She is cunning and intelligent, and a terrible enemy. She always likes to be prepared, and acts impatient most of the time. And she hates showing weakness.

Enter baby Hunter. Real name Isarrel Vyldburne-Vasquen. She is the daughter of Anan Vasquen, an Eternal from a world called Ervasiti. They're kind of like gods. He's the Eternal of cunning and conniving, and a lesser Eternal as well. He ran away to Elenava after committing some horrible crimes to the Eternal Council. All he wants is to be in control, and so he gets that from being the most powerful being on Elenava. Her mother is Cerina Vyldburne, a princess from the world of Tempus. Anyway, Cerina is one of many, many women that Anan charms, impregnates, and then kidnaps. Already fragile Cerina, being taken, made pregnant, and then tossed aside for the newest woman, goes insane. Anan is looking for the perfect offspring, killing those who aren't powerful. Hunter is, so far, the only one who has succeeded. So her and Cerina are kept alive. BUT the abuse from the insane Cerina is crazy, and because she's the child of Anan, she's hated, so she runs away often.
One day, very young Hunter, on one of her excursions, goes into the mountains. Or maybe a valley or something, wherever the spear is. And she sees it, and can sense, in her child-like soul, that it's lonely. So she plays with it and comforts it and talks to it. And the spear, who already loves children and wants to protect them, the spear who is the heart and soul of the world, imprints on her. Whatever she needs, it will help her. But she doesn't know this.
Through the years, she forgets where the spear is, though the magic of growing up, because adults can't be trusted to not use the spear for evil. It's one of the protections placed on it. But there's always that connection she's unaware of, making her more powerful, closer to the earth. Whenever she needs help, it's always available. It's how her training became so extensive.
And then her mother gets killed by her father. And normally, the so-called "gods" of Elenava wouldn't care, since she's an offworlder, but Anan's sister is there. Which makes it worse. See, Anan has a twin sister, Almira. The Eternal of the law. And she likes to sabotage her brother. They don't have a healthy relationship. She hears about him and tells the gods of his horrible doings. And because Cerina is royalty from another world, very powerful royalty, too, it goes badly. So he gets brought to trial on Elenava, and sealed away. Because that's not enough for them, Hunter gets a punishment, a curse. She has to train heroes to take down villains just like her father, because the gods think that it will destroy her, that she loved her father.
