Bee hummed under her breath as she tried to think up another line to her poem. Her English class was doing a poetry unite, and she was suffering from a bad case of writer's block.
"Mr. Moore?" She raises her hand cautiously, "How would Runic Rhyme work for-"
She's suddenly cut off by the crackling of the loudspeaker, as the loud noise signaling a lockdown blared out.

Hearing the lockdown noise, Maria quickly stands, grabbing Bee's arm as the two move over to the corner of the classroom with their classmates.
"It's just a drill, right?" Maria asks as they kneel on the ground, and Bee notices Mr. Moore's concerned look.
"I don't think they had one planned." She whispers.

Horace groaned as he was forced to put his test tube down. He was just about to finish his science project.
"What the hell is going on?" Dakota, a blonde girl on the cheerleading team complains under her breath. Sometimes Horace wondered how a girl so bitchy could be smart enough to get into the AP science classes.

Rowan groaned at the soren that sounded and closed the many notebooks open on his desk. Each book was for something different, doodling, ideas, rough drafts, and final drafts. He put them.in his bag and looked at the group of students, looking at the teacher who, like the students, seemed to be panicking

Edward put down his marker and ran up to the door. He locked it and turned, pointing a finger out to mentally count everyone in the class.
He hadn’t been informed of a drill, but he didn’t want to say anything until he knew for sure what was going on.

Meanwhile, Lynde was caught out in the hall. She was just in the bathroom. When the lockdown announcement came, she ran to the nearest classroom, which was the chemistry lab and rushed in before the teacher could lock the door.
“What, are they conducting a drug search or something?” she asked.

Mr. Poe was very frustrated at the sudden lockdown. "Ugh, I swear, the next time there's a lockdown, it will be because I'm shooting up this bloody school." His students stared at him, slightly worried. He waved his hands dismissively. "Not really, I'm just upset," he assured them. "Now sit in the corner and be very quiet," he instructed. As the students were huddling into the corner, he began counting. He noted one missing.

"I swear if this is some stupid joke the freshman-" Bee is suddenly cut off by the sound of something big thumping against the door.
A loud groan is barely heard with the sirens still blaring, and whatever was outside the classroom began clawing at the door.
"Holy shit." Some kid whispers.

“It’s alright kids,” Edward soothed, “I’ll figure out what’s going on. Just go back in the corner of the classroom, hide, and be quiet.”
He scanned the classroom for anything he could use for defense, but all there really was were a few pairs of scissors, a stapler, and a yardstick. He hoped nothing serious was wrong, but it was unusual for him not to get word of what was happening.
Edward moved to his desk and opened up his email. Nothing yet. He frowned and helped corral his students into the back corner.

Edward’s Brow was furrowed. He pushed a couple of the desks forwards to block the door.
“I don’t know, just… just stay hidden. We might be under threat.”
His first thought was shooting, but he hadn’t heard any gunshots. He’d always been afraid it would happen here too.

At the sound of the scream, Horace immediately shot to his feet, and his classmates quickly pull him back down.
"Who was that?" He hisses a question to the students, "What's going on?"
In Maria and Bee's classroom, a few students got on their phones to check the news.
"Ohh my god, what the fuck?" One boy asks, staring at his screen. "The testing animals for the AIDs virus escaped and started biting people!"
"The army is talking about releasing nukes!" Another one realizes.
"We're all going to die!"

At the sound of the scream, all of Mr.Poe's students began panicking. He tried his best to calm them down and get them quiet, but a bang at the classroom door did it for him. He opened a drawer of his desk and pulled out his machete. He always kept it with him in case of an emergency. He slowly approached the door and heard what seemed to be groaning. He thought to push it off as some sick senior prank, but it seemed all to serious for that. He quickly turned away from the door and picked up the phone of his classroom. He called Mr. Moore's classroom.

@Becfromthedead group

"No, no," Edward replied softly, "There's got to be some other explanation for-"
The phone rang.
"Now who…? Hello?"
He wedged the phone under his chin.
"Now's not a great time."

Lynde sat towards the back corner of the classroom.
"What the hell…?" she whispered.
She watched the door anxiously. No gunshots… what could be going on?

@Nie-Huaisang-is-lost-in-the-stars group

"What do you mean 'not a great time'? What the hell is even going on!?" He looked at the door in worry. It appeared as if it would fall at any moment. His students grew more worried with each passing second. He thought it obvious that their intruders had no intention of letting up any time soon.

Slowly, cracks began appearing in the door. Students screamed and some even started crying.

"Edward, they, whatever they are, are breaking the door! What in the world am I supposed to do?!"

@Becfromthedead group

Edward’s eyes widened.
“Breaking down the door?! By god, I don’t know! Prepare to beat the ever loving shit out of whoever it is, I suppose?”
He paused for a moment.
“Lynde… is my daughter there?”
Edward quickly looked for a way out. They were second floor, so the window wasn’t an optimal option, but he wasn’t sure there was another way. There was a textbook closet to the side as well, but he wasn’t quite sure what good tha would do either.

@Nie-Huaisang-is-lost-in-the-stars group

"Lynde…no. Last I know, she left for the restroom." He looked at the students for a moment and then turned his attention back to the door.

"Edward. . .I don't think I'll be able to keep all of these students alive," he whispered into the phone. He immediately felt guilty for even saying it.

@Becfromthedead group

Edward took a deep breath, trying to deal with the fact that his daughter had been out. Oh god, what if she had been hurt or worse? But she was a bright girl… maybe she found a way out.
“All we can do is try,” he replied, “And if anything happens… anything at all… it’s not your fault.”
