Brin tries to be very open and friendly, but really is shy and a little awkward. He puts effort into his appearance. His speech is not overly formal, but he doesn't swear or use much slang. He always acts a little nervous, but it lessens when he gets to know people.

Brin comes from two magic-less parents. His mother has True Sight, but his human-realm father can only see fae with her help. His 1-year-older sister is truly gifted in magic, but got sick and died young. His parents are known as excellent florists among civilians, but are more well-known for their care of more magical plants among the fae and mages. The mages that would visit told him stories of their adventures and he set his heart on Greenchild. When he was 16 he and his sister found an injured pixie during a particularly bad thunderstorm and took care of her while she recovered. Now owing them a life debt (and guilty she couldn't help his sister), the pixie named Petal agreed to become Brin's familiar and help him with his magic so he could join Greenchild.
