Ember was a little girl maybe 4 or 5 but you couldn't ask anyone in town, she didn't speak hell she probably wasn't taught how to speak by the looks of ur she was always alone, she looked homeless the poor girl was basically wearing rags. She was never seen in town, only near the woods she seemed to appear out of nowhere and vanish too.
She was walking through the woods early in the morning her stomach growling at her pleading for food but she had none she held herself and kept walking, leaves crunching under her tiny feet she smelt something that made her stop in her tracks, it was food but it was in town she wouldn't be able to get any she had no money, but that didn't stop her from making her way to the market stall that the aroma was coming from, a man selling smoked meat, the girls stomach growled again and she hid behind a box as the man started helping a younger looking woman, she took this chance to creep up behind the stall and take a bit of food but she chose the wrong time because the man turned around to see her eating his merchandise his face went red and she started screaming "THIEF!!" He grabbed her by the arm which made her cry out as he drug her to the middle of the market calling to police/ guards (idk what time frame this is)

Bane was nosing around in the woods, looking for any abnormalities around the city. The thick forests lined the city and also concealed his place of work well. Many dangerous things lurked in these forests around the cities, like demons and werewolves. Bane was in his hellhound form. It was a tall, short-furred wolf, the size of a Shetland pony. He had long fur around his neck, angled ears, and a long muzzle. He poked his nose into a pile of leaves but caught nothing. That was until he caught the scent of a werewolf. A young werewolf would be not trouble, but at the same time, they had no control. Bane followed the direction of the scent, noting that it went straight for the city. This couldn’t be good. The hound dashed off after the young wolf, following her into the cities occasional farmers market.

There were many booths set up, and people trying to haggle for a price. Bane decided a giant wolf walking through wouldn’t be the best plan, not that many would see him anyway. He shifted back into his humanoid form, following the scent of the young wolf. Although, he wouldn’t need to follow it anymore, for he heard the screaming and crying. He watched as the man started to drag the girl over to a few police cars. Bane darted out of his hiding space. This 6’5 hellhound with pointy ears, scruffy black hair, and a strange mark on his cheek. He wore a black jacket with a red shirt underneath, a black belt with weapons hanging from it, black jeans, and combat boots. He also had a beaded necklace around his neck. Although, Bane’s most striking feature was his brown eyes with a splash of blue in his right. And the fact he had three claw marks scorned over that eye.

Bane smiled sweetly at the man who ran the booth. “Let’s unhand the girl and I will pay you for what she took— or I might just punch you instead.” Such a fun job.

Ember kicked and screamed tears rolling down her cheeks the sound of small high pitched songs could be heard from her she looked to the man that had just ran up and looked at his again the man who sold the food was distracted she stopped struggling and lunged forward chomping down on the man's wrist drawing blood,he screamed and she let go of him and he dropped her she darted in between the other man's legs and made a Big line towards the woods her heart was racing, she had never been more scared in her entire life

Bane watched the child struggle, growling at the man. Claws came out of his nail bed. He crept closer to the man, ready to strike him until the little girl bit the man. He watched as the man cried out in pain, abandoning him for the child that just ran under his legs. Bane bolted towards the forest, catching up to Ember quickly, his claws snagging onto her clothes. He used this as leverage to pull her closer to him, holding her with a strong, but gentle grasp. “Hey, kid.” He greeted her. “My name is Bane. I work for a really nice agency. I could feed you and look after you. My husband is nice. Just don’t freak out or struggle, okay? I am not going to hurt. I am going to help you.” Bane smiled. He put Ember down, holding his hand out for her to take. He wasn’t going to force the child upon this but tried to be welcoming. His claws were sheathed.

Ember had made it to the forest before she felt someone grabbed her causing her to yelp trying too get away, she didn't like being touched by anyone. she kicked as cried she had no clue what was going on, she didn't even know what bane was saying she couldn't comprehend it. Once he let her go she slipped away from him on to the ground and turned around to look at him with her amber eyes burning into him. she backed up showing some pretty sharp teeth when he extended his arm. she looked back as his face seeing his smile made her uneasy. her little heart was pounding against her chest and she was breathing heavily, to much running for a kid who hasn't eaten in God knows how long. She stood up and looked at him for a few minutes unsure how to tell him she was okay.

Bane drew in a sharp breath. He tried to calm her, but the screaming and kicking made it hard to help her. He got down to her level, crouching to seem less threatening. He clicked his tongue twice, trying to communicate. The two clicks meant hi. But the young werewolf seemed to be unwavering, her bright teeth flashing at him. Sure he smiled, but his sharp teeth still showed. Bane closed his mouth, a small, gentle growl coming from his throat. This was similar to the growl of a mother wolf. Another few clicks came from him, telling Ember to calm down. He was going to help her. Bane moved closer to the younger wolf, standing up. He scooped up the child quickly, walking towards the woods as he started the trek home.

