Her parent's were never married when they had her. Dad ended up moving away but she still knew him pretty well. Mom ended up marrying and Ana had a loving step-dad for most of her life. Parent's ended up dying in an accident while she was in 8th grade. She was in the back of the and got a scar on her chest because of it. Got PTSD. Can't seem to ride in cars or be in the front seat as she saw her dead parents in those seats because of it. Ended up moving into her father's small town in the middle of nowhere. She got her GED online and her father convinced her to stay and do community near by. The story takes place during the character's senior year and the summer before .
