(here's a writing sample btw,, it's from a different group rp i'm currently in)

Peter was already bored, having doodled some pictures in the sketchbook he kept in his room. The mission had been stressful, sure, but it was a success, so shouldn't they be celebrating right now? At least that was the young man's conclusion. He couldn't get enough excuses to have a good time or throw a party. Birthday? Awesome, time for a party! New crew member? Cool, party time! The anniversary of your cat's first hairball? Good enough for a party!

One of the things about the Lost Boys was that while they were notorious for being clever and capable pirates, they had also had a lot of fun on the ship. They were sort of party boys, though that wasn't something as well known as the rest of the information about them. The best way to decompress after high stakes missions was a nice party or hang out with your crew, after all, especially if it involved alcohol of some sort.

So, naturally, he went about searching for the captain. Peter was still annoyed that he had given the title of second in command, or first mate, whatever one wanted to call it. He'd been thieving pirate for as long as he could remember, so that job should've come naturally to him. Though he supposed it was him who'd deigned to join Luna's crew in the first place. He still thought he was the better pilot, though, but that could just be the god complex talking. Not that he had a god complex. Mostly.

At any rate, the second place he checked happened to be the navigation room. His face broke into a sunny smile the moment he saw her, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Lulu!" he crowed, prancing over to her. He liked to call people nicknames, and their reactions to his nicknames, whether negative or positive, were amusing to him. "We should all get together and throw a party or something! I mean, we just nailed that mission, am I right or am I right? A party would be the perfect way to decompress!"

i'll have my characters up either today or tmr if that's okay! i'm still working on them,, i'm thinking of taking a sidekick slot and the thief slot

