Panorca

Roughly the size of a rhino, the panorca is essentially just an orca with legs. How they diverged from their ocean-dwelling cousins in such an insane manner is anyone's guess, though rumors range from natural evolution to the meddling of magic casters to create hybrid creatures in secret.

Panorcas are among the fastest land animals at a run, each foot outfitted with razor-sharp claws, and they are just as fast in the water making them true apex predators across both environments. A few in arctic regions have managed to tame adults well enough to produce domesticated offspring, making panorcas a popular mount in the region if one needs to get around quickly.

Several villages also use them as animals of war, guards riding their panorcas towards threats only to dismount and let the creatures handle the rest as very little will stop one. Other predators also tend to avoid villages where the panorcas sleep by the walls, not wanting to get into a scuffle with them, making them an almost necessary part of arctic defenses.
