Ghost Hunter

While the job title refers to ghosts, the reality is that Ghost Hunters often deal with all manner of undead; spirits yes, but also zombies and similar forms of physical undead and basically anything that's died and come back in just about any manner.

Because of this, these Hunters are trained professionals - they end up dead if they're not. They operate independently, taking apprentices from anyone promising they come across, and often travel looking for leads on what to kill next.

To be a Ghost Hunter requires many skills; being familiar with many different religions and how they banish the dead, combat and self-defense with specialty weapons or magic (most normal weapons are fine for the undead but will do nothing against spirits, so having a weapon enchanted to do more damage to both is a must), and general self-reliance as they often work alone since apprentices are hard to come by and most everyday townsfolk won't be of any use.

General survival skills can be the difference between life and death, and many Ghost Hunters carry enchanted items or have spellwork applied to their flesh that will destroy their bodies and souls upon their deaths so they don't become what they have hunted if something happens to them.

Many are also quite...brusque. The generalized isolation of their job, the constant traveling, and of course the realization that much of what they hunt would not even be around if it weren't for the stupidity of locals can often wear on them over the course of the years they work - on top of being generally underpaid, overworked, and underappreciated when they point out that if the locals behaved better and didn't treat an induvial or small group like garbage they wouldn't have a problem.
