Cyrin looks at him, taking the key, silent, “Okay, fine.” He slides it into his pocket, smiling slightly. He takes another bite, shifting slight, “Well. It’s nice to know you’d invite me in in the middle of the night when you’re sleeping.”

He chuckles slightly, “That sounds creepy as fuck. . .” He mutters, taking a drink of his soda.

Arthur smiles as he takes the key. "Good. And I absolutely would." No hesitation. He'd invite Cyrin in anytime.

Sixclaw was chuckling internally, pleased. Cyrin had come closer to truth than he realized with that last statement.

"It's only creepy if you're a creep, which… you're not, Cyrin." Arthur's smile softened a bit. "I hope… I hope you don't think I'm one… your friend seemed to think so…"

Cyrin sighs, “Avdey’s always been superstitious. He’s right sometimes and other time’s he wrong. I guess whether he’s right in what he says about you or not, I’ll find out eventually after my whole life is on it’s ass and I’m barely left.”

He flashes a grin, “But for now, I’m still fine. I should care, but I don’t really.” He shrugs, “If I’m making the biggest mistake of my life trusting you. . . Well, then I guess I am. . .” He looks at Arthur, “I just hope he’s very wrong in what he has to say about you. Because then I don’t think life will be very pleasant for me much longer.”

Arthur just gave him a long look, before going back to his food, the look on his face a bit hurt.
"Well… glad to know I'm at least on probation." he said quietly. He'd kinda hoped they were past the point of deep distrust.

Though he could certainly settle for that.

"So. How lond have you known Avdey?" If the guy was going to cause trouble for him, he may as well know about this friend of Cyrin's.

He frowns, “You’re not on probation, Arthur. I said Avdey doesn’t trust you, not me. I trust you.”

Cyrin sighs softly, leaning back and thinking for a moment, “Well. . . I met him when I was. . . Nine, so, longer than a decade.” He shrugs slightly.

Cyrin laughs, “Oh, hell no. The quiet and hard working dancer and the hotheaded and loud fighter? No, God no. We hated each other at first, but eventually, we got along. We found out that though we do diffrent things, we’re still pretty similar.”

@RhysTheFirebird group

“What? I’m not hotheaded. That’s Avdey.” He pauses for a moment, “Well. . . I take that back, I can be hotheaded sometimes. But that’s only with Avdey really.” He laughs softly, “He’s hard working, just. . . Not in the school setting. He was never good with it, he had too much energy and would rather have focused his energy on other things. I always had to help him.”

Arthur had given Cyrin a look when he said he wasn't hot-headed. So far the dancer hadn't been that way with him, but he'd seen it with Avdey.
He nodded sympathetically at Cyrin's explanation. "Kind of you to help. And it looks like it's all worked out for him. He seems successful, well-adjusted, all that good stuff. You're a good friend, Cyrin." He gave his friend a smile.
"I'm glad you guys got along eventually. Everyone needs that close friend." He glanced down at his food, fidgeting for a second. Arthur didn't really have any friends like that.

With good reason, obviously, but no point in admitting that.

Cyrin snickers softly, “Only with Avdey, mind you. He deserves to have his ‘oh so handsome face’-“ He does air quotes, “Smashed in at some point, it’s not like anyone else is going to do it.”

Cyrin smiles slightly, “Yeah, he is.” He shakes his head slightly, “I’m not the best person to be friends with, but, I’m glad he’s stuck around through all my bullshit.” He laughs softly. “I’m sure there’re better people out there to be friends with besides me. But we’re lucky to have each other.”

@EldritchHorror-Davadio health_and_safety emoji_events

Arthur chuckled. "Oh, so you do the face-smashing, huh? Seems kinda backwards." He grinned at Cyrin. "He seems like more face-smashy type."

His smiled turned more genuine. "Hey, you're not a bad person to be friends with. And I'm sure he's happy to be friends with you. He's not doing you a favor, any more than I am. You're a good friend."

@RhysTheFirebird group

Cyrin laughs softly, “Yeah. He needs a nice hit against his big ass ego. Like I said, no one else is going to do it. So I have to.” He grins, finishing his burger and moving onto the fries.

“I know I’m not a bad person, but still, I’ve been through plenty, and Avdey’s been there through all my crap. And it’s been quite a bit, if I must say. . .”

@EldritchHorror-Davadio health_and_safety emoji_events

Arthur nodded. "Sounds like a functional friendship."

His face sobered as Cyrin mentioned how much he'd been through. "Oh? Been through a lot?" He wasn't doubting it, just… curious.
"Also, to be clear, going through a lot doesn't make you hard to be friends with. Just makes you value your friends more, which is good. Depending on the situations, I guess." He was still prompting Cyrin, gently, to tell him about his life.

@RhysTheFirebird group

Cyrin laughs softly, “Eh, it works.”

Cyrin looks down, shifting slightly, “Yeah. . .” He picks at his fries. “I know that, but sometimes, depending on the things, it can make it hard to be friends.” He shifts in his seat, quiet for a moment.

@EldritchHorror-Davadio health_and_safety emoji_events

"I bet it can, but… well, like what?" Arthur kept his expression gentle, voice soft.
If Cyrin wouldn't trust him, really trust him, then none of any of his plans could go anywhere. Though if he could just get the dancer to be open, then… there was so much potential there. Potential for enjoyment for both of them, maybe.
Certainly for Sixclaw.

Cyris sighs, “Well. . . My family wasn’t as well off as we are now when I was born, not that what we have now is well off. . . But, it’s certainly better than four of us sleeping on a couch. When I was. . . Thirteen? Something like that, I got involved with things I shouldn’t have out of desperation. My parents were working sixteen hours a day, and all that money went to the rent. We were starving, most of the food would go to my parents so they could continue to work so we would have a place to live. Anyways, I wasn’t exactly doing anything. . . Legal. . .” He sighs, “I never got too involved, and got busted eventually. I stopped after that. There are some other things, but nothing too bad to have gone on my permanent record other than that.”
