Abel's probably my favorite character in my series and i love them so much and they're aro/ace and also badass and a gender icon and i already know they're going to be shipped with people and i am crying thinking about it ;-;

Same, I have a lot of arospec/acespec characters and I just know that their sexualities will be erased or people will do the "well asexual doesn't automatically mean sex-repulsed!!" thing which like…yeah some aces are sex-neutral or even sex-favorable (is that the correct word? can't remember) but do you actually care about the nuances of asexuality as a spectrum or do you just want an excuse to write smut with canonical aces :/ it's so annoying there are so few canon ace and/or aro characters leave them alone

Yeah, I can see the same thing happening with Ara :/ I can see him getting shipped with Andor, which is even more frustrating because those two already don't respect each other so even if Ara wasn't aroace it's still kind of messed up to put those two together.

I kind of feel like part of the problem is how asexuality is portrayed in books though. Like I've read about 4 books with ace characters, but in only 1 of those books did the character actually say the words "I'm asexual." In all the rest it was just kind of implied, so I think people sometimes take that to mean "Well their sexuality was never specified so I can ship them with whoever." I haven't done a ton of work on Ara's story because I'm still figuring it out, but once I do you can bet your ass that there's going to be a scene where he comes out as ace so that there's no ambiguity.

Idk, Maybe some sort of god (it kind of complicates thing, though at the same time it can be handled correctly) The most cringy oc, I could see is maybe a poorly handled ghost, a supernatural being that's just chilling in Fairmallow, an half-phantom, they're rare for a reason or I don't mind self-insert or ocxcanon but if they're paired with Matthew, he snouldn't easily fall head over heels for them, especially if Sophie's around

Yess, I agree. It's one thing to have a character who is legit ambiguous and doesn't want to label themselves, but so often people just imply, even with a character who is very firmly comfortable with their orientations.   Answering these two together. I'm not entirely sure since there's a lot of characters and a lot of them are morally grey at best…I think that Algernon, Imogen, Ulla, and Eliot will be some of the favorites and that Sal, Tabitha, and Bastian will be more controversial ones.

  Hopefully Tabitha and Eliot since their relationship (not necessarily even their romance, just their bond) is pretty central. I'm guessing that Tereza/Kels will have a strong following too.

  Anyone and Imogen, she is aro-ace. Any of the underage students with the adult rebels and anyone with their relatives, but that should go without saying.

  Pietyr and Sola. In the grand scheme of the story they're not too relevant (and unlike some other less-central characters, they currently don't have a prequel) but they're still sweet.

  Obligatory Imogen since she's aro-ace. Actually all of the main students besides Kels are acespec (Addie and Imogen are ace, Eliot and Tabitha are demi, and Kay is ace and part of an asexually reproducing species) and so that will probably be ignored.

  Kels, Cath, and Tereza bc Muscular Girls, Kitty bc MILF, Luc bc con artist, and Clare bc…idk I just think they have an effortlessly cool vibe.

  High School AU since it's a sci-fi dark academia story. I'd love to see a fanfic where there's still like a high body count and so much intensity but it's just a normal high school lmao. Also Tabitha and [any of the other students] role reversal AUs where it's a different student picked by the Director to become her right hand.

  ALGERNON OH MY GOD. He is going to be boiled down to "dramatic gay man who has good one-liners" and I will not be ready. Also probably Kitty and Kay since they're generally more upbeat, but not without their serious moments (Kitty after reuniting with her daughter and Kay after their father is killed).

  I can't say all of them for every answer but Probably Tabitha, Algernon, Tereza, or Kels (if someone's down for full-body green paint)

  Pretty much everyone in the cast is varying degrees of grey but I think AUs where Eliot is the one who becomes the right hand of the Director and not Tabitha will be common, as well as AUs where Kels accepts a position as the Director's right hand so she can work to overthrow the government but slowly goes mad with revenge. Also Dark!Kay and Dark!Ulla since they're on the lighter ends of characters.

• What would be considered a cringy OC in your universe? Like if someone created their own original character what is the one that’s going to make you roll your eyes the most?
  Ohhh boy. The biggest one would be if someone made their OC able to communicate with the stars since canonically Imogen in the only person alive who can (and, even more importantly, the beings within the stars are dead and can't respond). An OC love interest for Algernon since the fact that he's been engaged to Launce for years but they've been separated due to Launce's life being in constant danger bc of his rebel activities is a pretty important part of his storyline. Another Veren who survived the attack since the entire planet was scourged and Kels is the sole survivor. Also anyone who has a Gift power that's just. incredibly OP or somehow has more than one power without the "aid" of the Pendant.

