Revenant

The Revenants are a race of people returned from the brink of death. Appearing as living dead, with bone protrusions and horns, their frightening visage is a reflection of their past. Once the ancient rulers of Asaara, now shambling corpses wandering the land. They are a solitary people, usually inhabiting mountain tops far from civilization or travelling in small nomadic groups . They hold the knowledge of the old world and gods. Seemingly stuck out of time, they struggle to understand and live in current society.

The Revenants appearance varies from humanoids with slight decay and bone spikes or horns, to monstrous skeletal beings.

Pale gray, dark earthy tones.

They believe that the gods have been corrupted over time and yearn for the times before.

Hunters, foragers, explorers, traders, scribes.

They don't use currency between themselves, but rather trade.

The people they were before were rulers of the continent and preferred by the gods. Little is known of them, only fragments. There was a great war and they were exterminated by the other races, only to be brought back as living corpses.
