there will be some questionable topics so if you join please be aware that there will be mention of (TW!!)
self harm
suicide
emotional abuse
if you have any other triggers, please let me know!
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT BE OP.

i have a template to fill out so let me know if you'd like to join and i will post it! here is the basic idea:

Obviously, this was a horrible idea. They'd learned from an early age that any emotional attachment was a weakness. But here they were. This person they'd found washed up on the shore was their person to protect. I mean, they didn't believe in soulmates. But they liked this person who the ocean had given them. Maybe a little too much.

There is magic in this universe, and limited technology (no phones, electricity, etc.) light magic takes the place of electricity. Different mages/witches practice different forms of magic. My character owns a dragon, so do what you will with that information.

ROLES: person A, the one who washes up on the beach (you), person B, the one who finds person A (me)

Name: Kayin Amahle
Age: 21
Gender/Pronouns: genderfluid, all pronouns,
Sexuality: omniromantic, greysexual
APPEARANCE:
Race: half-elf, which is looked down upon
Eyes: dark grey, regular pupils
Hair: shoulder length, black, slightly wavy at the ends. Falls in their eyes, so mostly they keep it tied back, Eren Jaeger style
Face: angular, long, classic slightly pointed ears.
Body: very thin, everything about them is exaggeratedly long: fingers, nose, legs, arms. Like a spider, sort of.
Height: 6' exactly
Typical Clothes: similar to what Hiccup from How To Train Your Dragon wears, (Kayin smells better though) except with various sizes of knives strapped basically everywhere. Their favorite is an iron blade and a dragon bone hilt, strapped to the inside of his arm.
Personality: cold, very self-protective. Conversely, once she gets to know you, they are fiercely protective. Not easily angered, but not patient either. Basically just hangs in the middle of the emotional spectrum.
Background: Their parents were abusive and manipulative. She ran away at fifteen and became an assassin, which is very lucrative, so they don't take many jobs, solely because he can support themself.
Likes: His dragon, the stray cats he finds in her travels, bread, ORANGES! the way to Kayin's heart is through a tangerine (oddly, biting people that she likes
Dislikes: people, his boobs, sand
Strengths: physically very agile and adept at machinery and befriending animals.
Weaknesses: for the life of them will not accept that not everyone is out to get her.
Fears: Immortality, losing someone he loves.
Powers?: amateur at light magic, prefers fire magic, which they're much better at. They can effectively manipulate and start fires, but it does sap their energy
Pet/Familiar?: twelve year old dragon that they hatched themself, named Aspen. Aspen is a male, about twenty-seven feet long, dark red with cream colored horns, yellow eyes, and long claws. Aspen is very chill, despite Kayin training him for battle and appreciates belly rubs.

Name: Gold Seyanal
Age: 22
Gender/Pronouns: Trans male, he/him.
Appearance–
Sexuality: Panromantic asexual.
Race: Human.
Eyes: Metallic bronze.
Hair: Darker gold with reddish highlights. Long and wavy, falling down to his waist. Usually back in a high ponytail or braid, unless he's doing something fancy.
Face: Heart-shaped face.
Body: Lean with muscles, narrow waist, and slim shoulders. Tanned olive skin.
Height: 5'4"
Typical Clothes: Loose, knee-length sleeveless tunics over undershirts, usually with short or elbow-length sleeves. Knee-length pants. Either no shoes or lace-up sandals, depending on the surroundings. Usually wears darker colors like dark magenta and black.
Personality: He's very serene but in a cocky way. He knows what he can do, and he's very sure of himself. He can be pretty sharp. He does not try to be nice if he doesn't feel like it. If he likes someone, he's much softer and nicer to them.
Background: He was born mostly deaf to a powerful family. When he was very young, he was blessed by the gods with a familiar to help him hear everything better. Given he was the heir to the family, he had a lot of enemies and a few attempted assassination attempts by various enemies of the family, the latest of which landed him in his current situation.
Likes: His bird, looking nice, power, people bowing to his will, running, interesting weather.
Dislikes: People making assumptions about things they don't know anything about, staying still for long periods of time, unflavored foods.
Strengths: Since he's been training at it since a child, he can handle a shortsword very well. He's quite a strong swimmer and good at lip-reading.
Weaknesses: He often assumes he can do it all, and really hates needing to ask for help.
Fears: Not being able to stop the people he loves from getting hurt, failure.
Powers?: He has an amulet that lets him temporarily take away the senses of another person.
Pet/Familiar?: Lekin, a raven that allows him to hear. They basically act like magical hearing aids.

(cool! here it is)
Kayin was kneeling at the water’s edge, one knife on the ground in front of them, one in his hand. She was sawing away at their hair, using the other knife as a mirror. He peered into the reflected image. Horribly uneven, but there was nothing to be done about that. He was about to begin rinsing his hair when she spotted a body. He wasn’t alarmed, exactly. Curious was a better word. She got up, shaking out her choppy hair, and cautiously approached the person. He nudged them with his foot, trying to judge if they were alive or what. In an awkward tone, she said, “Um. Pardon me?”

Gold's head was aching, his heartbeat echoing around in his skull. There was something gritty against his cheek– sand, maybe? Something pushed into his side, causing him to groan. His ribs were sore, probably from… oh, right. Getting thrown into the side of a cliff. He rolled onto his back and opened his eyes slowly. There was someone standing over him, though he couldn't quite make out who it was. Hopefully, no one who was trying to kill him. "Hmm?" Gold managed, moving his arm to block the sun.

