The eccentric and elusive Tesserians are responsible for the many warp gates that connect distant corners of the galaxy.

Most notable is likely the shape of the Tesserian head, which features two prominent crests that sweep back from their foreheads. Their eyes are colorful and varied, and they sport rather effective claws at the ends of their digits, both on their hands and on their feet.

The Tesserians' discovery and pioneering of the capacity for connecting warp tunnels was such a significant turn of events in the history of the galaxy that it was chosen as the basis of the Galactic Common Calendar.

The planet of Tessera is governed at the highest level by the Tesserian Federation, a unified planetary government that maintains Tesserian relations with the rest of the galaxy.

Due to way in which their primary technological endeavors singlehandedly enabled interstellar trade to function, the Tesserians have a strong hold on economic supremacy across the greater galaxy. Trade and transportation within star systems is less reliant on warp gates, however recent Tesserian research has been focused on lowering the minimum required distance for establishing warp links.

The Tesserian race is far and away one of the youngest species of intelligent creatures that inhabit the galaxy. This is due to the fact that they owe their existence to the Talexi. The Tesserians were brought into existence as a genetic engineering project on the part of the Talexi, who populated the otherwise uninhabited planet that came to be the Tesserian homeworld.
