((So, it shows itself in varying ways, though usually, they're in the same vein. Healing is a common way it shows, as well as like, plant/animal manipulation or communication. Pure Life Energy in the form of offensive attacks, too. Ally, likely thanks to the way she grew up, or maybe just because that's what was decided, has a wildly different variation. While definitely the Life Force manipulation, hers showed itself in more of a traditionally negative way, basically Necromancy. Using residual Life Force, seeing what's left of someone else's, that kind of thing. She's the only one))

"Nothin' but show." Ally said, following his gaze and wrinkling her nose slightly in disdain. Despite her lack of food, she was well aware that her strength could probably beat that guy's any day. She'd met plenty of men like that, who focused on the build up of muscles for the looks, over strength and practicality. "Both of 'em."

She looked back at the boy, arching an eyebrow just slightly. "An' my magic ain' showy, but I got other tricks up my sleeve. Enough t' keep me alive." Her magic itself was one of those tricks. Though she preferred not using it, she could if needed. And the dead always seemed willing to help, mentioning how bored they were. "Kid, how exactly are ya plannin' on makin' it past the first round?"

@PrettyLittlePyro

(So, are you saying that it’s differnent for every Divine?)

Peter shrugged. “Something.” For a very brief moment, he seemed to look less like an innocent boy, more like a… well, a killer. Then, his face brightened. “But that doesn’t matter. I’ll probably lose anyway.” His face grew sad. “But then Auntie won’t have to take care of me anymore.” He sighed slightly. “What can you do?” He asked Ally, interest bright on his face.

Cole sighed. It was always up to him, wasn’t it? “Hey, um… Peter?” He asked.

The boy turned to him. “Yeah?”

“Maybe she wants to keep it a secret. You know, to surprise people.”

Peter thought for a moment. “Like you?”

Cole nodded.

((It's usually somewhat different, though a kid's abilities might be similar to their parent's))

"He ain't wrong, kid." Ally said, a small knife poised inbetween two of her fingers with a small flick of her hands. She toyed with the sharp implement, making it dance in her palm, between her fingers, the metal catching the light. "I'm a fan o' surprises, when I'm the one givin' 'em. An' this guy'll end up my opponent sooner or later." She cast a look over at the Prince, eyes scanning him for a moment before looking back at the boy.

@PrettyLittlePyro

(Ah. Okay, thanks!)

"What about me?" The boy seemed excited. "Do you think you'll end up fighting me?"

Cole rolled his eyes, though he couldn't help feeling the unwanted stab of pity that hit him as the boy spoke. Peter wouldn't last a day in the arena. The Prince would probably have the pleasure of watching his mangled body be dragged from the arena. Sighing, he rubbed his face.

I need a shave, he thought as he felt the stubble on his chin. He closed his eyes in frustration. This is what happened when you decided to join this dumb game.

@croccin-champagne

"I might." Ally said, studying the boy for a moment. "I'd rather not, though. Somethin' tells me tha' fight wouldn' end great for either o' us." One of them would lose, for sure, and while she would never kill the boy, she definitely had no intention of losing. Until then, though, she was pretty sure some part of her had decided to protect him the best she could. He had so much of his life to live, and an aunt to get back to.

"If ya wanna make it t' the Arena, ya migh' wanna get goin'. Streets're busy with the spectators comin' in."

@PrettyLittlePyro

Peter shook his head. "I'm ready. And I think I'd be able to beat you." He sent her a wide, happy, sweet, trusting smile that would make anyone want to protect him, and then moved up to the front of the room.

Cole raised an eyebrow at the woman in front of her and moved back into his corner. He really hoped that no one would try to talk to him. He was already feeling sorry for the boy, and he couldn't have that. This was his chance to kill, to destroy. He couldn't have feelings messing that up. Running a hand through his hair, he watched the woman through narrowed eyes. She seemed familiar, somehow, and he felt as though he knew her. Shaking those thoughts away, he turned to watch Peter talking to more people, breaking out his innocent charm and wit.

Ally slipped a hand into one of the pockets of her trench coat as she watched the boy, withdrawing a decorative hair comb. The jeweled bird on the accessory caught the light as she looked down at it, brows furrowed. It was the only thing she had from her birth mother, whoever that was. According to Carver, it had been tucked into the baby blanket she'd been found in, along with a note. She'd lost the note years ago, when it had been taken from her and burned, and she had made the mistake of putting off reading it, meaning she had absolutely no clue as to the contents.

Shaking her head, she ran a finger over the bird, before tucking it away again with a sleight of hand, and turned towards the door. Her fingers moved quickly, signing a few unreadable sentences for no apparent reason to anyone but her, before she slipped out of the room silently, coat swirling around her feet.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Cole saw a glint on the wall and turned to see the woman leave the room. He narrowed his eyes, about to follow, when the announcement for the next group to fight was called.

"Peter and Mancester."

A thrill of fear went through him when he saw who the boy would be fighting. He was a middle-aged man, but clearly a skilled fighter. He wasn't like the others, who tried to show off and make people fear him. He seemed calm and quiet, and ready. Peter, however, looked nervous and jumpy, like a skittish rabbit.

Cole met Peter's eyes. "Good luck," he mouthed. The boy gave a small nod and the two of them stepped into the arena.

The Prince felt a twinge of unease.

@PrettyLittlePyro

(Hey, I was wondering if we could do a reboot of this? I understand if you don't want to, that's okay. But I really liked it… although my character and writing style was crap.)

@croccin-champagne

((oh shit, i had kinda forgotten about this. uuhhhhh i'd have to reboot the entire plot bcs i do not remember anything i had planned and i'm kinda shitty about responding but sure???))

@croccin-champagne

((alright,, do you want to remake your character, and possibly make a new thread? i can repost the first post and templates, and i kinda want to revamp ally a bit))

@croccin-champagne

((okay, in most reboots i've done of this, and in the original, ally is an heir to the throne who was somehow lost, likely ditched or kidnapped, and i'm not sure if i should keep that or rework it somehow?))

@PrettyLittlePyro

(I think you should keep it like that! I'm not gonna have my character the prince… that was kinda weird… but it added a cool plot twist, and I think you should keep it!)

@croccin-champagne

((alright then! and if you have any questions when it comes to making a new character, in regards to magic or background-things, just let me know!))

@croccin-champagne

((i'll post new alli in the new discussion, which i'm about to hit post on once i @ you. i'd rather your character was posted there, that way it's all in one place, but if you want to post here that's alright too))
