Grey is a shiny, violet-grey, (mostly) scaled, Catfish/Pine Marten. They have an ash-grey underbelly that starts from their face down to their face. Their body is covered in medium to large specks of smoky black, but they seem to fade near the legs. Grey has several "whiskers" sprouting from their snout, along with gills on the side of their neck, traits inherited from their catfish heritage. They also happen to have a rusty redfin on their back, as well as a catfish-like tail. They emerald green eyes.
Emerald green
Hybrid, Catfish/Pine Marten
Thick-skinned, strong
Grey is pretty noticeable if they tried to hide in an army of pine martens. Their grey fur is notable, along with their shiny appearance and fins.
Grey is usually neutral yet wary with strangers. They're a little rough and blunt with newcomers, often appearing distant and aloof. While Grey may look as if they don't like one, they're really just careful with what she reveals to strangers. Grey speaks more often with those with who they're comfortable.
When they were young, Grey wanted to be known as "The World's Best Alchemist." They were often by themselves, trying new things and brewing mysterious things. When they were older, Grey realized all they wanted was to be loved and seen for who they are.
Grey appears to be aloof and quiet, never speaking unless it's necessary. However, one would find Grey to be an entertaining pine marten. Quite often, Grey takes the lone wolf route and shuts themselves from the world to tinker with what they've discovered. They love showing off their stuff to loved ones, although they don't experience this due to their family members ignoring them in favor of paying attention to more experienced alchemists. This leaves Grey desperate for /someone/ to give them feedback on their works. If they get the feeling of being neglected, Grey may become moody and withdrawn. They can get mean with their words, even if they didn't mean them. And to top things off, Grey is blunt and doesn't like lying. They react rather intensely to certain situations, which can be quite intimidating. Despite all of these, Grey is a loyal companion and will fight to defend their loved ones.
Due to their catfish heritage, Grey needs a constant water supply. While living in most areas isn't such a huge deal, other dry areas like tundras and deserts can serve as a problem. Grey may also suffer should they get exposed to extreme sunlight, as their scales can't handle such heat. Despite requiring water, Grey can't actually swim very well. They're somewhat decent, but their gills serve little to no purpose.
Grey despises fish, just saying-
Grey is a skilled alchemist, being able to turn simple things into other matter. They're strong and clever, proven then they were able to tear down trees to build a shelter. They also learned basic survival skills from the Alchemy Pine Martens.
Grey usually likes exploring their surroundings, tinkering with objects, experimenting, and showing them off. They're usually very busy with their paws, and will probably go crazy if they don't do something.

Grey learned most of their skills from their own mute pack, although they did learned some things by themselves.
Grey was born to the Alchemy Pine Martens, a group of half pine martens and other various animals. For most of their early life, Grey ventured off to brew something interesting. They would race back home, showing off what they transmuted to their parents. Not many members of the pack were interested in what Grey made, as they had much more advanced masters. This discouraged Grey and caused them to be withdrawn.
When Slushie Pine was born, Grey showed their interest in the young one. After all, she was their cousin. Well, half cousin, considering the caribou side in Slushie. Grey sometimes showed Slushie her creations. While Slushie was too young to understand alchemy, she was entertained by this. Grey, confidence boosted, began to spend more time with Slushie.
Grey wasn't sure when the sickness began. Some declared it began when Slushie was born. Others claimed it had been under the Alchemy Pine Marten's noses all long. Whatever it was, it was deadly and contagious. Members fell ill, coughing out blood and receiving strange mirages before falling dead. The ill members were quarantined, although it was too late to contain the sickness. Soon, Grey and a couple of other members were the only healthy ones.
Grey, fearing for their and Slushie's lives, fled the place with her. Grey determined both of them should live by themselves from that point on. They were often on the move, never staying in a place for more than a couple of weeks. Grey mainly raised Slushie by themselves, and even taught her some basic alchemy. Grey never mention their origins, as they felt as thought they should leave the past behind them.
Once, they encountered the ruins of the Alchemy Pine Martens. It was a horrific sight. Bones scattered around the place, curtains were torn, floors stained with blood. Slushie noticed one of Grey's pots, something they had left behind all those years ago. Slushie demanded an explanation, and Grey had no choice but to explain. Angry that Grey kept this away from her, Slushie ran off in anger. Grey ran after her, although they were too big to fit through the cracks Slushie entered.
Grey doesn't have any pets.
They're the half-cousin of Slushie Pine
"Look what I made!"
"No, I don't think I can turn lead into gold. Sorry Slush."
"I'm so sorry Slushie. I didn't want to tell you-"

Investigating the ruins of the Alchemy Pine Martens
Any unsaturated, dark colors would work for Grey.
Clams. You would think she'd want a meat-based food but Grey prefers seafood.
Grey used their pot to brew things, although they had to leave it behind during their flight.
Grey prefers wielding the power of elements. Their ideal form of attack is throwing an Alkali element before shooting water at the opponent. However, Grey hasn't ever actually tried this yet.
Grey thinks jerboas are pretty cool :>

Slushie Pine (Neutral positive) - Slushie Pine is Grey's younger half-cousin. Grey ignored Slushie for some time, before showing her a transmutation Grey brewed. Slushie was entertained by the things Grey made, so Grey kept giving her things they made. They formed an odd relationship, with Grey showing Slushie new things everyday and Slushie squealing and asking questions (though being a newborn, Slushie's words were pretty unintelligible.) When the sickness arrived, Grey took Slushie with them and fled. For most of Slushie's life, Grey raised her by themselves. They even taught Slushie basic alchemy. However, Slushie was outraged with Grey when she discovered her origins, since she suspected Grey was hiding more secrets from her.
Alpenglow (Positive) - Alpenglow was an old friend of Grey's.
