Areas with low light: Cavern systems and thick forests being ideal.

Living creatures; higher intelligence preferred (Humans, Fey, Metelf, etc.) Feeds on life force of an individual: Higher intelligence = longer lifespan/stronger survival instinct. Depending on food sources, feeds 1-2 times a year, or 1-2 time a week

Scene: "The pale creature stared through Braidn- its dried, cracked lips peeling back into an open-mouthed grin, parading four sets of long, yellowed fangs. Its forked tongue hung out of its mouth, dripping thick, warm saliva on the terrified teenager’s torso, soaking into Braidn’s jacket. Long, black claws pinned the boy to the ground beneath the near-skeletal creature.

Braidn screamed as the creature’s oily strands of hair parted. The creature’s eyes were clawed out, leaving in its place two infected holes that were caked with old pus and blood. Its skin was grey and cracked. Braidn whimpered as the creature circled his eyes with its claws, digging into the skin."