@MusicElle-is-here

Full Name: Annalise Holt
Nickname(s): Anne
Role: Thief
Alias: Lady Luck
Age: twenty-four
Gender: female, she/her
Abilities: Unnaturally good luck; her "power" is just her ability to make herself crazy lucky. She can use this power to ensure that she arrives at the perfect time to rob somewhere like a museum or bank, or that the security guard trips at just the right time, or to win money at casinos. Her power can't cause anything to happen that wouldn't happen naturally (like she can't make people forget their skills if they know karate or anything, or convince them to give her something if they never would) but it is extremely useful in dodging attacks or stealing from people.
Appearance:
Body— Annalise stands at 5' 7", being taller than average for a woman, though the heels and platforms she loves make her a bit taller. She has lean muscle, built like a gymnast, and can do gymnastics. She is quite flexible and agile. Annalise is fairly lithe, with graceful movements, able to be nearly silent when needed. She has a faint smattering of freckles on her shoulders, nose, and cheeks. She has fair skin with naturally rosy cheeks.
Face— The face of an ice queen. She has cold, light gray-blue eyes and a glare that feels a knife pressing into your skin. Despite her constantly slightly flushed cheeks, she looks like she could freeze you with one glance. She has a straight nose and usually wears clear gloss on her relatively thin lips. Could be considered pretty if one looks past the sheer intimidation and rbf. She has an oval face shape.
Hair— Annalise has long, strawberry blonde hair that falls halfway down her back in soft waves. It's naturally a little wavy, but she puts care into looking nice most days and making the waves look pretty. She has light layers in her hair so that the front strands tend to frame her face a bit.
Clothes— She tends to go all out for her costume with the typical black skin-tight getup. Her costume is a black jumpsuit that has spaghetti strap sleeves and a black belt. She wears a black fishnet shirt underneath the top part of the jumpsuit, which by her luck never gets caught on anything despite being a bit impractical. She also pairs this with some black platform boots (these platforms are low enough for her to be able to move around in) and ties up her hair into a ponytail. She also wears a black mask over the top half of her face. For normal wear, she tends to dress stylishly, with lots of black and lots of platform or high-heeled boots. Annalise looks a bit like a fashionista who never quite got out of her emo phase.
Extra— She is always wearing winged eyeliner, though sometimes she is more fancy with it and does cool designs. She also has three ear piercings on each ear.
Personality: Her personality changes slightly depending on who she's talking to, but usually she is teasing and flirty. She will mock her opponents relentlessly, liking to make people angry. To potential allies, she is slightly more serious and cold until she feels in control of the situation. Annalise can also be quite sarcastic. Her moods can change quickly, being quite mercurial in temper and occasionally volatile. She gets frustrated and angry easily, though she is good at hiding it until she's alone. Excellent liar and actress. Half of the words out of her mouth are lies. She's skeptical and distrusting of most people, and generally doesn't like people much anyway. Most of her teasing or flirting is to get a reaction of people because she finds it funny.
Strengths: Lying, sneaking, being nearly silent, gymnastics, hand-to-hand combat, fashion.
Weaknesses: Impatient, quick to anger or be frustrated, very slow to trust and skeptical of everything, a bit of a narcissist.
Likes: Gynmastics, stealing, winning, gambling (shocker-she always wins), watching dramas on Netflix and getting very into them, smoothies.
Dislikes: Losing, people calling her out or calling her bluff, people who don't respond to her teasing, overly earnest people, bad fashion choices.
Backstory: Annalise was raised by a single mother, her father having left them when she was only two years old due to her mother's narcissism and manipulative nature. Younger Annalise idolized her, wanting to be just like her when she got older. However, things got really bad for them when her mother was fired from her job. Luckily (lol get it), Annalise's newly manifesting ability would come in handy for them. It started out with a couple of candy bars and sandwich ingredients so they would have something to eat, but eventually they began to rely on Annalise's thieving skills and luck. Soon, Annalise began to get better and better at cat burglary and thieving in general, being the sole provider of the family. As she got older, she began to see the bad in her mother, not wanting anything to do with her the moment she started to see who her mother truly was, vanishing overnight without a trace. People looked for her, but they never found her. Annalise tried to get by on her own without thieving at first, but she had never been good at any school subject and she missed the luxury that thieving gave her. She started to steal, little by little, until she'd saved up enough to really escape. But by that time, she realized how corrupt things were and decided that her lifestyle wasn't any worse than many other people's, especially if she did things Robin Hood style. At first she actually did do that, but as she got better at stealing, she became addicted to it, craving the high that came from thievery, the more expensive and well-guarded the item the better. She forgot her original goals and started living just for thrills. Which she does now. Annalise doesn't do anything for other people unless they pay her handsomely, though sometimes just the challenge is payoff enough for her. She is really hard to predict and sort of just does her own thing, so she would have to be convinced to do anything for someone else's gain.
Other:
-she's bisexual asf
-she owns a lot of jewelry, especially diamonds
-her birth name is actually Lucy Finch, but she changed it as soon as she could with forged papers to avoid the police looking for her (since she was only seventeen when she ran away)
-she loves seeing herself in the news (though by sheer luck, it's usually only glimpses, nothing recognizable)

