Arkuratalan'tai
Xen'toma meditative tool turned into an all-purpose armament
A colored mass of sub-sentient solid matter that houses itself in an old metal tube.
Tube = 12 lbs, but the arkura itself is nearly weightless in its neutral state. Weight is manipulable by the user in accord to density and size of item formed from the material.
Container tube is composed of something akin to dark bronze. Roughly 3 yards long with a 4.2 inch radius, various rocky (possibly blackened soapstone) inlays adorn most tubes.

The biospiritual material this is made of is said to be located in pockets among the Earth's mantle, implying that the Xen'toma have gone underneath the crust to collect the substance. (This is only known to Jace, Irene, and still living Ter'yuin Xen'toma.)
~80 million years ago, around the Cretaceous Period, by the Ter'yuin Xen'toma.
The substance itself takes the shape of an entity, typically an item, that is predominant in the wielder's mind. Aptitude in using and manipulating the substance is largely individual, and relies primarily on one's ability to properly divide their attention between the arkura and the task they are performing.
Human capacity to expand the arkura's mass without putting durability at risk twofold is significantly lower, and as such, forming whole sets or even full limbs of armor can be straining on the mind. It is not advisable to use Sao'tsa Zhen, Saot'sa Kyei-ten, Khemen Soszets or other kyei/mind-straining techniques in conjunction with arkura unless needed.
Sheolean energies can do damage to, and even shatter, an arkura if the attack is intense enough. They are immune entirely to Xen'toma energies, however.
If a piece of arkura is broken off of a mass, it will lose coloration and die, becoming an inert hunk of spongy stuff. Putting the chunk back in the tube with the rest of the mass and leaving it be will allow it to be revived and usable again.
Arkura glow, spark and crackle in their respective colors when put under sufficient strain. Bright flashes and loud cracking noises are emitted when two arkura strike each other with enough force, giving away the location of a fight if two people use them.