Who do you think will be the favourite character? Either Nathaniel or Bane. Bane has a lot of personality, and he’s very like able. He’s your average, energetic crazy boy, but also a big puppy. Or Nathaniel, who is your psychotic villain everyone feels bad for and simps over.

Who will be the least favourite character? Hm. Either Val or Andrea. Andrea for the reason she is a snotty bitch who has no likable traits. Or Val, who is really dry

But having said that.
OCs that are made to give the characters love interests, specifically the AroAce characters. That ain't right.
Another murderer, like a rival murderer for Hearst. or just a murderer OC in general.
An OC made to be murdered by Hearst, like some kind of murder fantasy thing. (Hearst only murders people who have seriously hurt and destroyed innocent people and their lives)
I do not condone murder, I'm not trying to justify Hearst's murders, it's just that if someone made any OC for him to murder the OC would have to be a really really bad person to make him actually do it. Hearst doesn't enjoy killing.

Who is gonna be shipped together the most? (They could be in a relationship or not, just predict) Chester and Lincoln since they are the two protagonists and they grow close are friends. They're also both aro ace.

Who do you NOT want shipped together? I'm going to put three examples.

• Lincoln and Bowen since their friendship is tense as is. Bowen is straight and there are a few scenes where he becomes flustered around Lincoln when he (Lincoln) is wearing a dress, which could make people ship them.
• Chester and Ode. Ode is literally trying to take advantage of Chester for political gain. They do have scenes with banter and teasing which people might try to twist into romantic tension.
• Harli and Eddith. Neither of them are confirmed to not be straight but that doesn't give anyone a reason to ship them, they state in canon they feel like siblings, it'd be creepy as hell. They have a really close friendship and are each other's lifeline, that's why people'd ship them.

What (canon) pairing do you think they’ll gloss over the most? Maybe Jaymeson and Leslie, are one of the only canon romantic relationships, I doubt people will gloss over it though.
Maybe Lincoln's dads, I don't know.

Who do you think will be simped over the most? Ode, who doesn't like a dumb but very strong woman? Landers, who doesn't like a dumb but very strong man? Other than them probably Lincoln since part of his arch has to do with gender presentation exploration and he looks very good in dresses.

Hopefully Joey, since he's the closest there is to a lead (ensemble cast) and I personally really love him and his arc. I think Dally and Safie will be the "uwu soft babies" type of faves, Martin will be the "unproblematic" fave since he has done the least amount of questionable things, and Cameron Alexis will be the "okay yes she's not the nicest but I love her" type.

Who will be the least favorite character?

• Ira will be controversial but I think hope he'll have a group of fans. He's more cutthroat (literally) than a lot of superheroes in media since he's not really a hero at all, but also he mostly kills, like, human traffickers and corrupt politicians and stuff.
• Rosa will be disliked because she has Stockholm Syndrome type feelings for the League and continues to work with them because she wants access to their labs and is also terrified of leaving and being unprotected. She's a genius, but she's got like no social skills and is hyper-focused on trying to bring her dead friend back.
• Barry will absolutely be the most controversial because there will be people who go "his actions are Bad and therefore all of the nuance to his character is Worthless and frankly it's Problematic that the author made him sympathetic at all" and then there'll be the people who go "yes he's 'ironically' bigoted and kisses Joey against his will and publicly outs Jacob but he just wants to be loved!! :(" and excuse his actions and I am just…not ready for that. The whole point of the prequel is to show the gradual breakdown of the cast and to either ignore that Barry wasn't always Like That or to pretend he's still the same haha funnyman he was at the beginning and that his actions don't have consequences is bad.

Well I hope it's Joey and Mabel since they're the main couple and also my favorite.

Dally and Safie with anyone but each other, since there's such a huge age disparity between them and the rest of the cast as they're both sophomores and everyone else is in their twenties or older. In terms of the prequel, Barry and Joey (who at this point hasn't come out as trans and is still presenting as a woman)–Joey isn't attracted to men and is dating Eliza, Barry thinks Joey is friendzoning him by not wanting to get together, and forces a kiss on him. They would not work together as a couple and frankly the idea that someone would overlook Joey's relationships with Eliza or Mabel to ship him with Barry instead just gives me weird vibes.