Full Name: Marco Torres
Nickname(s): many of his high school friends called him Torres
Role: sidekick
Alias: Hemlock
Age: eighteen
Gender: male, he/him
Abilities: Plant manipulation; he can cause plants to grow or shrink as well as maneuver them. In addition to this, he knows a lot about plants in order to make the best of his ability and has been working on making poisons and antidotes in his free time.
Appearance:
Body— Marco is built like a football player, since he played for his first three years of high school. However, he stopped playing to concentrate on superhero work. He has lots of freckles covering his body, and warm brown skin. Despite his football player build, he has surprisingly nimble fingers. He is also quite tall, standing at 6' 1", so his build might make him slightly intimidating at first glance, though is very much not.
Face— Just by looking at him, you can tell he's kind, with soft dimples when he smiles and a tiny bit of baby fat left in his cheeks. Marco has warm brown eyes and long eyelashes for a guy. He has full lips and a smile that lights up his whole face.
Hair— Marco has a wild mess of chocolate brown curls that never seen to do what he wants them to. He shaved the under part of his hair in an attempt to wrangle it, but he left it long on top because he loves it too much to shave off all of his hair.
Clothes— His costume is still a work in progress, seeing as how he's fresh out of high school and just started working as a sidekick recently. For now, what he wears out for patrol is a plain, fitted white shirt with green pants and standard brown boots that are quite comfortable and easy to move in but plain. He also has a utility belt of sorts that he fills with poisons he's working on. He also wears a green mask to hide his identity. For day to day clothing, Marco generally wears pretty basic clothes like t-shirts and jeans, though sometimes he'll get creative and wear a sweater or collared shirt, or perhaps some more fun, patterned pants.
Extra— A bit of a sneakerhead, so he always has cool shoes.
Personality: Marco is friendly, open, and warm, at first very excited to join the superheroes as a sidekick until he learns the ropes. However, he's beginning to see the corruption and danger that they hide from the public, leading him to become a bit disillusioned. As of right now, he still wants to become a superhero so he can try his best to fix things. He is also trusting and chatty, willing to strike up a conversation with anyone who will give him the time of day. He may be new to the whole scene, and a bit on the gullible side, but Marco isn't stupid. In fact, academically he's quite bright, being really good at chemistry and science in general. He's a little bit of a nerd.
Strengths: Good at chemistry, smart, energetic, trusting, loyal, friendly, charismatic.
Weaknesses: Not the best at actually fighting, gullible, bad at making decisions, poor self esteem, hides his feelings.
Likes: Plants, eating healthy, science, talking (especially about whatever he is particularly interested in), making new friends, learning, reading, video games.
Dislikes: Being played for a fool, ice, people underestimating him, inconsiderate people, slow walkers.
Backstory: Marco is an only child with two parents who care about him very much, and since he has no siblings, he has become quite close with them. When Marco was ten (so eight years ago), a fairly new hero rising in popularity known as Embers saved his father when his dad's office building was attacked by villains. Ever since, Marco has idolized heroes, especially Embers, and has wanted to be one so he can save people as well. Marco's parents aren't exactly strict, but he was raised to be somewhat naive, and his friends in high school ended up teaching him a lot. He didn't even realize he was gay until mid-high school. Of course, as soon as he figured that out, everything seemed to click. He had his first (toxic) relationship in high school and managed to get out before he graduated, though he still sees his manipulative ex in public on occasion. Marco was a good football player, being the running back of his high school's football team until he quit his senior year to pursue heroism further. He was somewhat popular in high school, being well-liked. He liked high school enough, but he was glad to be out of it, and when he discovered that his mentor was going to be none other than Embers, it was one of the best days of his life. He started interning with her with an excited mindset and lots of energy, though the longer he works as a sidekick, the more he's starting to see the corruption in hero society and the bad side of it all. The life that once seemed so perfect is slowly starting to reveal itself to be far more complicated and dark than Marco was expecting, including within his own family.
Other:
-he's gay
-plays video games over discord with his friends and some random people (unbeknownst to him, hypnos is one of said random people,, his username is ember, based off of a certain hero)
-he has seven different plants in his room
-he's a hopeless romantic
-his favorite food is snap peas,, also strawberries

(I love these characters so much, oh geez— and yes you absolutely may. I'm sorry I haven't finished my own sign-ups yet but I swear that's my goal this week. Finals have just been coming up and whatnot, but once that's over I'll have time to focus on this and we can actually, yknow, get started. I just don't wanna start too early and let it die.)

But anyway, life happens, so you guys don't have to be in a huge rush to get up any more characters you want. I am honestly super excited to get this thing going and cannot wait.

@gracehustle

(Just a heads up, I think I'll try to take one of either the hero or the last rouge spot for my other character….maybe both if I'm feeling daring)

@MusicElle-is-here

(maybe i’ll spice it up and be both bc i like my concepts so far,, an energetic n kinda overbearing flame gal to be marco’s mentor and a chronically sleep-deprived n emotionless gambler)

