Design

LEMs have been designed with three uses in mind: Ranged attacks, melee attacks, and unhindered mobility. It accomplishes this with a highly refined design that allows it to switch between two states that have multiple uses to them: Handgun form and bar form.
Handgun form is self-explanatory; the LEM can be unlocked from Bar Form and slid into a pistol-esque shape. Once in place, you'll hear a click, and it'll lock into handgun form, causing a trigger and trigger guard to slide out of the bottom of the barrel against the grip.
Bar form is its second state. Unlock the LEM from the handgun form and slide the grip, so it's parallel to the barrel and push the trigger and trigger guard back into the barrel. The trigger and the grip both have separate locking mechanisms, and you'll hear a click for each to signify they're locked in place. Once you've done this, the LEM will form a flat rectangular prism shape, hence the name 'bar form.'
Three key features stay present no matter what state the LEM is in; The ZAP energy gauge, the ability switch, and the ZAP slot.
The ZAP energy gauge is located on the long side of the LEM when in bar form, on the side of the barrel when in handgun form.
The ability switch is located on the short side of the LEM when in bar form, on the top of the barrel when in handgun form.
The ZAP slot is located on the short side of the LEM below the ability switch when in bar form, on the back of the grip when in handgun form.
