Nanovirus, The Great Corruptor

The Caddisian technovirus is one of the most recent cutting-edge application of the Caddisians' infamous nanotechnology.

The technovirus is a serum comprised of a suspension of millions of nanobots, which, when injected and activated within a host's bloodstream, rapidly work to reconfigure their DNA. The effects it has on any given creature's biology range from no effect whatsoever all the way to instantaneous death. Between the two extremes, however, interesting and unpredictable things begin to happen.

The technovirus was designed with the sole purpose of introducing exploitable mutations and abilities in those it affects, with the Caddisians' endgame being to leverage control over entire races to take over armies of super soldiers.

The suspension of nanites is, under normal circumstances, a bright fluorescent blue liquid. The Caddisians transport it most often in portable canisters, from which syringes and applicators of it can be filled.