@MusicElle-is-here

Full Name: Zella Hino
Nickname(s): n/a
Role: Hero, mentor to Marco
Alias: Embers
Age: twenty-seven
Gender: female, she/her
Abilities: Zella can produce flames from any part of her body by setting it on fire. She is immune to fire and cannot get burned by herself or any other kind of flames. She cannot manipulate existing fire, though if she were to get close enough to it, she can absorb it and get a boost in power from it to her own flames (though of course there are limits to this ability, there is only so much fire she can absorb before it gets to be too much, which could potentially be lethal to her).
Appearance:
Body— Zella is a bit more heavy-set than Annalise, having a somewhat hourglass body type and lots of muscle (think Mirko from MHA, but with normal feet) with bronze skin. She is average height, standing at 5' 4", and has average-sized hands and feet. She usually keeps her nails short but likes to paint them bright red or sometimes yellow if she's in the mood.
Face— Zella has brown, almond-shaped eyes that she likes to accentuate with eyeliner, eyeshadow, or both, depending on the day, usually in warm colors. She has full lips with a pronounced Cupid's bow and slightly arched eyebrows. Zella always looks animated, having dynamic facial expressions and mannerisms. She usually wears only a little bit of makeup, except when she is feeling fancy and goes all out with her eye makeup. She has a few scattered freckles on her nose.
Hair— Her hair is interesting, because instead of regular hair, Zella has flames. Bright red-orange fire makes up her collar-bone length hair, which is interesting to watch her style. She typically wears it in a ponytail with the front strands in braided. (now that I think about it, her hair is super similar to burnin' from mha rip)
Clothes— Her hero outfit is, of course, flame proof, or else things would get awkward quick. She wears a bodysuit that starts out light yellow at the top and goes from yellow to orange to red at the bottom, with her knee-length boots being dark red. The bodysuit is has a halter top, with a dark red cropped jacket over it. This isn't for warmth so much as protection for her arms, though Zella has a tendency to take it off during battle when she gets annoyed with it, which in turn annoys the hell out of her costume designers. Normally, she tends to wear whatever is comfortable, leaning towards a somewhat skater-like style, but she is surprisingly good at dressing up when she needs to.
Extra— She has a lip piercing, two ear piercings in each ear, and a flame tattoo on her right forearm.
Personality: Zella is extremely protective, instantly acting like an older sister towards anyone who looks they need it (I would say maternal, but while Zella is protective, she isn't exactly nurturing). She is passionate, wanting to help people in any way she can. She is also quite selfless and outspoken. She loves the spotlight, and is a fairly well-known and well-liked hero for her straightforward manner and caring nature. Zella is actually really forgetful, and has just started to go along with it when people thank her for saving them, even though she doesn't recognize them most of the time (but she will never admit this). Also constantly losing things like her keys or phone. She is loud, honest, and doesn't hold back with her feelings on a given topic. Terrible at reading the room. Firmly believes that offense is the best defense.
Strengths: Passionate, selfless, confident, powerful, protective, caring.
Weaknesses: Forgetful, blunt, overbearing, terrible at subtlety, doesn't always think before acting/speaking.
Likes: The spotlight, helping people, food, talking, working out/training, dancing (terribly), watching reality tv (guilty pleasure), sunny days.
Dislikes: Being spoken over, being ignored, the cold, timid people, cowards, people who don't have any enthusiasm, cruel people.
Backstory: Her parents never meant to have a child, but Zella's mother realized she was pregnant several months into dating Zella's father, and her mother kept it hidden as long as she could, unsure how to tell her then-boyfriend (Zella's father). Her mother was Zella's opposite, timid and indecisive. Zella's father reacted badly, leaving her mother. This sent her mother into a depression, but by that time it was too late to do anything but deal with the consequences and have her child. She was convinced she could still be a good parent, but slowly grew to despise Zella, her polar opposite in every way, taking much more after her father, and in Zella's mother's eyes, the symbol of all of her failures. Her mom began to spiral, becoming an alcoholic and hurting Zella with both language and physically. Zella's mother ended up dying when she was only ten, so she tried to find her father, though her grandparents, who'd taken her in, were against it. They clearly didn't want to be taking care of her, so Zella made it her mission to find her father, only to realize that he was involved in some shady deals tying back to criminals and gang members. She figured out that if he were to harbor her, he would try to get her involved in a life of crime as well with her budding powers, and ended up finding refuge with her aunt (her mom's sister). Eventually, Zella's aunt gained custody of her instead of her grandparents, and she was finally able to live in a home with a loving guardian. Part of the reason she became a hero is to make sure that her type of situation never happens to anyone else and be there for those who can't protect themselves. However, she is aware of the corruption and is doing her best on her end to do what she can, even though part of her is unsure whether it can ever truly be fixed.
Other:
-she's bisexual with a female lean
-she will "adopt" any heroes or sidekicks younger than her and take them under her wing whether they like it or not
-she has a motorcycle
-she has a pet shiba inu named Blaze

