Medium

Some call this 'psychic' but those abilities are more in line with things such as mind reading, Clairvoyance, and manipulation of physical objects without touching them.

Instead mediums are those blessed (or cursed, depending on who you ask) with the ability to see and speak with the dead. Other abilities may include being able to sense negative energies and fiendish entities when they try to hide, and being able to view brief memories attached to physical objects if the medium touches them, among other things.

While some dead can make themselves known to anyone (particularly if they are powerful, have lingered long enough for some reason, or if they are compelled to stay by other magical means) most cannot be seen except by a medium or use of similar spells that allow communion with the dead. Many mediums thus make it their mission in life to find and help as many dead as they can; help the spirits move on, destroy bodies so they can't be used, take out necromancers who would violate the dead, and help keep graveyards protected among other duties. Many find religion so they can seek the aid of a deity to help and learn rites of exorcism within their faith to help deal with particularly nasty entity.

It's not an easy life, and it's an ability that is passed along bloodlines so a medium will likely have a child with the same skills. Some are fine with this, happy to train the next generation, others swear it off, especially if they've suffered because of their abilities and have no desire to have their children suffer the same.