We all know how fandoms like to ignore sapphic couples, so probably Cameron Alexis and Maisy, which is too bad because I want to give them their own volume >:) I like their arc of friends to enemies to lovers and you can pry it from my cold dead hands.

Ira is demiromantic and ace and while he doesn't have a love interest in canon, I think that if he gets simps they'll ignore that he's ace. Likewise, Rosa is bi-ace. I think there will be debates over Barry's sexuality (and also maybe his gender) based on a few off-hand comments he makes while drunk, but that's a different can of worms. Also, Mabel is nonbinary (to be more precise, femme-aligned nb/nb woman) and I feel like some people will ignore that she's nonbinary because she doesn't look like the nonbinary stereotype in most media and uses she/they instead of they/them even though she explicitly says it at multiple points.

Cameron Alexis because she's a goth with electrokinesis or Eliza because she's a goth with superstrength. Gotta love a woman who could kick my ass.

Anyone who was in the Gen1 League and also survived–the fact that Joey was the sole survivor is important and so is the fact that he's now the oldest hero with superpowers and doesn't know why they glitch out sometimes. A love interest for Ira would also be cringey since like…yeah technically he isn't aromantic but he has no interest in romance and is focused heavily on his vigilante work.

OOOOH BOY!!!! I'd be so happy with any OC, even the cringy ones would make me smile so much! But, since I have to answer….
Hybrids, they're the 1% of the population and extremely powerful and rich, the elite of the elite. Characters with powers that are too strong to function (creating new timelines, changing time without paradoxes, can control very powerful elements, turn into gigantic creatures, so may others!). BUT SPECIALLY: characters with more than one power. That literally breaks the world building. A shapeshifter is not a transmorph, the Avatar is not an elemental, a mage/wizard is not a psychic.
And specially…….. red and black. "Sparkledog" type OCs are acceptable (I…… I like sparkle dogs, ok? don't judge me please) but extremely out of place too!

He can (and should) be shipped after all, as long as it's acknowledged that he's a toxic partner to hoever people decide to ship. Just… He can be shipped but not in a good light, y'know?

Since he's part of a major ship, I'm very afraid people will make it dirty (specially since it's a canon gay ship, unfortunately, y'all know how fujoshis are……). Therefore I'm gonna make it very very clear that he's sex repulsed. In fact, his asexuality plays a big role in the plot overall, so it can't be any more clear than it is already, but then again, y'all know how fujoshis are……
Cecília too. She's straight and cis, but since she's a tall and buff/muscular woman, people will probably create a Luisa from Encanto situation, and try to headcanon her to be trans, lesbian or otherwise more masculine. I just want her to be a cis feminine girly girl who just happens to lift weights and be 8ft tall!
I'm also concerned that people will only see Carl as a guy, but they're non-binary and uses exclusively they/them. I think I'll make either Hélio, Florence or Oscar genderfluid but they're probably gonna be misgendered as well.
And lastly, Coraline is probably gonna be canon demisexual, but she's very pretty so…. people don't respect ace characters, again :/

Carl. They're not the funniest and not the deepest either, but their deadpan delivery is probably gonna be memed on. Wolfram's personality might also make him be the meme guy, since he's constantly trying to be funny and crack some jokes, but I think his relationship and psyche aspects will override the comedic side of his personality, story-wise.

WHERE MY PAULS AND CORALINES AT????? I look like (skinny) Simon a bit and my bf looks lots like Wolfram, so we're practically walking talking constant cosplays. BUT LORD I BETTER SEE SOME PAULS AND CORALINES OK

Simon, Wolfram and Carl. Paul might have some few and far between kins and that worries me because despite not being a "Grr Evil! I'll conquer the world because I'm a villain! a bad guy indeed!" type of villain, he's still a bad person. Even if he has trauma. I'm particularly worried for people that relate to Simon (me, I'm people) because… I know what it's like. It ain't fun. Most characters in this story are supposed to be confort characters too!

I legit have no idea. I'd risk saying Carl, they're not a villain (in fact they're leaning towards the side of the Good Gyus^TM) but they make a few questionable decisions.

