in 1952 in an undisclosed lab location scientists came up with a drug that they believed would increase the strength and endurance of anyone who took it. the drug was modified to only work in the presence of a y chromosome therefore ensuring only men could use it and be affected by it. the drug, called Excel, was made public and within a week it was the most top selling item on the market. men everywhere were using it to shave down working time, or even to just have fun being super strong. but there was a side affect that no one expected. the mental and physical over exhaustion took a toll on anyone who used it, triggering a sort of mental decay that started out slow, but sped up quickly within a few months of usage. the users were then left with only their basic survival instincts, leaving brainless monsters who devoured any living form in its path. however due to the modifications made, the women were not affected, and they were the only ones left.