(I love young ember so much omg I can just imagine her tiny sassy self)

Ember noted the growl but took it differently than he had meant she didn't have a mother so she thought any growling was aggressive and the clicking just confused her she didn't like the way he looked, he looked dangerous which is what he really didn't want him touching her, she backed up as soon as he started to reach forward and did nothing but squirm when he was holding her in an attempt to make him put her down she whined and pushed against him it was very awkward looking and definitely didn't look comfortable for either of them,

Bane pulled the little wolf closer to himself, restraining her from hurting him and herself. “Hush little one.” He placed a hand upon her back. “You will not be hurt.” He cradled her. Bane trekked through the forest. His feet crunched the leaves, alerting small animals of his wake. Leaves fell onto his head and Ember’s head. He shook them off and continued on his way. He carried the small girl to a building made of gray brick. It was quite big, with four other buildings surrounding it. Bane struggled to open the big, thick glass doors, walking into the building. The main entrance room seemed to be a sunroom with chairs, couches, and other means of relaxation or waiting. Bane walked through this clearing, walking through another glass door. Now they were in the main room. The floor was marble tile, the walls were gray brick. They were in the center hall, light shining through. A set of stairs led upstairs, a hall to the left led to the west wing, and a hall to the right led to the east wing. Bane looked to the east, and walked down the hall, emerging in another large room with many doors. This was the medical wing. The hound smiled, went to a door on the right, and opened it up. It was the infirmary, a spacey room with rough, oak floors. It seemed as if decades of shoes had trampled over the boards. The walls were made up of cream boards, almost the same color as the ceiling. Both sides of the room were bordered by beds with small nightstands. A large cherry wood cabinet stood close to the door on the west side of the room. In fact, there were a few doors strewn about the room. A young, silver-haired man tended to another with a broken ankle. “I’m home!”

She whined but struggled less when being held tighter she looked around listening to birds and the crunching of the leaves beneath her she looked up at bane studying him closely her eyes squinting a bit as she did she long black hair flowing in the breeze covering her face a bit but the bright amber was easily seen through the rich black strands. She eventually fell asleep with her head against bane's chest.

Once bane had walked through the large glass doors she opened her eyes and was surprised to see everything she looked around eyes wide as she looked at the bright shiny floor she wanted to get down and touch it but she couldn't get free from his grasp she whined and extended her arms trying to reach it, but was disappointed when the floor switched from shiny marble to worn out wood, she frowned and look back to see the other door shutting the sound on bane speaking brought her back and she was alert once more looking around the room.

Bane held Ember, smiling sweetly. Jules turned around, looking at Bane. He had fine, silver hair. Sweet, round eyes, the color of the deep ocean, and he was dressed in a long, white lab coat that seemed slightly oversized. He was pretty small, only 5’8 with an elfin figure. Jules laid his eyes on the little girl. “Welcome home, Bane. I see you have brought a guess.” His voice was soft, almost silky. Compared to Bane, he seemed to be really sweet and non-threatening. “Place her on a bed, and we can chat.” Jules placed his hand on the broken ankle, his bright magic coursing through the man’s leg. The bone healed itself quickly, the man sighing in relief. “Alright, Mason, you are good to go now.” Bane watched Jules, turning to set Ember down on a bed closer to Jules and Mason.

Mason smiled. “Thanks, Jules!” He beamed. Mason got up from the bed, stepping on his previously broken ankle. He smiled at Ember. “Hope you stick around, kid.” And with that, he walked out of the infirmary doors. Jules moved over to Bane and Ember. “What happened?” Bane drew in a breath. “I saw this girl getting dragged by a man for stealing food, so I jumped in and stopped him. She doesn’t seem to have a family.” Jules placed his hand upon Ember’s hand. His touch was gentle and soft. “I need to make sure you’re not wounded.” Bane starred at Jules. “And she doesn’t understand speech.” Jules just simply nodded, using simple signs one could understand what he was communicating.

Ember looked at Jules and back a bane, her eyes wandered over to the man laying on the table and she pushed herself against bane watching as his hand started to glow she watched as the man got up and walked towards the door she had no idea what he said but he seemed to be safe but when Jules touched her hand she snatched it back and looked at him with complete terror in her eyes before baring her teeth at him and pushed herself against bane her eyes growing slightly.