Again, I'd love any OCs! Probably those that take an existing character's element just to reimagine them. Or those that take waaaaayyyyy too many artistic liberties when determining powers tied to the element and end up too overpowered, like, Idk, being able to control someone thought their blood via controlling the iron in the hemoglobin. Like, I see where you're coming from but that's a huge fucking stretch.

None of the main 7, that's for sure. I suppose characters like Linda, Billy, Gogo and the Staves, who were all made to be villains before I killed them off. Especially the Staves though, they killed so many characters!

Aside from actual couples, probably Kelly and Fleur or Richie and Ben. Kelly and Fleur did have a little something in the past, but it was quite small. Richie and Ben? They're best friends for life, and I don't think most of Tiktok understand that not all best friends are in love, so they'll probably get shipped a lot. Also maybe Bront and Tatum?

People would probably think "Bront is so depressed, he's just like me fr." But Bront isn't really that depressed? He's been through real bad shit but he's the only main character who doesn't go to therapy lol. People might like to think they're like Kelly as well, and maybe they are! Who knows.

Bront. What if losing his parents, aunt, cousin, both sets of grandparents, uncle and brother to the same woman set him over the edge? He does kill that woman, but what if he went a bit insane and killed more people? Also James during the massacre.

I think any sort of OC would be cool! I suppose most OCs will probably be the 8th member of the house (which is a bit much, that's why I killed off Thomas). As long as they don't try to ruin any relationships, like Bront and Drew or James and Marty.

  I genuinely have no idea…if I had to guess: Jimmy (genuinely super nice and helpful, dies tragically, etc.), Anthony (all-around a very good and kind man and a good husband who raised his kids while his wife was at war), Felicity (big titty goth gf, and also has like "film noir leading lady" vibes), and Livia (very kind and energetic and sweet, but not a pushover or anything).

• Who will be the least favorite character?
  Again, no idea. I think Niklos will be controversial since he's someone who has been through some horrible things, but he is also very harsh towards others and lashes out at them a lot. It could really go for a lot of the leads, since most are former soldiers and therefore have experienced a lot of trauma but have also done some pretty bad things themselves. Sybil may or may not have accidentally killed a bunch of people, but she's also charming and charismatic and sexy. Some people might dislike Ernesto since he's a bit out of his depth and his chipper demeanor might be grating, but I like him.

• Who is gonna be shipped together the most? (They could be in a relationship or not, just predict)
  Hank and Clive are the closest thing to a main couple so probably them. Likewise, Agnes and Tiodore, Freddy and Ozzie, and Vittoria and J.B. since they have stories devoted to them, same with Grady and Livia. Tasha and Anthony since they're just very sweet and are the only ones to have a family.
  As far as non-canon couples, Niklos and Grady will probably be shipped since they're childhood best friends.

• Who do you NOT want shipped together?
  Felicity and Freddy. They're close friends and work together a lot, but they don't like each other in a romantic sense. Same with Tiodore and Vittoria–they're friends, but not in love and have love interests of their own. Joel and Ernesto since Joel literally points out multiple times that Ernesto is younger than his own kids–I don't think people will ship them, but the internet's gonna internet :/

  I think a lot of people are going to ignore that Freddy is bisexual since his love interest is a man and he doesn't have any interest in his friend Felicity, who is a very attractive woman. I also feel like people are going to argue about Sybil's sexuality since she'll have sex with a man or a woman or anyone else, but she's only ever fallen in love with women. Oona and Ernesto are both ace but that will probably be ignored–likewise, Vittoria and Felicity are aro-spec (although not aromantic) and Grady is demi.
  In terms of gender, I think that people will forget that Grady is a trans man even though it's pretty explicitly stated. Same with Judith being nonbinary–she doesn't have the words to describe herself as nonbinary since this is a sci-fi with aesthetics inspired by the first half of the 20th century, but she confides in her husband that she doesn't feel like a woman, she doesn't wear skirts or dresses even to her own wedding, and uses she/they pronouns (although the "they" is only in private).

  Dottie, Felicity, Sybil, and Tasha. Easiest answer of my life. Also Judith and possibly Joel.

  Dottie, Sybil, and Felicity are all performers to some extent so they have some really cool costumes.

