The pet shop Asa found herself in this time was smaller than ones she had been in before; there was a homey feel to it, and she felt relaxed as she laid curled up in her rather large cage. She let out a puff of smoke, liking how it looked in the lighting. She glanced up occasionally when the doors dinged to mark the entrance of a new customer, but she lost interest when none of them came towards her. She had been for sale there for about a week, now; after her last owner had to give her up to move to a "No Pets allowed" apartment building, she had to be checked over by a vet before she could find a new home.

The little bell over the door chimed softly as Ashera walked in. She always loved coming to this particular pet store, even if she never bought a pet before. She looked for the owner for a moment before walking over to several cages with a slightly mischievous smile as she slipped a handful of treats to each of the cute creatures. The owner always took good care of the animals here but Ashera loved spoiling them when she came in.
She paused when she smelled smoke. It wasn't from anything burning and it didn't smell like cigarettes. She searched around before she noticed the green dragon and walked over to the cage.

Looking up when the bell chimed, Asa soon lost interest, standing to reposition slightly, arching her back as she kneaded her bed. Then, sniffing the air, she swung her head around to see the woman who had entered before standing by Asa's cage. She made her way over to the edge of the cage, letting out a small chirp as she stuck her nose towards the woman.

Ashera smiled as she crouched next to the cage, slowly extending her hand. ”Hello there, beautiful. What's a magical Dragon like you doing in a place like this?” she wondered softly with a note of sadness. Ashera, of course, knew how valuable a Dragon was. Not just as a pet either. They were very difficult to capture so if they were still alive after they were very expensive normally.

Asa sniffed Ashera's hand, letting out a toon; she found that people usually thought it was a sign of happiness, so she had taken up the habit of humming it whenever she was happy. Asa butted her head against Ashera's hand, putting on her best "Adopt me!" face. She didn't really not like being here, but she wanted to actually have a home.

Ashera smiled at the sound, ”Who knew Dragons could use puppy dog eyes so convincingly?” She stood up and walked over to the front desk. Honestly, she had been debating on whether or not to finally get a companion for a while. Finally seeing the clerk, she asked sweetly, ”Excuse me, how much is it to purchase the green Dragon?”

The clerk looked up from what they were doing and smiled.
"Five hundred dollars," they said. It was relatively inexpensive, for a dragon. Asa, when she heard the woman discussing how much Asa cost, she twirled in a little circle, letting out another puff of smoke.

Ashera was a bit surprised at the number. It was a very good price for a Dragon, but honestly still expensive. She looked back at the new pet. ”I’ll take it.” she smiled. ”Do you know what the gender or if it responds to a name already?”
She really didn't like referring to the dragon as ”it”.

"This dragon is…" The clerk checked a Ipad on the desk, looking for Asa's information.
"Female. Says she responds to Asa." Asa chirped at her name, putting her front paws up on the cage. Yes, that was her name, now could you please let me out?

The clerk stepped out from their desk, pulling a key out and unlocking Asa's cage. Asa bounded out, circling Ashera and humming again. She sniffed at Ashera's feet, memorizing her sent so Asa could find her if they became separated.

Ashera laughed a little as Asa circled her, running her hand down her back. ”I bet it's been a long time since you’ve flown, huh girl. Well, if you wait until we get home you can fly around all you want.”

Ashera was awestruck by Asa’s scales. She hadn't seen anything like that outside of a prism or other precious gems. ”You really are beautiful.” she almost whispered. There wasn't a car waiting for them, as Ashera preferred walking when she could. ”Home’s this way, Asa. It's not very far.”

Asa, on the walk to her new home, would dart forward a few feet, then turn back and wait for Ashera with a happy demeanor. She would flap her wings every so often, enjoying the feeling of the sun on them.

Asa, in reply, let out a puff of smoke and hummed loudly. She circled around Ashera's legs once before continuing her routine. Now, though, she would fly back to Ashera, butting her head against Ashera's hand.

Ashera laughed, racing to keep up when Asa dashed ahead. ”Ok, you're a much better listener than a puppy.”
The house was finally coming into view. It appeared to be a simple two-story cottage with a small front porch and a very well-maintained garden as she grew a lot of her own ingredients for work.

Ashera ducked her head playfully as they reach the door. ”Fair warning, Asa, I almost always have some kind of music playing. I really only turn it off if I'm going to sleep or if I have to leave for a few days.”

Asa fluttered her wings as she landed, spinning in another happy little circle. Asa had grown up deep in the forest, and it was still hard for her to be alone without some kind of sounds to keep her company.

Ashera opened the door at Asa’s cute antics.
The inside of the house had a cozy feel to it. The living room was very neat and normal looking, decorated with natural colors and had a few ”showing-off” plants with two additional bookshelves near the fireplace.
”Welcome to your new home, Asa. I'll be right back.”
