She started to panic slightly, but she kept herself composed. "Okay Cain, tell me what to do to help you and I'll do it. If anything I can stay here with you" she says taking a deep shaky breath.

She gulped,"so he's a vampire" she whispered

“I didn’t say that…” Travis defended. He quickly gave in, realizing that it was better just to swear her to secrecy instead. Hopefully Cain wouldn’t kill him for this, but then again if his brother never found out, then he wouldn’t kill Travis. “Okay, well you figured it out. I didn’t tell you. And if you tell anyone, Cain will kill both of us, got it?”

" You mean that psycho who was gonna make you choose me or your family you should've choosen your brother why did you choose me?" She asked.

Travis blinked, not prepared for the question. “It wasn’t like that…Cain’ll come around,” Travis responded, wanting to believe it. “Eventually. Besides, I can’t hurt an innocent person. I just…can’t.” As he said this, he was intensely aware of the shadows under his eyes and how hollowed out he must look from his diet of solely animals.

"I'm not Innocent by any means" she said .

"What do you mean by that?" Travis asked, looking into her eyes. "Besides, your innocence or lack thereof doesn't matter. I'm not going to sacrifice anyone to my brother."

Tyler looked around she grabbed his hand and pulled him along to the schoolyard

"Where are we going?" Travis asked, glancing down at their hands for a moment before looking back up at Tyler, blushing slightly.

She led him to a shaded tree and pushed him against it.

"Um…Tyler? What are you doing?" Travis asked, lifting an eyebrow. He was growing more confused and nervous by the minute.

" I'm trusting you don't make me regret it" she said she took a step back her eyes became purple the leaves on the ground moved around them in the air in a circular motion

Travis inhaled sharply. So I was right earlier… he thought, his eyebrows raising at the show of power. But what is she?

" Witch" she muttered and started to walk off.

"Wait, Tyler," Travis said, holding out his arm as if to stop her. "Don't leave yet." His expression looked almost pleading.

She looked at him " okay… What?"

"Can we talk?" he asked. "Like, I want to know more about your abilities, if you're okay with that. And I can tell you about mine. And no offense, but you need to get better at hiding them. I almost caught you today, and my brother knows something, I'm sure. Though in all honesty, that's a bit hypocritical of me since I'm clearly awful at hiding my secret."

" I can't control what you saw…I just can't" she said turning away again.

"Okay, but don't you want to talk about this?" Travis asked. "I think we should talk about it. I don't want my brother or his idiot friends trying to hurt you."

" why not it be better that way you said he wants my blood I'll give it to him" she said

"What are you talking about?!" Travis asked, his eyes wide. "Why would you do that?"

" because your relationship with your brother would be good and I wouldn't be useless at least untill he drained me" she said

"You're not useless," Travis argued. "And besides, it's too late to fix that right now. I'll think of another way. Cain already knows that I'm not just going to give you over to him or anything. You'll only make him suspicious and give him power that he doesn't need." Clearly, Travis didn't realize just how much his brother was suffering, even though Travis hated being so out of touch.

She sighed and ran a hand through her hair . She took a deep breath.

"Promise me that you won't hand yourself over to him, okay?" Travis begged her, hoping that she would actually listen to him. He blew his hair out of his face.

She sighed " alright I promise"

Travis sighed with relief. "Thank you," he replied, looking like a weight had been lifted off of his shoulders. He smiled at her.

She smiled back at him almost lovingly.

Travis blushed at the intensity of her gaze. He glanced at the ground for a moment, embarrassed, before looking back up at her.

Tyler giggled shaking her head.
