Edmund nodded slowly, looking around. "Well, I would be pleased to help in any manner." He grinned. "And if it need be, I can swindle something from a market…"

@Fraust

"Mmnh… not yet. Stealing is more of a last resort." Lumi sighed and pulled some eggs out of the fridge to make breakfast with. "We just have to have smaller meals. And less meals."

Edmund nodded softly, though he still wasn't entirely deterred from the idea. He carefully observed Lumi cook the eggs, already feeling the pangs of hunger erupting. "Yes, I am quite used to that." He reassured, giving the other a smal smile

@Fraust

"I'm sure… hopefully we can get you a job soon so we can actually afford stuff to eat for two people." The eggs were soon finished and Lumi put them onto plates so they and Edmund could eat.

Edmund watched with a sorrowful expression as Lumi responded, sighing as he glanced down at the floors. They did seem a bit meager…
He sat down next to the other, tapping his fingers on the table as he stared at the eggs. "I uh- I'm not quite used to such a helping. You are welcome to take some of mine." Edmund replied timidly

@Fraust

"No, it's fine. I'm used to not eating much too." Lumi shrugged. They looked tired, and he was pretty thin. They'd been thin before Edmund arrived, though; there was never enough to eat as much as he should be. He honestly didn't look particularly healthy, either. They hadn't been doing great for some time.

Edmund noticed - of course he had noticed. He had lived in poverty and famishment all his life. He knew the signs.
He stared down at his own rosy skin, a much healthier complexion due to his damned soul, and the deals he had made. He sighed, knowing he didn't need the breakfast at all, and pushed the eggs toward Lumi. "I insist."

@Fraust

"No, I'm fine… really. I'll feel worse if you don't eat." Lumi smiled tiredly and headed over to the table with his plate so he could start eating. "We'll do what we have to. Even if we have to bend the law a bit to get a little extra food." They laughed weakly, rubbing at their pale cheeks with their free hand. "We'll be okay."

Edmund sighed sadly, feeling incredibly guilty as he looked back at his share.
Under the table, he rubbed his hand over the star-shaped brand, whispering something to himself before clearing his throat and turning back to Lumi.
"Yes, I believe we will be alright."

@Fraust

Lumi started to eat with a soft sigh. I don't really want to go back to theft, but… I might not have another option. "I'll have to go to work later, so I'll be gone for a while. You can watch TV if you want…"

Deleted user

Edmund nodded slowly, finishing up his share as he stared out the window. There was no way he was just going to watch TV today. β€œYeah… yeah that sounds okay.”

@Fraust

Lumi soon finished his food and brought the plate to the sink so they could wash it. Afterwards, he decided to just head over to the couch for the time being. "Got anymore questions?"

Deleted user

Edmund followed, rinsing off his plate and plopping next to Lumi. "How long shall you be gone today?"

@Fraust

"About the same as yesterday, I think. It can vary a bit though." Lumi shrugged, huddling up on the couch to keep warm.

Edmund nodded, then went to grab a blanket in the corner, gently placing it over Lumi. "I see… dost thou have a hearth? It is a bit drafty in here."

@Fraust

"Uhh… a fireplace? No, my apartment doesn't have one. I've got a thermostat. And blankets, I guess." Lumi gestured to the blanket that Edmund had placed over them. "I should have another one if you're cold."

Deleted user

Edmund shook his head, relaxing into the couch. "It feels pleasant to me. I just didn't want you to be cold."

@Fraust

"Ah… right…" Lumi sighed and huddled into the blanket. "I'm pretty small, and I get cold easily." He laughed softly. "I try to keep it warm enough in here but heating is expensive."

Deleted user

Edmund tentatively sat closer to Lumi. "I understand…" He muttered, unsure of what to do. "I am truly sorry."

@Fraust

"It's fine, really. I'm fine." Lumi insisted. "I'll have to leave soon. Do you know how to use the TV or should I show you?"

Edmund sighed, looking at the strange device as he nodded. "Yes. I believe I do." He lied. Besides, he wouldn't be using it anyways.

@Fraust

"I'll show you through the basics anyway." Lumi picked up the remote and started to explain what each of the buttons did so Edmund could find different shows.

Edmund watched intently, mostly focused on Lumi. He nodded occasionally, planning out in his mind on what he would spend the day doing

@Fraust

Eventually, the time came for Lumi to head to work. They quickly went over the remote controls for a minute or two, but then he waved goodbye and headed out.