Bane placed his hand on Ember’s shoulder. “It’s okay, little one, he won’t hurt you.” He moved to sit next to Ember on the bed, letting Jules come closer to them. Bane gently took Jules’ hand and splayed out his fingers. There was a gold ring on his ring finger. “He’s my husband.” Bane kissed Jules’ hand, and the witch blushed deeply. “He’s safe.” He knew the girl couldn’t understand him, but he didn’t know how to communicate these things. He brought Jules’ hand closer to Ember, placing it on a small wound. Bane nodded to the smaller, and his magic quickly healed the wound. There was no pain, only warmth, and a fuzzy, safe feeling. “See. Jules is safe. Can you maybe say, Jules? J-ules.” Jules simply rolled his eyes. He found it adorable that Bane was trying to teach the kid language.

Ember jumped slightly at the feeling of bane's hand on her shoulder she looked at him with confusion, her eyes followed his hand which grabbed Jules she saw the right and her eyes got big and she tried to grab it not really noticing that the hand was moved closer to her until her touched her arm and her eyes met his and they were glowing brightly brims around the bright amber turning black, this didn't necessarily mean she would attack him or anything she was just being defensive

(Sorry this is short)

@Anxietyfilledcinnamonroll group

Jules drew in a breath, hoping he wouldn’t be clawed by a child today. The wound healed immediately, the bright magic pulsing through her small body. It was warm and cozy, much like Jules’ touch. Bane watched curiously. He didn’t want his husband getting attacked by the small, danger wolf. Jules nervously put his hand to a wound on her face, the same magic pulsing through her jaw. It numbed any pain. “She needs clothes and to be cleaned up.” Bane shot up, smiling like an idiot. “I can get clothes!” Jules looked at Bane like he was an idiot. “Do you even know what size a five-year-old would need?” Bane waved a hand. “Totally!” Jules shook his head, making this easier for Bane. With a snap of the witch’s fingers, clothes materialized. He looked in Ember’s eyes, his soft gaze contrasting from the child’s harsh gaze. “No one will hurt you.” They just didn’t understand that she didn’t understand.

Ember let the warmth consume her and she leaned against band again, she was still hungry but her eye lids were heavy, she didn't even seem to care that Jules moved his hand to her face, it was nice to feel comfortable, she was used to the uncomfortable heat and cold when she was on her own she didn't fully feel comfortable here with these people but it was better than being out there alone,

@Anxietyfilledcinnamonroll group

Bane took her in his arms, looking up at Jules. Jules simply motioned for Bane to lay her down. The hound laid Ember down on the infirmary bed. He sat by her side, singing a soft lullaby. He smiled, looking up at Jules. Jules smiled back and Bane moved over to his husband. A day had gone by. Ember had woken, and the two fed, bathed, and clothed her. Jules tried to work on language skills with her in his office, a cozy space with a desk against the wall. There were tons of Knick knacks on it. The other half of the room had cozy couches and chairs. Bane entered the room. “How is it going?” He asked. They were trying to get Ember on a stable routine.

@Nyx-is-with-frost health_and_safety brightness_7

When bane laid ember down she curled in on her self, sleeping soundly for the first time in ages. She hadn't exactly loved her stay so far except for the food, that was the greatest part, the water would have been more fun without the bubbles, and they smelt atrocious..

Ember was sitting on a couch when bane had walked in she head snapping in that direction as soon as she heard the door knob click. She looked at Jules and then at bane and sat there. She didn't really like the clothes she was in either, they were restricting, cloth pants that felt rough and a T-shirt that she did not agree with what so ever.

@Anxietyfilledcinnamonroll group

Bane simply smiled. Looking at his husband, he looked over at Ember. “Do you want to learn something cool? It might get your mind off of the clothing.” He leaned in the door frame, watching Ember keenly. He wondered what she might try next. Jules looked up at Bane, raising an eyebrow. Bane rolled his eyes. “Don’t worry, dear. I’m not going to take a 5-year-old into detainment. I know it dangerous, and I’m done with that job anyway.” Jules only sighed, and Bane waved Ember over. “Come along, little one.” His plan? Let the 5-year-old play with knives. Although, if Jules found out, he would not be happy. Not one bit.

@Nyx-is-with-frost health_and_safety brightness_7

Ember looked at bane with slight amusement she liked the sound of his voice was funny to her, she giggled and moved to the edge of the couch so she could see him better, she jumped over the arm of the couch and ran over to him and standing behind banes leg and looked at Jules with her tiny glowing eyes and a sinister little grin and then looked up at bane.
