Yeah, it's really hard to interact with other house leaders when you're not on their paths.
Dimitri, imo, is a pretty good representation of trauma and mental illness. But also he's like a genuinely good person with noble intent.
Felix is an asshole. But I'm still love him. Linhardt is just relatable content.
(Also pro tip: Lorenz is… really bad honestly. Steal his relic and give it to Lysithea, and she'll melt everything in her path)

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Yea that's what I had done, Still trying to level up Lysithea and Marianne so they can hold their own tho…
Like, they're great support but they can't take a blow, like, at all.
The side quest where you had to keep Marianne alive to grab a relic was so hard…

@Becfromthedead group

Yeah, that's the thing about magic users. Most of them are incredibly squishy and aren't meant to take hits, so you have to protect them and shoot from as far away as you can.

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Yeah, I'm currently working on Marianne's sword skills, and I'm thinking about making Lysithea be a pegasus rider or smth so I can move her around more.

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

And if it weren't for the fact that Hilda is also not great at sustaining hits I'd have Marianne take the ring that boosts the chances of evasion that I gave Hilda.

@Becfromthedead group

Did you make Hilda a wyvern rider? Usually she's pretty tough, but since Stat growths are partially based on chance, you can get unlucky. You're probably better off leaving it on Hilda and just using other units to block off Marianne. There are also skills that raise avoid (like there's a sword skill that adds +20 to avoid, at S rank I think)

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Hilda is a wyvern Rider,
I use her fro front line attacks, but the only units that can keep up with her are Claude and Cyril, Cyril's still weak and I have him hang back because he'll die too quick,
that leaves only Claude to help her out, so she often gets attacked several times in one turn. So yeah, she's tough, (and GREAT at counter-attacks) but she can only handle so much, hence the avoidance ring.
.
And thanks for the tip! That tells me I'm on the right path with levelling up Marianne's sword skills.

@Becfromthedead group

Yeah, and once you get people on horses (Leonie probably, Marianne if you choose, and Sylvain(??? Can't remember if you said you put him on a wyvern too, that's usually my go to)), you should be good and able to keep up with the wyvern riders.
Bow knight is a good class.

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Leonie went and got herself mounted over the time gap,
Lorenz has done pretty well as a mounted combatant too,
and Sylvain came as the same thing as Lorenz, but better. I usually keep the three of them together because they're good for covering the smaller side routes on most battle maps.
But they don't keep up with the wyverns on maps with chasms and walls, as Wyverns go over them while they can,
so Ailel and the Bridge one? And the maps at the Monastery? Wyverns go way further than mounted units.

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Though Sylvain and Marianne on winger critters is actually a good idea tho… except I need Sylvain to back up Leoni and Lorenz, so maybe one of them?
Maybe I'll just stick Lorenz on a pegasus and see if he stays alive longer.

@Becfromthedead group

Yeah, depending on the map, sometimes the strat is actually to keep the whole team together and use movement on mounted units to hit and run back to the group.
That said, I'm known to play more defensively than most.

Hoenstly that's a good strategy,
I tend to group people up and spread out on the offensive…
I use my long ranged characters to take out stronger enemies so my middle guys can clean up the rest…
Hilda often takes out the leader if she stays alive long enough.

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

The big guy, (I can't remember his name rn for some reason) is pretty good at hanging back and guarding Marianne if she's not with the character representing me, either Marianne or Lysithea, or both.

@Becfromthedead group

Raphael? Yeah, he's pretty tanky.
Usually I just let enemy waves come at me. It wouldn't apply very well in real war because we don't have healing magic irl, but it works for fire emblem

Personally, I prefer pegasus knights to wyvern riders, as wyvern riders have insanely low resistance and they're weak to bows, whereas pegasus knights tend to have more resistance. And about Raphael being tanky but slow, most tanky guys are slow too. But Raphael is super overpowered if you give him gauntlets and level him up. Personally I've never used him much (I'm on my third run through and first I took the church route (stupid me), second the blue lions route (the only one where I actually recruited Raphael), and now I'm going to take the TRUE black eagles route), but when I have used him he's just super strong and attacks like four times dealing about 50 damage with each hit. Strategically, on more difficult maps, I keep my characters so that they're all in one big formation, with each character having at least one other character next to them. My fliers, of course, fly out and take out the commanders, but usually die on the way. Mages are amazing, and I typically make one of my mages get the dancer class, since dancers can use magic, a fact I didn't know at first (coming from Awakening here). Lysithea (I recruited her on my Blue Lions run through) was super powerful, but she was a glass cannon–she died really easily due to lack of hit points and defense. This resulted in me rarely using her, instead preferring Dorothea, Marianne, and Mercedes. Do any of you like bow knights? After playing Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, bow knights in every other game seem super underpowered, but in Three Houses they're…not quite as good as in Echoes, but definitely better than in Awakening or Fates (the other two FE games I've played). Who is your favourite house leader? (Sorry if this has already been covered, but I'm new to notebook and didn't feel like scrolling through three pages of text right now.)

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Do… do you know how to use the enter key? Like… to make paragraphs? (No offense intended but that is a huge block of text and it's hard to read)

Deleted user

Oh sorry! I just forgot to do so! I will certainly use it in the future. Thank you for the reminder!

Not at all! As I hate reading through large blocks of text myself, I don't know why I always forget to make paragraphs (except in my papers for school…)
