Ylva’s birth was meant to usher in a period of peace between a tribe on the border of Sreng and the Faerghus nobility. Her mother was from a minor cadet branch of the Blaiddyd royal family located within Gautier territory but did not carry their crest. Her father was the next in line to become chieftain of that particular group. When Ylva was born and proven to be crestless, the only thing stopping her from being disowned was the disdain the Srengian people had for crests.

She fled Fódlan for Albinea with her Sreng milk mother.

Ylva’s beauty was so arresting, the king of Mann at the time, Vortigern (actual name pending), proposed to her on the spot.

She was deceived and had a child with Heikki (name also pending). Her husband was out on a short campaign down the mountain for the Wild Hunt. Ambrose transformed Heikki to Vortigern’s likeness and he laid with the queen without her knowing. After the deed was done, Vortigern was warped back to his own palace without his own queen any the wiser. The child that resulted from said coupling was Ankou.
