"Krystal, you said you have never met any old woman in these woods?" he asked, crossing his arms.

"No, and I've lived here a long time and explored thoroughly," she replied, then her eyes widened "Wait, Harry, have you ever seen that hound and the old women at the same time?"

"Well yes, when I met her she had it, but then it ran off and she asked me to find it."

"I think something is very wrong with that, but I can't quiet think why."

"Well," Krystal said, going to sit under one of the large trees, "I thought the woman and the hound might have been one and the same, but that's not possible if you saw them together."

"Maybe they were both shifters?" Harry suggested.

Krystal cursed, "That's possible, and it's not good. A single shifter is one thing, more than one on this side of the border is another. Harry, would you mind using the pool so I can see what the old woman looks like?"

"Sure thing." Harry said, and he walked over to the pool.

she handed him a dagger, "Just a small prick, like Scarlet."

Harry nodded, and pricked his finger. Slowly, he let the blood drop into the pool.

"Show us the old woman," Krystal intoned.

The surface of the pool shimmered and the image changed…

/An older woman approached Harry along the path, a dog at her side. They stop and talk for a moment, just pleasant conversation. Then, her dog sticks its nose in the air and runs straight toward the town.
The woman becomes distressed and attempts to follow her dog at a slow pace. After offering to get the dog for her and meet her back at the edge of woods when he got it, Harry chased after the dog.
As he ran away, the woman reached up her hand to wave at him. On one of her fingers was a twisted silver ring./

the vision ended and the pool stilled.

"That's who I nicked the ring off of," Scarlet murmured in surprise.

Harry turned to her. "Seriously?"

She nodded. "It was early, a couple hours before noon, at the market. It was pretty easy, actually." Scarlet said, eyes bright with realization, "Almost like she wanted me to take it."

"Maybe she wanted you to take it, because she knew that it would poison us. Maybe she knew we would meet, and she wanted to kill one of us off."

"But I put it on at one point, and it didn't do anything to me," Scarlet said with confusion.

"Well, Shifters and humans are immune to the poison on the ring," Krystal said, "It's a magical poison that only effects certain creatures."

Mozos stood silent, who would want to kill them? And how did they know that they would be together? They hadn't even gotten together until a couple of hours prior." Whoever did it, they must be extremely smart, strong, psychic, or all three."

"They wanted to get me," Krystal muttered, then said louder, "I need to leave. RIght now."

Harry looked at Krystal. "No you don't. We have to stay together. And Mozos, I think your right. This person is CRAZY smart."

"No, you don't understand," she said, panicking on the inside, "You aren't safe with me here."

'this cannot be happening again' she thought

"What do you mean? Why not?"

"the Shifters, they're coming for me again," Krystal said, panicking, "Somehow they knew I would run into Scarlet. They set it all up and they likely had a way of knowing when I reacted to the poison."

"Krystal." Harry went over and grabbed her shoulders. "Screw safety. We're sticking together. Okay?"

"thEY WILL KILL YOU," she shouted, then softer, head hanging, she said, "I won't let anyone else die because of me."

" But it's not like anything will really hurt us if we stick together, I mean we have (these are all paraphrased to Mozos perspective, please tell if I wrote anyhting wrong ) a dragon lady, a Nonbinary warrior, a sorceress, an(angel ?(aviant ?( I'm not really sure))) and a demon." Mozos said.

(i mean, Kai is nonbinary, but you're right on everything else)

"None of you have the combat experience I have," Krystal fretted, "I don't want to have to worry about you."
