The side of Earth humans don't see. Dominated by Creatures, beneath the protective Glamours that keep them hidden. Down back alleys that have magical entrances, inside the courtyards of staggering castles, beyond the borders of Sanctum

Basically, the world used to be dead. Creatures ruled in their six different Clans (Cruor, Brutum, Coven, Malum, Underhill, and Aethereal) and battled constantly. Then humans (the rightful owners of Midgard) came along and it pissed the hell out of the Creatures that they'd been fighting for nothing and so they started to kill off the human race. The Norwegian gods made warriors to protect humanity, forged from Thor's lightning. They weren't good like the humans, they weren't peace-loving, they were made from the heart of war and built to rule.

As much as human technological advancements are present, almost nobody uses them. The inhuman population is traditional, and stubborn. They use winters and transfiguration spells to do their work.

modern pseudoscience basically doesn't apply because humanity doesn't know they exist. Fun fun.

Anything is possible if you think it is and work hard enough for it. Witches, werewolves, vampires. They may have special abilities but if they don't have the moticvation to improve them nothing gets done. Simple enough.