@MusicElle-is-here

Full Name: Asa Morozov (they do not go by this name, and very few people know them as anything other than Hypnos)
Nickname(s): n/a
Role: Gambler
Alias: Hypnos
Age: twenty-one
Gender: demiboy, he/they
Abilities: Asa can send someone into a slumber with any brush of skin-on-skin contact. He just needs the barest touch of his skin to his target's to use this ability. He can control how strongly they fall asleep as well, being able to send them drifting into a light, fragile doze or a heavy, coma-like slumber as well. He has mastered this ability, making it possible for him to send someone into a coma and possibly even kill someone through just a touch. However, this is a more difficult feat to replicate than he lets on. It is easy for him to send someone into just a plain sleep, but it takes a lot out of him to send someone into a coma, and he still isn't sure if the one time he managed to completely kill someone was a fluke or not.
Appearance:
Body— Asa has a thin, slight build, practically fading into the shadows. They stand at 5' 8", being average height. Their skin is olive-toned, though they still manage to look pale in spite of that. They have small feet for their height, which they never mention.
Face— They have a sharp, angular face that suggests their lack of sleep, eye bags deep under their dark brown eyes. Their eyes are such a deep shade of brown they look almost black, heavy-set and intense. They have a sharp, regal nose that looks almost out of place with the tired facial expressions and lack of energy they put into their appearance. They have arched eyebrows that seem to make them always look skeptical.
Hair— Asa has black hair that is just long enough for them to make a baby ponytail if they want, dyed dark purple at the ends. It is fairly thick in texture.
Clothes— Whatever they can find. Asa is not a snappy dresser, throwing on whatever doesn't look awful together. He does not stand out in a crowd. They have no set "costume" and don't desire one. Does not give two shits about people seeing their face.
Extra— Has one ear piercing in each ear and a tongue piercing.
Personality: Asa is constantly sleep deprived, due his parasomnia (sleepwalking). Whether this is a side effect of his power or completely unrelated is still unknown. He is quite apathetic, not appearing to care about much. He is always gambling because the only way he can really feel anything is the thrill of adrenaline he gets from that or from a battle, but gambling takes less physical energy. He is on the rude side, not caring enough to make any attempt at niceness or friendliness. He hates small talk and will do anything to avoid it.
Strengths: Has honed his power and is a master of it, strategic, smart, thinks long-term in any sort of plan.
Weaknesses: Apathetic, lazy, terrible at social interaction or negotiations, rude, lacks any sort of manners.
Likes: Sleep, gambling, watching television, drawing (sometimes), fighting (also sometimes), video games.
Dislikes: Small talk, people in general, bright lights, loud noises, people interrupting them, people with too much energy, any sort of social event, being awake.
Backstory: Asa's parents both worked for the same criminal ring as Zella's father, raising his among the underworld of villain society. It was all he ever knew. He was in the thick of the war between the heroes and villains since he was a child, quickly becoming desensitized to blood, gore, and much more. He originally had dreams to get out of there and become a famous comic artist, wanting to create a famous comic series. However, he quickly began to lose hope as he got older, seeing the corruption in both the hero and villain systems. He became apathetic towards most things, losing interest in graphic novels and comics (though he sometimes still finds interest in drawing), no longer caring much about anything, including his own life. As soon as he was eighteen, he left home, wanting to be rid of the influence of his parents. He by no means agreed with them, but seeing what the heroes did, he didn't entirely disagree either. He also hates rogues, thinking of them as heroes who don't care enough about morals so they do whatever they want, and they don't care who they hurt any more than heroes. His parents were disappointed that he wouldn't join in with the mafia-like gang affairs of their criminal ring, but Asa wanted no part of it. However, he didn't care enough to leave the villain underworld of society completely. He still does shady deals of his own, as long as one pays him enough, not caring what sort of deal it is. He's lied, stolen, and killed since he was much younger, so nothing fazes him any more. He spends most of his days gambling and drinking, not giving much care or thought towards anything and having no real cause besides hating everything.
Other:
-demisexual biromantic (male lean)
-his favorite food is chocolate
-was obsessed with Greek mythology as a kid
-plays video games with random people over discord (unbeknownst to him, marco is one of said random people,, his discord username is hades)

