A mysterious man who has made contact with The Axiom [Great Will].

In truth, Stephen was once a brilliant computer programmer.
In an experiment of the creation of a prototype deep learning AI the computer connected to the Expanse — the space between universes — and a daemonic entity came through. Unable to communicate with each other, the entity grew hostile and attacked Stephen, and crippled him. This attack drove Stephen to abandon his previous project and worked toward the Demon Summoning Program with help from his previous AI project to better communicate across dimensions.
Over the course of several years, the deep learning AI, Maxwell, was able to reconstruct the common language used before the confusion caused by the fall of the Tower of Babel. During the years Maxwell was building the library, Stephen repeatedly made connections with the Expanse until he came across the Axiom [Great Will]. This contact with the Axiom [Great Will] gave him immense power, not all of which has been revealed.
He traveled through the universes connected to the Expanse via the Amala Network.
