Btw, how old are all four sisters?

Name: Thranlin Sommer

Title/Alias: the Dark Lady, the Mistress of Evil, the Banished Queen

Appearance: 5'9, darker skin tone than her sisters, green eyes and brown hair that appears reddish in the light. Wears more practical clothing (tunic, fitted trousers, and a skirt) most of the time but loves the chance to don a complex gown in dramatic colors. Hair braided and falling down past her shoulders.

Personality: Arrogant, much less prim than her sister, thinks Adelia isn't capable of understanding certain things because she's too uptight. Likes to mentor people and has been teaching her younger sisters dark magic, although she keeps the most powerful spells for herself so they can never match her strength.

Backstory: Been exiled for around a decade. Lives in hiding in the kingdom beyond Sunshire, and has used her dark powers to gather resources and a following of loyalists who wish to reinstate her as queen.

Powers/abilities: Illusions, magical persuasion but only on people who already trust her a little, summoning dark forces to fight for her.

Weapons: Picked up archery during her exile.

Name: Nathaira Sommer

Title/Alias: The Serpentine Siren

Appearance: 5' 8" with paler skin than her sister's and acid green eyes. She has an elegant figure and white hair styled in a bob. She has a snake (slit and long) tongue and green scales dappling her shoulders. She has, oddly, retractable claws and only 4 fingers (including the thumb).

Outfits: Black and green tunic with black pants, arm cuffs and black and green boots. Doesn't like dresses much.

General Personality: Confident, sly and a bit flamboyant. She is deceptive, cruel and likes to trick people and steal things from them.

Background: Can't think of anything sorry.

Strengths: Great using her weapon, quite clever

Weaknesses: Not very strong on her own, weak to smoke (more so than the average person)

Powers/abilities: Hypnotic voice.

Weapons: A spear made with silver, satin and maple wood.

Theme song: Siren by Kailee Morgue

Other: Nathaira is 32 and is no longer 100% human.

(I know I said I was bringing Reese back, but the theme song gave me a cool idea.)

(Not me using the starter from the other one… O.o)

It was nearly dawn. The sky was dark still, but not a dark to fear. This was a dark that promised light, and those were the least terrifying kinds of darkness. The clouds painted themselves in a series of purples, golds, and orange hues and scattered across the sky. Then the morning sun rose, peeking out from beyond the horizon line and pouring its radiance over all that was good in Sunshire. The elegant spiral towers of the castle especially gleamed in the early glow. Strands of gold twisted intricately together to form a joined image of power and grace.

Inside the castle, a pure quietness hung in the halls since the castle's residents, mainly the servants and maids, had not yet risen from their beds. They all remained succumbed to their sleep and their peaceful dreams. All of them… but one.

Gentle footsteps came from the direction of the queen's private chambers. With skirts flying, the High Queen Consort of Sunshire raced through the empty main hall, eager to catch a glimpse of raw morning haze. She knew her destination: the balcony that overlooked the castle's gardens. Where the sun would poke through the trees at just the right angle at just the right time that she could catch it and let it heal her. Finally, she found the doors she was looking for. Taking the smooth golden handles in her palms, she flung the doors open wide and stepped onto the gorgeous balcony.

Sights like these were rare. The pure morning sun was just beginning to rise, and with its arrival, the sky began to blush. Adelia sighed quietly and lifted her fingers up into the light. She had to stretch a bit (she had been running late), but the moment the light brushed her hand, a sense of peace washed over her.

"Let the light lift you," her mother always told her.

Adelia closed her eyes. "Lift me," she murmured and felt instant reprieve. A sweet breeze filled her lungs, and after a few moments, she exhaled softly. Her eyes fluttered open, and a smile was born on her lips. Another blessed day.

T'was dawn, only a few moments after the reigning queen had awoken. Nathaira had her latest victim, a man who seemed to be in his 20s and had jet black hair, chained to a chair in a dingy old dungeon. The dungeon was dark enough that no ordinary human could see in it, really only her. She refused the man a single candle, even one to warm him up; she was never a fan of smoke. Though she had claimed to love the man, simply as a trap to lure him here, she quite rejoiced in seeing him squirm and try to escape.

With a gleaming smirk, she let a beautiful melody out of her throat and the man stopped squirming. At first, he just stopped moving to listen to her voice, but that soon changed; this was a normal thing aspect of her voice, especially this particular song. Then, as though her song had stopped, he started moving again; something about him didn't seem normal, at least not if he weren't charmed. Her pupils contracted as she noticed his eyes swirling in tones of blue, green and black. She immediately stopped her song, though the swirling eyes and the man's struggling kept.

She wasn't surprised, this was what the song did after all. She wanted to rejoice in his full agony. She unlocked the chains and let the man get up, only for his skin to start peeling and melting into itself; he was quickly rendered unable to walk. Blood oozed out of his eyes, nose and mouth, quite quickly compared to the others who heard the song of death. Within a few seconds, he was rendered breathless, lying on the floor already half-rotted and a bloody mess.

"I guess I'll give him to Kathrina now."

Thranlin paced the halls of her castle. She had never fallen asleep; as the sunbeams rose through the high windows, she frowned, imagining Adelia across the kingdom wrapped in peace. Thranlin had never known peace. Darkness raged in her veins, and even while lying still her soul vibrated with the intensity of the magic. The price to pay for power.

