"Yeah, I know. But if you keep doing this, you might get caught next time." Lumi sighed, looking away. "I just want to keep the both of us out of trouble, yeah?"
"Yeah, I know. But if you keep doing this, you might get caught next time." Lumi sighed, looking away. "I just want to keep the both of us out of trouble, yeah?"
Edmund looked down, sniffing as the realization came to him.
"I… I stole from them. I hurt them…" He mumbled blankly, Lumi's words of warning echoing through his mind
"Yeah… and I know you were just trying to help, but you can't hurt people for my sake. I'm already on thin ice with the police, so if I'm connected to any other explicit crimes, then… I'll be arrested." Lumi kept his eyes on the ground, fidgeting.
Edmund nodded slightly, beginning to shake with fear. "Oh god Lumi… oh god… I…" He gazed at the things he had robbed, littering the floor with his sins. "Oh god!"
"Look, it's… don't feel too bad, okay? You didn't really know. You just wanted to help, right?" Lumi sighed and lay his head down to relax. "We just really don't want to be caught. You weren't seen, were you? They might try to track you down."
Edmund shook his head. "I made sure of that. I was not followed, I promise. No one knows." He muttered softly. "No one knows."
"Alright… if you're sure." Lumi rubbed at his eyes tiredly. "Mmnh… I'm exhausted. What all did you even take?"
Edmund shrugged timidly, looking around at his wares.
"Uh… blankets, clothing, currency, a few items of personal value…" He muttered, toying with the rings adorned on his fingers.
"How much money?" Lumi asked. "I guess you don't know, though… our currency is probably different now than it was when you were around." They sighed. "Do you have it all in one place?"
Edmund shook his head. "I know not the amount… though I did store it all in these separate containers. He replied, holding up boxes of cash
Lumi sighed softly again and accepted the boxes so they could start counting what all Edmund had stolen. He pulled out a wad of bulls, his heart starting to race at the sight of it.
(How much did he take? Adgjk)
(mmmm, lets go with about 5,000 dollars ish XD)
Edmund glanced nervously at Lumi, rubbing his hands along his knees. "Art thou alright? L-lumi…"
(Sounds good lol)
"Ah… y-yeah. Just gotta count this to see how much you got." Lumi laughed nervously. He wasn't great at counting, to be honest, and there was quite a bit of cash, so it took them a little while to count it all. "Um… if I counted right, you took a little over 5000 dollars…"
Edmund felt himself smile, sitting up a bit. “That is enough to make thy house warmer, and to buy you food! Yes?”
"Yeah, it's… a good amount of money. Should be able to help with some things. You're absolutely certain no one saw you?" Lumi asked tentatively. After all, this money was stolen. He didn't want to be traced back to the crime by using this.
Edmund nodded. “I am sure. You shall be safe, my lor- Lumi…” he gave a forgiving smile, running a hand through his hair
"Alright… I'll probably have to go to someone to switch the bills, to be honest. I've got contacts for that…" Lumi bundled the money back up and set it down. "They can track serial numbers on these things, so it won't be safe to use them unless I do that."
Edmund nodded, not understanding but knowing Lumi probably knew what to do. “So… you are fine with it?”
"Well, I appreciate the help, but I can't exactly say I condone theft." Lumi laughed nervously, looking away. "I'm not… mad, if that's what you're asking."
Edmund nodded, a slight smile appearing at his lips. "Well, good! This shall last you until I am able to find a job, and then there shall be no more theft."
Lumi nodded a bit, staring down at the floor. "Um… what kind of job do you think you'd be decent at? We don't have a lot of farming in this area."
Edmund thought for a moment before turning back to Lumi. ''What about your job? Mayhap you educate me on how to perform it?"
"Eh… I dunno if they're looking for new people right now. They're really wary of newcomers, too. It'll probably be easier to get an ordinary job." Lumi laughed nervously.
Edmund sighed, pursing his lips. "Art thou sure? It would be quite nice to work together. And i'll be sure to be on my best behavior. I promise that." He added, tapping his fingers anxiously together
"Yeah, I dunno… if they like you better than me, they'll probably just fire me. They're not going to want to be paying two people for the job that one person could do." Lumi toyed with his hair a bit.
Edmund shook his head, adjusting the blanket around Lumi. ''Why of course not. I would be more thank ashamed to put you out of thine workplace. I shall… look elsewhere.'' he sighed, casting a nervous glance towards the other. ''But what shalt I do? I am useless…."
"You're not useless. I'm sure we'll find something for you to do. Um…" Lumi considered for a few seconds, trying to come up with something. "You'll probably be best off in a grocery store or something like that. They could put you in a stocking job so you don't use much technology."
Edmund nodded slowly, tilting his head. "And this is where they have the endless market? Yes? And I would be best there?"
"Well, not exactly endless, but sure. More or less. They would just have you figure out where all the stuff goes and put replacement stuff there when it starts to run out." Lumi shrugged.
Edmund nodded, smiling gently. "Alright, I suppose I can take up that offer. Shall I start now or wait til the morrow?"
