(Anywho sips tea as I start this little thingy I’ve been way too excited about over the past few days)

Aelin watched as a familiar face appeared on stage and was met with a surprisingly positive reception. She didn’t quite expect that from the students in this school. But she guessed he was more popular among the ranks than she thought.

As long as he wasn’t a terrible person, he was alright. That was her reasoning. Plus, she already knew Tseth’s opinion of him. Granted, he didn’t always have the best taste.

Tseth didn’t pay attention to whoever walked up onstage.

Well, he didn’t, until he heard a familiar voice.

He looked up to see who it was, just in case he might have been wrong about who it was. Hell. Now that was someone he recognized from last year.

James Hawthorn. They had met soon after Tseth and Aelin joined Suncrest the year before. They didn’t talk very often, but Tseth would be lying if he said he didn’t like him last year. Just a bit. Of course, he had also thought that would have left by now.
. . . To be determined.

Tseth glanced at Aelin, who glanced back at him. She gave him a look that pretty much meant ”Your problem, not mine.” The joys of having a sibling you talk to regularly. She knows everything.

He leaned forward, resting his chin on his hand. This would be a long speech.

Bell looked towards the stage. Some red-haired, tall, very obviously extroverted, senior walked up to the stage and started talking. What exactly about, Bell couldn't tell. Partly because she wasn't listening and partly because she had her earphones at max volume.
Crap, please don't call on me. Please don't call on me.

Bell decided to check on her sister again and found her jumping up and down in her seat as the guy talked. She smiled.
Silly Ditz, already getting excited.

She grabbed her bag and opened the zip where she kept her books, pulling out a copy of one of her favourite books, Mirror Visitor, by Christelle Dabos, and started reading.

After getting her book out, she opened her coffee flask to drink the last of the remaining liquid from the car ride, only to find it empty.
Double crap. Now I'll have to listen to this dude with no caffeine to keep me sane.

Bell put the flask back into her bag and prepared for the worst.

Sal looks up as James begins the speech, loud as usual. Sal leans down to tuck his book back into his backpack, chuckling at James' energy as he spoke. They were the same year, so Sal was quite familiar with James way of doing things. Sal glances over to see how Carey was handling the noise of the crowd, as she seems to always have an issue with that.

Carey sits up as well once James pops up onto the stage She covers her ears as the whole auditorium begins cheering loudly, the noise very annoying, and very loud. She shuts her eyes, trying to ignore the overwhelming sound of the crowd. The opening speech was always so loud…. why did everyone have to scream and shout so much? She takes a deep breath, trying to block them out, and calm down.

Resh leaned back in his seat, cocking his head to the side. He seemed interested, even though he was probably going to zone out after a few minutes. That’s just how it went. But he might as well take advantage of the focus he has now. He shifted his position slightly, sitting cross-legged in his chair.

Daphne pretty much curled up in her seat, hugging her knees to her chest and hunching forward slightly. She stared at the ground, covering her ears. Too many people. Too much noise. It was all too much.

(Sorry about smal respons)