  AUs that transport the characters to our real world history which…I mean do what you wanna do but I specifically put it in a sci-fi setting so I wouldn't be constrained by our world's history and because I didn't want explicit and direct parallels to world superpowers or political regimes of our world. Probably a Star Wars AU since it's sci-fi.

  J.B.! He wanted to be an actor before he enlisted and he cracks a lot of jokes, but he's also dealing with a lot of trauma and PTSD like the rest of the leads are. He's not just "haha funny guy!". Same with Livia, who is outgoing and talkative but also not just that.

  Not gonna lie, anyone. I love the fashion styles.

  Man, it really depends on the person. I don't think I can even choose.

  No clue! I think it might vary from community to community. I think Bogdan maybe; Aeth user who wants nothing more than to see a united, peaceful world. Old(ish), 59 years old. Collector of silverware and friend of birds. And does a lot of important research that sets foundations for a lot of things. Lives in his silly little tower.
  That, or Tomila, an outlaw who cares plenty for her twin brother. Enough to hatch a plan to get him out of prison! She also assists Kyrios at one point on his journey. Showcases that you don’t need to have flashy Aeth abilities to take down strong enemies.
  Maybe Kyrios once people get to know him (when he shows off his more poetic side)

  So far…I think Istrad. Creates Kyrios for the sole purpose of using him on a mission, ruins his entire life, tries to kill him multiple times…kind of succeeds in the end, but not before he ensures she won’t come back from the dead. Some people might dislike Siirawyn as a villain.

  OLIGA!! Twin serpent my beloved. An Aeth beast with the unusual capability of appearing mildly human…with a certain twist to it. They’re witty, not afraid to point out the flaws, be it a flaw in someone’s battle stance/form, moves, or words.

  Siirawyn! Lots of potential there - maybe fanart that shows off some of his Aeth beast forms, or his different arcs as a character. Something symbolic - like his tree. A lot of options there. Or just him as an Aeth Beast. Maybe fighting someone too.

  Probably Siirawyn meeting Kyrios. They never met, even if Kyrios is sort of Siirawyn’s son. Maybe Kyrios time travels to the past and meets Siirawyn. I love me a good time travel fanfiction.
  On that note, any time travel fanfic would do. Different characters go back and meet Siirawyn, or Siirawyn goes to the future.

  Oliga, who may joke around plenty, but has a lot to their story (and is quite important in that aspect). Despite being an Aeth Beast, he’s one of the few who hasn’t completely lost his mind, and typically doesn’t attack unprovoked. As a human, he was associated with Siirawyn, although as he began to notice the other drifting into pure hatred of non-Aeth users, drifted away.

  aeth beast cosplay challenge GO (Siirawyn, Istrad, Ditmar, Oliga, etc)
  Oh, but for humans, I’d be pretty excited to see a Tomila cosplay or Bogdan one.

On the other hand, Ana isn't the stereotypical man-hating lesbian she instead has comphet and always refers to her future partner as "husband" and uses he/him pronouns despite being aware of her attraction to women.

I have way too many characters (16) so naturally, there are some more prominent side characters and some side characters that are more like fully fleshed out background characters. I'd be interested to see what fanfic writers would do with these side characters just because of how fleshed out they are in my mind but not necessarily prominent in the work.

Ana is the main character and although she isn't a saint she tries to be a good person so I would guess a lot of people would like to think about what would have happened if she had just lost her shit, annihilated the other kingdom, and started a dictatorship. Lux is an oracle so I feel like you could do a lot there and there would probably be villain Octavia's in the same fic since they are a power couple.

What would be considered a cringy OC in your universe? Like if someone created their own original character what is the one that’s going to make you roll your eyes the most? - I think badly done OC villain AU's would be the worst. Like someone trying to replace Ana or have their OC be an older/younger sibling of hers and have them be this badass Mary Sue over the warring kingdoms. One of the main points of the story is literally "Can there be morality in war?" and the main character struggling to find the balance between ruthlessness and empathy. So if someone were to take away the empathy part and just make this OC a total jerk that's meant to be cool- I'd be upset. (Idk if I'm being biased over my character but I feel like there is a difference between making a villain AU where say Ana leans towards ruthlessness instead of empathy and leans into her anger and grief surrounding losing her parents and having an angsty character with zero empathy who we are still meant to like.)
