Born high in the mountains, Laurel lived a normal life till her parents passed away when she was 17. Her fiance betrayed her and married another girl, and Laurel decided to leave home and search for better things. She fell off a cliff and was nursed back to health by a mysterious woman living alone in the woods who refused to tell Laurel her name. The woman taught her the ways of healing and midwifery, then passed away. Laurel took to the road after that and lived as a nomad for the next 5 years, until she met Sir Alain on the side of the road and eventually landed a position at the convent at the edge of Lady Lilly's lands.