@cryptic-glitch

“Oh. You’re alive,” Kayin said, slightly disappointed. She was hoping to loot this person and then leave. “Well, then. I’m not sure what to do with you.” He tipped his head, checking for signs of a concussion.

Gold scoffed. At least they weren't going straight for a knife. And since he was hearing them without too much difficulty, it meant that Lekin was somewhere near him. He couldn't figure out why they were so disappointed he was alive, however. "Where am I?" Gold tried to sit up and found that it wasn't too bad. It hurt, sure, but it didn't make him feel like he was dying. So it was fine. He was guessing he was near some sort of body of water, judging from the sound of water, but what kind mattered. Gold glanced around, which was not the best idea, as it turned out. His vision swam and he almost fell over.

@cryptic-glitch

"Woah," Kayin said mildly, grabbing the person's shoulder. "You're at the ocean, dimwit. Edge of the Good King Saerel's kingdom. I suppose you think I'm going to kill you. Or something along those lines, anyway. Unfortunately, my knife for the slaughter of humanoid creatures is still at the water's edge, so that will have to wait a while. Unless you'll settle for a dagger, in which case I will have you dispatched posthaste."

@MarDeColores this is not it kids

"The… what?" Gold frowned, letting his eyes close for a second. "No, I don't want you to kill me, though thanks for offering. I've had enough of that lately." Now, the first order of business, since it seemed as though he couldn't move just yet, was to find Lekin. They had to be close, but he wanted them next to him, or at least close. He wasn't sure what kind of condition they were in after… whatever had happened to leave him here. "Lekin? Lekin! Can you please make yourself known, you lovely little rusipol?" This wasn't how he normally talked to them, but it was guaranteed to make them appear from wherever they were hiding immediately. Indeed, not a few seconds later, a rather angry-looking raven swooped down and landed on the sand next to him, away from the stranger.

@cryptic-glitch

Kayin shrugged. “I like your friend,” she said. “Do you. . . need me to take you somewhere? Or some food?” He offered the person a hand. “Um. I’m Kayin. Doesn’t matter what pronouns you use for me.”

@MarDeColores this is not it kids

"Thanks, they're a pain." Gold turned to the raven, Lekin. "I expect you're doing better than I am." Lekin ruffled their feathers. Of course. I didn't just survive an attempted assassination, the raven responded, their voice different now that they were relaying their own thoughts. "Good." Gold let out a small breath. "I think that would be nice. Away from here, at least. I wouldn't mind some food, either, if you're truly offering." He accepted the hand and slowly, carefully rose to his feet. "Kayin. Thank you for asking my opinion on being stabbed before you actually did it. I'm Gold, and male pronouns for me." His gaze was mostly fixed on the ground, steadying himself.

@cryptic-glitch

Kayin raised a hand and shot a ball of flame upward. “My dragon seems to have wandered off and he has my saddle bags. He’ll be here in a moment, and then I’ll give you some bread or something. I hope you don’t get airsick, as Aspen is the fastest mode of transportation I have.”
As if in response to this, Aspen spiraled down out of the sky, landing with a thunp next to Kayin. The dragon lowered his head to inspect Gold and his bird.

@MarDeColores this is not it kids

"Dragon…" Gold glanced at Lekin, wondering if they'd given him the wrong word. A frustrated sigh told him that he'd heard it right. "Alright. I don't think I do, though there are no guarantees." Lekin screeched inside his head as the dragon landed, causing him to bite back a gasp of pain. "Not so loud, Lekin. Gods." Sorry, the raven apologized. It scared me. Gold sighed softly. "No kidding. I'm guessing that's your dragon?" He continued, looking at Kayin.

@cryptic-glitch

"Obviously," Kayin said. He reached into their saddlebags and offered Gold a canteen and a bag filled with various bits of food. "The orange is mine. So don't eat it. Otherwise, knock yourself out."
Aspen made a noise of indignance.
"No, you don't get to eat the food. You're a hundred times my size; it wouldn't even taste like anything to you. So quit moping, you big baby."
Aspen whined.
"Honestly, I don't know why you act like this," Kayin retorted, taking a few steps to where she left his knives, which they picked up and slid back into their respective sheaths.

@MarDeColores this is not it kids

Gold accepted the canteen and bag with a thankful nod of his head. He drank the water first since that seemed like a priority. It was hard to drink it slowly, but he managed to. After that, he rummaged through the bag and took a piece of bread. It wouldn't be polite to take any fancy things from this person, even if they'd admitted to almost stabbing him. Gold ate slowly, sipping some more water every once in a while. "Thank you," He said when he finished.

@cryptic-glitch

“You can have more,” Kayin said, slightly amused. “I’m not going to carve out your entrails.”
Aspen made a honking noise.
“You’re supposed to be king of the sky. Go get your own food.”
Aspen snorted and laid down on the beach, rolling over so his stomach was exposed to the sun.

Gold peered at him, then shrugged and grabbed an apple. If she insisted, he wouldn't argue. Apples were much tastier than plain bread, anyways. Your necklace is out, Lekin suddenly spoke, causing Gold's hand to fly up to his throat. "Oben," Gold cursed, quickly tucking the bronze pendant under his shirt. Normally, he would wear it out. Normally, it was expected of him to wear it out. But he couldn't wear it out now, not until he was back home. It marked him as one of the saya of his family– that was, one of the ones who could do magic. It was too dangerous. Hopefully, Kayin wouldn't care about that kind of stuff, if they even knew about it. He bit into the apple, feeling rather angry with the people who landed him in this situation.
