Noriko's World

It's basically our Universe but the story is set on another planet from ours, one that's quite similar but with magic and other cool stuff.

The Scholars who still bother to study and speculate the Mystery of Genesis say that this Universe was formed by many many Gods. One became leader but power corrupted him and he became a dictator. One of them tried to start an uprising but was cast into a newly created realm of existence called Hell, he became leader and just like his brother he became corrupted with power, his idealism turning into bitter cruelty. The once dictatorial God changed his ways and through many billions of years billions of stars and planets were created and destroyed but none so filled with angst, drama and warrior teenagers like Aetherea.

The same laws of physics apply to this world the same as ours but magic can defy it.

No one really knows how magic truly works but it can destroy its users unless you have a fairly good idea, when it was first discovered we selfish mortals used it for ourselves, bending nations to their will but it claimed their lives in the end. It's kind of like those people who always break the rules, reveling in chaos. But just like those people, only some magic exists, and they still have a lot to learn about it. Spells can be weaved with magical words created by ancient sages and one can choose a particular aspect of this big scary universe they want to control but magic isn't a slave. It can't be controlled or whipped into submission, it can be a real bitch on someone's mind, but with training you can live with it. And there are some who choose to use it for the greater good. And then there are still those dicks who use it to fuck shit up but in a bad way. And then there are those who are somewhere in the middle, who are just looking for a good time.
