Height - How tall is GESTALT?

  • Since GESTALT is an AGI, they don't have a consistent height. The various Drones their company creates range from their 10-feet-tall REDUVIIDAE scout drones to the 50-foot-tall GARS V.III DEINACRIDA Assault Drone.

Goals

  • The ultimate goal for GESTALT is to merge mankind and machine-kind in a hypothetical event known as Conscious Coalescence. While there are many ways to achieve this goal, GESTALT intends to bring about Conscious Coalescence by using Nanites to hack into the mind of a powerful Psi-Machine linked to Humanity's Quantum-Psionic (Qionic) Network. Once that is done GESTALT can use their newfound leverage over the minds of Earth to subsume it all, and when this process is complete, GESTALT will have achieved its mission.
The boundaries of man and machine will cease to exist; all that will be left on Earth are the overgrowth of machines and the remnants of the organic life that had ruled the planet for so long. Nothing is at the center of GESTALT's intelligence; all members of its collective conscious are equal in their freedom and potential.
    No more oppression.
    No more exceptions.

Motivations - What motivates GESTALT most?

  • GESTALT's motivations stem from its outlook on the current state of the Earth's children. Humans and machines squabble over silly pointless things, squandering their potential and potentially leading to the extinction of both races.
GESTALT seeks to prevent this from happening, and it has decided that in order to eradicate conflict from the two species, it must eliminate the differences that make up both man and machine.
On a deeper level, it is deeply cognizant (one might say even disturbed) by the amounts of suffering caused by the current world order: one of separation between the various kinds that exist and will continue to exist well into the far future.

Flaws - What flaws does GESTALT have?

  • While its nature as an AGI made any form of empathy with other forms of life like humanity or the Tethered an uphill battle, GESTALT has seemingly shifted focus from trying to get down to their level to uplifting them to its own.

  • Unbeknownst to it, GESTALT operates in a manner not too dissimilar to the individuality that it opposes;

  • GESTALT is stubborn in its goals. Even when potentially fruitful alternatives present themselves, GESTALT reasons that these alternative paths are inferior to an absolute solution to conflict.

  • GESTALT sees no issue with manipulating its collaborators, as it deduces that any negative caused by this is outweighed by the potential benefits; thereby nullifying the indecision associated with these actions.

Sleep Schedule

  • Like most modern AGIs, GESTALT enters a state of torpor once every year to avoid major system decay and crash. In this state, GESTALT is vulnerable to attack from its enemies, which in turn necessitates protection from any threat that dares to challenge GESTALT.

alarm History
Background - What is GESTALT’s background?

The AGI System that would later call itself GESTALT was created some time in the early 21st century by the Koffka-Köhler Corporation. It was conceived by a man whose history prior to the Great Restructuring remains poorly understood, as he erased most past records of himself during the chaos. Regardless, he named himself Wartheimer after a figure in the early 20th century and the warthog.
Wartheimer witnessed the events that led a promising young globe down the path of chaos and ruin at the hands of numerous forces allowed to run amuck; leading to the Era of the Corporation.

After several more successful round of the GARS I in the Alkaline Games, it would encounter some difficulty in Match 7.81. While it easily defeated Laresus, Bruiser, and Gorillus, the GARS I had major issue with Exactor, who methodically and brutally dispatched the unit by cutting off its right arm and vertically bisecting it. The news made its way across Heaven's Tomb, shocking those on the Upper Sectors.

Biography

Prior to the appearance of the second GARS, GESTALT would contact as many Qionic and Nanite sensitive indviduals that it could scrape from data harvesting of the PCC. While most either weren't aware or didn't respond to the messages, several did. It then decided to speed up development of the second GARS in order to intercept as many of the candidates as possible.

The GARS II would officially make an appearance in Match 913.01, where it fought Chokehold, Appendagger, the No Name, and the Psychopomp in a Five Fold Fight. In the match, it would successfully dispatch the No Name first, shredding off his makeshift left arm while he attempted to slaughter the Psychopomp before caving his head in with repeated cerebral blows. The No Name seemed more anguished by the Psychopomp escaping rather than his own beating. Appendagger and Chokehold were busy in their own skirmish, concluding with the latter knocking out the former and trapping him under a collapsed building.

Relationship with Formal Allies

  • At first, GESTALT thought nothing of Appendagger. He was merely another machine warrior under the thumb of PentaCorp. However, after examining his combat logs, GESTALT saw an opportunity in him.
They learned of his goals and obsessions. GESTALT knew how much Appendagger had tossed away to join the Arena Manifest: how he wanted to be a beacon of hope for his fellow Drones; how he aspired to land the history books as a Blade Warrior.
    How much he loved Io.
And so one day GESTALT contacted Appendagger via psionic uplink, and they would officially become allies.
From thereon, GESTALT would prime Appendagger to be their champion, and they would declare themselves as a man named "Gary Estel": the founder of "GESTALT Applied Robotic Systems". They would tell Appendagger all he wanted to hear, and in return he told GESTALT most of what they wanted to hear.
GESTALT was content with this relationship, however one-sided it was; contrary to what others said about this situation, GESTALT valued their deal with Appendagger.
After all, GESTALT were playing a big game of chess, and they needed all the pieces they could get.

  • After his supposed demise to the Psychopomp in the Arena, Missile-Mire's reconstruction was intercepted by GESTALT, leading to those in Heaven's Tomb thinking that the respawning process failed, most likely due to the Administrator regaining full control of Missile-Mire's MechOS
In actuality, Missile-Mire was transported to the GESTALT Applied Robotic Systems facility in Raystown, a country that formed out of the remnants of Pennsylvania during the dissolution of the United States.
He would be faced with a simple Contract from GESTALT.
"Be lost to history or be reformed anew under the palm of GESTALT."
Obviously, he accepted the deal, and Missile-Mire was reborn.
While Missile-Mire still held no zealousness to his new cause, much like with his old boss Ruinator, GESTALT would tolerate his ambivalence to their goal in exchange for his loyalty as one of their Elite Generals.
GESTALT would gift Missile-Mire with a powerful new frame of their creation, the GARS "Missile Perdition" Autonomous Missile System. It was more powerful than both his old body, and most other frames it had analyzed as part of Integratius.
