do not love."
“Then leave. Go somewhere where they can’t find you. I don’t know.” He shrugged, stretching out a bit and sighing. Or you could just marry me. He thought.
he doesn't hate me. He's beyond that now. He doesn't even want to be near me.
Harrow sighed at the truth that burned his way to his heart "maybe I will. Go somewhere where I can't hurt anyone." He muttered
Rowan shook his head and moved towards Harrow. He placed his hand behind his neck and kissed him lightly. “I love you, Harrow. And I’m pretty sure you don’t hate me either. So if you do decide to run away, consider taking me with you.” He said quietly before sitting back with a half smile.
Instead of freezing like when Zander kissed him, harrow melted into Rowan's kiss, thankful for the tree behind him "why would I ever hate you?" He asked, a bit breathlessly "of course I'd take you with me." He leaned fowards and pulled Rowan to him, pressing his lips to the others and kissing him tenderly
Rowan laughed, his eyes glistening with tears. “I..I don’t know I just didn’t know how you felt about me.” He kissed him back gently, placing his hand back on Harrow’s neck.
He tilted his head and kissed him deeper, answering the question without saying a word
Rowan made a small noise of surprise then melted into the kiss, letting his eyes fall closed. He pulled Harrow closer to him and sighed softly.
He smiled softly and patted the others lips with his. He pulled back slightly "this was the kiss meant for you and you only. The one I wanted to give you on the balcony," he whispered softly, lips brushing Rowan's as he spoke
Rowan nodded, a bit breathless. “I’ve been waiting for this..like five minutes after I met you.” He laughed lightly.
"wow, before you even gave me a nickname?" He asked with a teasing smile "a bit hastey,"
“Oh honey you’re gorgeous. There’s no way I couldn’t have noticed you.” Rowan murmured, giving him another quick kiss.
He hummed softly "not too bad yourself love," he laughed softly and stroked his cheek "I'm sorry if I gave you the wrong impression last night,"
