The line between unconsciousness, and consciousness becomes more and more apparent, as your dreams fade, and are replaced by sobriety. When you wake up, you see a figure standing over you. Panick floods your mind as you ready yourself, scanning your surroundings. There are other people too, all on similar bedros to you. You are surrounded on all sides buy tall, strong trees with dark emerald leaves, and lush, jade grass and vegetation. A solemn, Dusty gray sky hangs over your head, strokes of purple, pink, and orange in the horizon.
"I am sorry…" The figure says, in a somber, gravelly voice. "But I need the help of worldly, accomplished people, and you are the best I could find."
Upon closer inspection, you can clearly make out his appearance. A towering man, head and shoulders over the norm, with shagy, almost shoulder-length length black hair, and a close-cropped, sloppily clean beard. Below thin, full black brows, are smokey grey eyes.
He Stan's dressed in black scale mail, some heavy plate armor integrated in there as well. Strapped onto his shoulder, is a lengthy, narrow spear with knotted handle and cruel, gleaming tip. Hanging on his back, is a massive black and white shield, like a wall. On his hip, is a wrought iron chain, with many spikes on it for ensnaring opponents, and strapped to his obliques, are small, yet sturdy throwing knives.
He wears a grim, pleading expression on his face.

Welcome to my new roleplay, The King in the Distant Stronghold. This is a gritty, tragic fantasy story full of secrets just waiting to be unraveled by you, the player. Now what I need from you, is to create a detailed, yet fundamentally flawed character. The point isn't for everyone to have lone-wolf type characters, it's for everyone to have specialized characters which need to work in a team to accomplish something. I'd like them to be as realistically human as possible. We're not going to use templates, because that's not how real encounters work. So I want you to keep your character in your head, or in notes if you need. Anyway you know the drill. Magic will be a huge feature in this story, and so too, will having your character self things with their wits, travel and exploration, and role-playing skill.

(It depends on which school you specialize in. And how far are you have gone in studying magic itself. An apprentice magic-user, who studies the school of abjuration might be able to cure minor wounds, diseases, and poisons, put up barriers that can withstand some punishment before breaking, and maybe negate some other magical effects, whereas a master objector could probably go into a battle between two armies alone, and probably survive, that said they probably wouldn't be able to defeat any one side without help.)

(So he'd probably bw an abjurer, or a master of abjuration magic, which basically deals with protecting, healing, and negating other magic to some extent.)

Sounds like a plan!//

(Okay so did you read the small intro story up there? Cuz that's kinda important.
Your character is transported into this large grove of trees, where a king dressed in black and armed to the teeth requests your help. From there the rest of the story will be revealed and your characters can freely interact.)

As Klove opened her eyes, she found herself under the watch of a figure. She gasped, scrambling backwards away from him, her back hitting the stump of a tree. Her eyes darted all over the place: trees, lots of vegetation. This wasn't right. How had she ended up in this unfamiliar setting?
"I am sorry…" The figure said in a somber, gravelly voice. "But I need the help of worldly, accomplished people, and you are the best I could find."
"If I'm the best you can find then you haven't looked very hard, no offense sir." she breathed, starting to panic. Upon closer inspection of the figure, she could clearly make out the spiked chain across his hip. Was he going to hurt her?
"Where am I?" her eyes were wide as she started to pull herself to her feet. "Who are you?"

"Now now, you don't have you scare us every time one of us wakes up!" A girl jumps down from the tree and offers to help Klove up. "Don't worry, he won't hurt us, I think?" She turns to give a sarcastic look to the figure.

"I will not hurt you, my name is Simieal, and i need your help." He said. "I've… Been imprisoned, and I fear I don't have the power to exit my bindings for long. They will find me soon."

Halo was holding his head when he finally grasped the fact that there were people around him. Instead of panicking though, he looked rather relaxed. "Was that the surgeon felt before I blacked out? Wonderful." he sighed and stood carefully. He was a bit shaky, but he was fine otherwise.
