An in-between of curly and wavy and a bit overlong, usually a bit unkempt.
Grant was the late addition to the team to round them out when Caspar Pahlavi's powers proved to be more of a liability than an asset, and because of that he never really meshed with the rest of the team. Between his literally inflammatory power, his hot temper, and his tendency to rush into trouble head-first, most of them saw him as trouble--with the exception of Maisy Owens , who befriended him, and Rosa Ramirez , who he had a near-instant crush on and eventually befriended. Grant may not be the most popular among his teammates but he'll put his life on the line to protect them. Unfortunately for him, with great power comes horrible luck, and he spends his post-League years drifting around from city to city and job to job since his powers wind up getting him into trouble eventually, creating a self-fulfilling prophecy where his anxiety over it happening leads to him becoming more easily overwhelmed by his emotions and accidentally using his powers without intending to. Grant is someone who deeply craves closeness with another person, yet is too afraid of opening up to others to try and pushes them away by either running away or distancing himself by putting up a jokey exterior. He's always the first to crack a joke, and it's a rare instance that he actually shuts up--and if he shuts up during a fight, you know things are serious. He feels like everyone just sees him as a joke: the team idiot, the guy who can't just shut up, the guy who ruins things by rushing in. It may have been Maisy who accidentally sold out the team, but to the surviving members, it was Grant who ruined the mission by ignoring orders.
Grant has worn a lot of hats in his time: the class clown, the team pariah, the one who went and ruined it, the camp counselor, the hockey player who blew his career on an injury and a fight. At the end of the day, he just wants someone to look at him and see someone worth seeing.
Grant has very loose posture and tends to fidget a lot, especially with his hands. He's always leaning against things or sprawling out on furniture, and he's a big fan of finger guns, sometimes with a bit of flame at the tips for added pizzazz. He has a crooked smile that shows the dimple in his left cheek. When in a combat situation he squares up almost like a boxer, setting his feet and shoulders firmly before throwing himself into the fray.
- He had chosen hockey solely because it's the coldest sport but found out that he actually really liked it, even if it took some embarrassing falls to learn how to skate and play without putting too much force into his swings. Part of the reason why he was so upset by his career-ending injury was because it wasn't his fault--the other team was tired of his grandstanding and one of them purposefully went for an exposed bit of his knee.
- Due to his powers, he's a menace when it comes to hand-to-hand combat since he can engulf his hand in flames when attacking his enemies. He's also an absolutely relentless fighter--any villains who know about him know that if they want to try and capture him, they need to knock him out or otherwise sedate him.
- He's a checkers enthusiast and has been ever since he was a kid. He never had the patience for chess, but checkers was fast enough to keep from being tedious.
- It's a "talent" that only he'd pride himself on, but he's a good lab assistant to Rosa and very proud of that fact.
- He considers himself to be funny, but other people might disagree.
To rebuild some aspect of his life--and hopefully to find someone who he can be open with.

Fight, to the point that it's a liability of his. He has a lot in common with early-story Joey Puglisi in that sense--much like Joey used to, Grant chases fights for the thrill of feeling something. Unlike Joey, he's something of an adrenaline junkie.
Pyrokinesis--Grant can control fire around him, as well as create fire and propel it from his hands. Due to this he is mostly fire-resistant (his League uniform is as well, but his civilian clothes aren't, at least until he reunites with Rosa), save for the palms of his hands, where his fire comes from. Continual and strong usage of his power can cause anything from irritation to second-degree burns on his palms, which he usually tries to hide--no one else on the team is injured by their powers, and so he's embarrassed that he is. After reuniting with Rosa, she makes him cooling undersleeves to keep under his clothes in case he uses his powers so that he can then soothe his hands.
Grant doesn't have many possessions on account of moving around so much, but his favorite is probably a necklace that he wears made of a leather string with small carved wooden beads on it--a gift from his campers.
When Grant was a kid, he spent a lot of time in either detention or special ed classes on having ADHD, and the classes didn't do anything to help the kids there, and once he graduated high school, he spent some summers volunteering as a camp counselor at a camp for disabled kids--it was the only place he'd come back to in his days as a drifter, until he grew too scared of accidentally hurting the kids with his powers.
Rosa Ramirez
Rosa Ramirez
He likes salamanders for pretty obvious, and also really likes bears. Honestly there's not a lot of animals he doesn't like, except for cockroaches.
His fists, preferably lit up with his flame powers.
Vaguely left-leaning with an anarchist streak
Grant didn't grow up religious and frankly has never really considered it. He figures there's probably something out there, but otherwise he hasn't really given it much thought and doesn't care to.
Red.
Toasted marshmallows, because they are both tasty and let him show off his powers. S'mores ingredients are preferred but not necessary.
Rosa Ramirez : Rosa is Grant's closest friend from his League days--she was one of the two team members who liked spending time with him, and he was a bit smitten from the moment he met her. It took Rosa longer to develop feelings for him, but by the end of their League days, the two had gotten very close, although neither dared to ask the "do you like like me?" question. With the prospect of team retirement a few years away, it was likely that the two would end their time in the League as a couple, if not with an outright engagement--and then Maisy was drugged and tricked into releasing the League members' information, and in Grant's haste to attack Fryght he didn't think, leading to the series of events that ended with Tomas Donnelly's death. Rosa, as an old friend of Tomas's, couldn't even look at Grant in the days following the funeral and their relationship crumbled into dust, especially when Grant left the city. However, he returns around four years later and sheepishly shows up at her lab, hoping to make amends and regain her as a friend, if not as a girlfriend. Rosa is hesitant at first, but eventually the two become close yet again.
