“I’m Lorelei, call me Lori.” she introduced to the others before gesturing between the smaller man and the unconscious guy. ”What happened between the two of you? Do you happen to know where we are?”

@The-Magician group

He squinted his eyes over at her and let out a small growl. "They will kill you without fucking hesitation. I'm not puttin' a leash on shit, 'cause bein' high-strung is the only thing keepin' me alive right now."

Instinctively, Eden shied away, trying to hide herself from the guy. Great, he's angry at me… "I'm sorry, I just.." she couldn't get the words out, so instead stared at the ground, allowing the others to talk.

Laura was running, running towards the roar she heard, no longer towards the sunset, though that appeared to be her direction anyways Finally arriving, out of breath, she sighed. "What the hell happened here?"

@The-Magician group

That voice… Eden recognised the voice. She opened her mouth to say something, but thought again. The man's harsh tongue made her feel weak, like a child being scolded by their parent. All she did was stare at the woman with a wide eye and a shy smile.

@The-Magician group

"A cat?" Eden asked, a little surprised by the question. "Why would you be looking for a cat?" Now that she thought about it, she had wondered, at first, where her little tarantula had been and now that she was sure it wasn't a dream, the fear crept through her that perhaps Ara had been killed due to the climate. Hopefully that wasn't the case.

@saor_illust school

"she's my pet. i lost her, and i don't know how long i've been out here," worry appeared in laura's eyes. was izzy okay? what if she'd died? how long was she out cold? where was this place?

@The-Magician group

Eden knelt down in front of the woman, gently resting her hand atop her shoulder. "I can see you're scared," she murmured, looking deep into those worried eyes. "We all appear to be in the same situation as you, and I'm sure that if we stay together we can find at least one person who knows what on earth has happened." Poor girl, her pet clearly means a lot to her…

@saor_illust school

She gave a small noise of recognition. "okay…" was she really telling the truth? would they be able to band together and… help each other out? she'd never seen this woman before in her life, and now she was offering her help? wow… was there really nowhere else to go?

Luce skipped over to the group, sensing their distress, he put on a happy facade. "Hello! Does anyone have any clue what is going on and where we are because I don't." He grinned at the guy who was fighting. "Awesome fight by the way, sorry I wasn't much help."

@The-Magician group

"None of us do." Eden turned to the new person who had just joined them. He was the fifth. She had a feeling that no one else had come with them, this was everyone. "All any of us know is that we are not at home, some of our pets seem to be our main priority, and there are creatures that apparently want to kill us."

@FanfictionFanatic group

”Yeah. That about sums up the situation.” Lori nodded looking at everyone. ”Question is now; who is everyone and how did we get here? Oh! And How The Heck do we get home?” she asked with a slight frown and furrowed brow.

"There ain't no way home," Dionysus spoke, rubbing the side of his face. His temper had cooled. "At least not right now. Ain' nothin' but sand in every direction."

@The-Magician group

Eden's eye widened in terror as she stared at the man with the scar. "No way home right now?" she mumbled, her voice shaking a little. "You mean to tell me that we're stuck in the desert with mutants who will us at every chance we get?"
No sooner had those words left her mouth, the creature that had been unconscious on the ground slowly started to pick itself up.

Without hesitation, Dionysus pushed Eden aside and smashed his heel of his shoe as hard as he could into the head of the mutant.
"Stay down," he growled, aggression turning his face a deep red.

@The-Magician group

Tears filled the corners of Eden's eye. One, for being pushed aside, and two, she hated it when creatures were hurt. Even if this particular one did want to kill them all, she didn't like the idea of it being wounded. "Please stop…" she whispered, though she knew it was in vain.

Dionysus backed up, turning to Eden with a mean look on his face.
"Fine," he said as the mutant began to get back to its feet. "Let's see what will happen if I let it live."

@The-Magician group

As the mutant rose up, it shook it's head a little in confusion. Then in anger. The blows dealt by the man had clearly ignited something inside it.
It made its way for him, letting out the same harsh roar it had done so earlier. Just as it opened it's jaws, about to take a bite from the man who had attacked it, Eden stood in front of him with her arms outstretched. She didn't know what had made her move to defend him, but she felt it was the right thing to do. A tingling ran over every hair on her body, and as the creature would have touched her, it didn't. Well, it did touch her, but nothing pierced her skin as she would have expected it to do.
"Go on," she hissed to the others, "Just get out of here."

@FanfictionFanatic group

”You are nuts.” Lori hissed softly as she moved to stand next to Eden. She fixed the large man with a cold fierce glare as a chill ran over her skin. ”You don't want to hurt us.” she said with a surprising amount of confidence.

@The-Magician group

While Lori was glaring, the creature made a dive for her, but Eden had already pulled the woman away and it crashed into the ground. By this point, it was furious. It let out sort of a screeching howl, which was followed by noises of the same kind but from different directions. It was calling for backup!
"We need to get out of here now!" Eden shouted, glaring daggers with her visible eye.

@ZephirFox8812

"I agree! But, where? This is a desert, there isn't anywhere to go!" Luce argued. He felt panic welling in his throat. He felt trapped. "I need my fucking ferret" He hissed to himself. It was sort of a therapy animal for him, and it knew his schedule better than he did.

@The-Magician group

She thought for a second, dodging the oncoming attack from the creature. "Perhaps we can hide in the mounds I awoke beside, the creatures are much too big to even get through the doors and they look sturdy enough to hold." Eden approached Luce with a firm expression. "Look, getting stressed isn't going to do any of us any good. Perhaps when we get to somewhere a little safer then we can talk about the ferret, but right now isn't the time."
In the distance, two more creatures were crawling their way to the group, screeching and howling.
"Why is it so damn hard to run away?" she spat, glaring at the others. "Just move your freaking feet and go!"

@saor_illust school

Laura glared at Eden, not liking her harsh tone, but took a couple steps away from Eden. "You don't have to be so harsh," she remarked. "But come on, we should go."

@ZephirFox8812

"Which way?!" Luce called to Eden. Before she had a chance to answer, he slid between the creature's legs and leaped up onto its back. He stabbed a particularly sharp stone into its shoulder. It shrieked and threw him off. He fell forward and came up rolling, blood seeping out from under his hairline.