Thranlin walked to her sister's chambers and threw open the doors. She found nothing but scattered objects. Where was Nathaira? Was she up to her games again? Thranlin sighed, moving to fix the bedsheets and replace a book on the shelf. As Thranlin headed back down the stairs, she passed Katherina's old room. Kathrina had been gone for so long, and yet Thranlin still heard echoes of her footsteps. Her younger sister would be arriving again any day now. It was time to attack Adelia once and for all.

Thranlin descended into the unlit dungeon, casting dark magic before her that twisted until it formed a pale illusion of light. With the dim purple glow, she followed a sound of haunted singing that met her ears until she came to Nathaira's favorite cell, the one in the very back, because of course Nathaira had learned the art of fear well.

Thranlin grimaced at the pile of flesh that had likely once been a man. She held the light up to Natharia. "Who do you think is going to clean this up, sister?"

Kathrina’s summoned skeleton horse fell apart as the sun rose. She sighed, glared at the rising sun, then went into the forest next to the road. The trees blocked a good amount of the sunrise, thankfully, and allowed Kathrina to summon another skeleton horse.

She urged the creature into a trot, wanting to get to her sisters as quickly as possible. It had been so long since she’d seen them, and Kathrina was ecstatic to finally reunite and be rid of their fool sibling Adelia. The moment she’d received the news, she had started packing, and had brought as many supplies as she possibly could. Zakrith, the dear friend that he was, had offered to help carry anything else.

A cruel smile grew on her face as she thought of Zakrith. Thranlin and Nathaira would finally get to meet the ghoul. And, he was a loyal servant of Darkness. He would gladly join in the fight, or, if that didn’t work out, find some other way to help. Zakrith was such a dear.

After a few more minutes to revel in the joy of seeing her sisters again, Kathrina focused on the journey. She still had a ways to go, and she planned to get much closer before stopping to rest.

"I will," she said frankly, "well, the blood anyway. The corpse'll be a gift for Kathrina." She picked up the bloody melted corpse and placed it in a barrel, grabbing a mop nearby said barrel as she did.

You'd never know that people had been trapped here, she cleaned it up quite well. It was something she was okay at, though it wouldn't help her in battle.

About an hour later, Adelia was dressed in much more queenly attire than her pale green nightgown and strolled through the castle's halls. Her faithful head maid Jovie kept near to her queen's side.

"Anything I can do for you, Your Majesty?" Jovie asked as they approached the queen's study. It was on the other side of the castle as it was originally designed to be the king's study, and the queen's study was much smaller and closer to her resting chambers. However, both Adelia and Jovie agreed that since Sunshire currently had no king, the queen would benefit from the larger study.

"No, Jovie," Adelia assured her. "I'll be alright."

"Alright, Your Majesty. But if you need anything-"

"Just let you know," the queen teased. "I know."

Jovie looked surprised, but she laughed a little. "I'll be going then, Your Majesty."

Adelia smiled kindly. "And I know you have many responsibilities, Jovie. Go on."

The shy maid nodded and made her way back where she'd come from.

Thranlin watched Nathaira for a moment, then turned away, leaving the dark dungeon. She wondered who Nathaira's victim had been, and who would miss them; it didn't matter, in the end, but Thranlin always worried. Her allies were not familiar with her sisters for a reason; her sisters did not hold back.

The impending attack on Sunshire consumed her thoughts. With Kathrina and Nathaira by her side, she knew she could overtake the kingdom; Adelia was her greatest concern. Had she cultivated others with powers to oppose her eldest sister? Was she preparing just as Thranlin was? The queen of Sunshire likely thought she was safe, that Thranlin was hiding in the woods and powerless to take back her throne. Thranlin smirked, opening a window and gazing out. Tonight she and Nathaira met with the leader of Thranlin's loyalists among the common people. If Kathrina arrived by then, there would be a strong show for her followers.

Kathrina’s skeleton horse trotted along at a good pace. Since it never tired, she was making good time. She repeatedly wondered how Zakrith was doing.

He was likely resting now, but he could easily catch up to her, even if he slept an entire day. He had proved that repeatedly on their journey. She loved that about him.

Eventually, she stopped to take a break and have something to eat. It was quiet in the forest, eerily so. She loved it. Maybe she could find some new friends here, or even some poisonous herbs she could use later. It was a pleasant thought, but she still wanted to get to her sisters quickly, so she wouldn’t do too much exploring… yet.

When she finished eating, she packed up all her supplies and resumed traveling. The horse had waited patiently, and it didn’t falter as it trotted along once more.

Adelia watched Jovie walk away, her eyes soft. She turned back to her study, opened the door, and went inside.

Thoughts, ideas, conversations all floated through her mind as she worked her way through mindless policies for her people. She continuously sipped on her tea to keep herself awake. She hadn't been able to sleep last night (not that she would admit it to Jovie or anyone else for that matter). Adelia found her sleep becoming less frequent, and when she would finally manage to doze off, she slept restlessly. This was why she needed the raw morning light to refresh her every morning. However, sipping on her tea didn't do much good to erase another restless night, and the queen nodded off into a light sleep over her papers.