(i'm tying a lot of my character's backstories into each other, also if anyone wants to have history with any of my characters, lmk bc that would be interesting to plan out)

@gracehustle

(I finally decided on a rouge, just for the fun of it :) Though I can do a hero as well if a spot needs to be filled. I think this is Dyra for now…though I might add things if it comes to it. Also, I know it mentions it in the template, but just for reference, she's Cass' sister, even if they don't act like siblings)
Full Name: Dyra Tal Easser
Nickname(s): None. If you try calling her anything other than her name or her alias, she will make your death painful.
Role: Rouge
Alias: Dolittle or Speak
Age: 29
Gender: Female
Abilities: Dyra's main power is that she can talk to animals, and most of the time, get them to help her for some sort of reward, though she has a second power that she hasn't really worked with. Her second power is the power to breathe underwater, and she doesn't use it much mostly because she has no need to use it when in the city. She can talk to just about any animal, and she will happily tell you what they say, mostly because the animals never hide their feelings, and she thinks it hilarious to see people's reactions.
Appearance:
Body— To be blunt, Dyra looks like a stick, with the same lack of any curves. She's tall, almost 6'3", and is the size of a twig around. Willowy, lean and lanky are her main descriptions. She's also pale, imagine a shade or two lighter than paper. Her fingers are long and slim, like a musicians, and her body is littered with hundreds of tiny freckles, scratches, and scars.
Face— Diamond shaped face, with a defined jawline, the same slim nose as her sibling, and matching deep blue eyes the color of pen ink. Her eyes are framed by long lashes, and she always looks like she's either lost in thought or pulling a prank. She has soft pink, cupids bow lips and straight set, white teeth.
Hair— Thick black hair, that unlike Cass' is stick straight, though she keeps it cut at her shoulders, so it's out of her face. At the moment, she has the bottoms dyed a deep purple that fades into her usual black hair, a style she absolutely loves.
Clothes— Dyra goes for style over anything. Like a crow, she likes shiny things, specifically jewelry like rings and necklaces. She has a wild variety of style, anything from practically dressing like a hooker to baggy clothes that make her look like a teenage boy. Always tends to dress dark though.
Extra— She has a large tattoo on her back, made of animals like a snarling tiger, a hawk, wolf and more. She also has many ear piercings that are almost always decorated with as many earrings as she can manage to fit in. To top it off, like her sibling, she has scars, though the main ones are one deep set scar on her ankle, like she had been chained in place, and she has two more, each running down the outside of her upper arms. They're twin scars, each a long, thin line dug into her skin from her shoulder to her elbow.
Personality: Most of her personality I plan on getting into in the rp, but to give some general ideas, she's blunt. Not afraid to tell you exactally what she thinks, but also not afraid to lie to her face, which she'll do without hesitation if it helps her. She used to have a strict moral code, unlike Cass, but now it's faded to the point where she basically tosses a coin to decide what she cares about on certain days. Also a very protective friend if you end up in her inner circle, which currently consists of no one.
Strengths: She knows how to inflict pain, and if she gets animals on her side, she's more than a force to be reckoned with. Also knows a fair amount of medical and vetrinary skills, due to the fact that she has become well known among animals to help with injuries.
Weaknesses: She can be hurt and injured just like any human, no special powers at all, and not being able to talk will render her basically useless.
Likes: Music, money, and winning
Dislikes: Red Velvet Cake, vanilla perfume, and spiders (They are skilled liars and never tell the truth)
Backstory: None. Doesn't like to bring it up, and frankly doesn't care too. All anyone knows is that she used to be a hero and that she has a sibling, both of who were subjected to a frankly horrible childhood. She managed to turn her life around though and worked for a hero for a while. No one knows why she was kicked out.
Other: (If it's not obvious, her sibling is Cass, though they rarely talk to each other and will not acknowledge the existence of each other)

  • She's Asexual, though is still open to the idea of a relationship

That would be awesome actually, though how would we go about doing it?
