Mashka
16 or 17-ish
Female, she/her
Emerald green, gold flecks
Looks human; definitely not.
Cloud white, with a fair bit of shimmer and sparkle to it. It glows; the amount of glow depends on how she's feeling. Freckles - they look like slivers of opal embedded in her cheeks.
OK, let's be honest. She's no beanpole. She's been sitting around in a house all of her life with no real exercise, so she's a bit on the plump side, but she makes it work - you wouldn't imagine her being skinny, her body type is just right for her.
6'4"
Chocolate brown
Wild and curly, reaches to her knees (she's never cut it). Sometimes behaves as if it has a mind of its own, depending on her mood; it's generally curious. She doesn't usually bother to try and tame it, either literally or metaphorically.
Curious, sweet, shy, and welcoming.
Doesn't have any idea what to do in social situations.
Reading, dancing
She's an extremely skilled dancer.
Socially awkward
Claustrophobic since "Nightmare Room" incident (see History)
Getting back to Mansion
When she's nervous/uncomfortable, she rubs her clavicle with her thumb. Her hair and skin reflect her emotions.
Was raised in an old, abandoned mansion, named Mansion, who raised her. She is the host of Mairel, Gold-Heart of plants/animals & nature.
The history she doesn't know is that she was born straight from the forest, and the forest spirits, recognising power beyond their own, took her to Mansion and evoked its sentience (a power most old houses have), placing their blessing on the house and forbidding her to leave it lest she come to harm (they're a protective lot). Since houses age when awake, Mansion went back to sleep when Mashka was 8, telling her that she could only wake him in the most dire of emergencies.
At the age of 5, she accidentally locked herself in one of Mansion's dungeons. Stirred on by panic, the nature in her broke out, causing a fair explosion of vines, saplings, plants, dirt, rocks, etc. in the dungeon, transforming it into, in effect, a miniature forest. Mansion eventually came to her rescue as best he could, then made her lock the dungeon door so she couldn't go in again. Mashka remembers the dungeon as the "Nightmare Room" and has feared both her powers and small spaces since.
She's learned everything she knows from either Mansion, who was endowed with forest-spirit knowledge, or from the vast amount of old books (mostly fictional) from Mansion's library.
Eskeran (host of Mairel)
Sweet berries (really called yeška, but she doesn't know that)
