"It is. And in ThunderClan too, I hope." Strangespots spoke, trying to keep his face blank of emotion. He heard Blueblaze mutter something behind him and had to mentally stop himself from whipping around and hissing a warning. Instead, he flicked his tail in annoyance at the blue and red tom to hold his tongue.

The black and white tom studied the patrol again, three apprentices to only two warriors? What were they playing at?

@Spring-was-resurrected-electric-boogalo

"Lovely." Scorchfeather mewed, keeping back a hiss at the sight of the blue-and-red ShadowClan warrior letting out a hiss of his own. She was surprised when Strangespots, a tom who certainly looked like his name, talked for ShadowClan's grand leader. "And… yes, ThunderClan is thriving. Our forests are filled." She purred, almost mockingly. A rather tense silence followed her words, the Patrol looking at each other.

A scrawny, golden-ginger tom with odd blue patches, a tom who Scorchfeather recognized as Goldensong, padded over towards the red-and-blue tom. Goldensong nudged him and whispered something that made the other tom relax. 'oh for StarClan's sake, are they mates?' (heh. yeah. GoldenBlueMoth baby. we love our polyam relationships.)

Jaystrike cleared his throat and looked at her, "Shall we- uh- get going?" His voice dropped to a whisper. "I need to take Mintpaw to gather moss for the elders…" The ThunderClan molly nodded, "well, StarClan light your paths.. or, whatever…" with that, the battle-scarred ginger she-cat flicked her tail and turned away into ThunderClan's territory.

"What in StarClan's name was that?" Jaystrike began with a grunt as they padded back to camp, Cloudypaw stumbling over a root which made Scorchfeather scoff at her apprentice's clumsiness. "It was like they were going to tear our whiskers off, especially that large black-furred molly." the dark ginger tom finished with a scrunch of his nose.

`
Goldensong looked after the ThunderClan patrol, the way the ginger she-cat had muttered her farewell to them all had made him uneasy. 'Why'd she say "whatever"? does she… not believe in StarClan? or did she mean something else?'

"I'm surprised she didn't leap over the border and start a border skirmish," Blueblaze grumbled, Goldensong let out a nervous chuckle, twitching his tail as he gazed around at the dawn patrol.
His apprentice, Shadowpaw, had followed him when he moved and she looked a little confused. Blueblaze snarled, "If she did, I was prepared to shred into her pelt. She's up to something, that snake-tongued…." Goldensong was quick to nudge his mate, reminding him that their two apprentices were right there beside them. He shut his maw and sighed, looking over at Strangespots and Shadowstar.

'He has such a problem with going off on a string of insults…' Goldensong slowly shook his head but couldn't help but smile. He loved Blueblaze regardless.

Skunkstripe, the former rouge, narrowed her eyes and sniffed. Goldensong had almost forgotten that she was a part of the patrol, the abnormally large she-cat was incredibly quiet and only hung around the nursery and Flamewhisper, it was quite shocking when she had offered to be on the patrol and get out of camp.

Shadowpaw stared after the ThunderClan patrol, paying no mind to her mentor and his mate. She watched as the white and black tom, Flamepaw, disappeared from view. She felt strangely relieved that she didn't have to fight him. It didn't mean anything though, right? She was just nervous about interacting with another clan's patrol… right?

Mintpaw looked at Jaystrike. "We could've handled her if we had to." She said, flicking her tail. "It's just a matter of figuring out what her physical weaknesses are. She's big, so there's a chance of her being slow, despite her obvious strength."

@ZephirFox8812

"We were a little outnumbered, Mintpaw. And that was their leader." Cloudypaw said, jogging to keep up with the taller cats. "I doubt it would have turned into a border fight without cause. ShadowClan isn't beyond reason and many of those warriors seemed very calm and sensible."
(cloudypaw really do be believing in the best in everyone)

"Scorchfeather seems more tactical than impulsive. It's Rainfrost you need to watch out for, jumping the border without warning." Strangespots piped up to advise the younger warriors. "I'm not surprised he isn't on border patrols at the moment." Strangespots tried to stifle a yawn, the two back-to-back patrols finally taking their toll.

@PastelTart

Mintpaw thought for a moment. "Fair enough." She said. "Though that wasn't exactly what I meant."

Shadowpaw glanced at the warriors, making note of Strangespots' warning. She'd heard plenty of things about Rainfrost, none of them good. A fight against him sounded… much less than pleasant. She pitied whatever apprentice was unlucky enough to have him as a mentor.

(bringing WindClan back in)
Crystalpaw huffed as he stood, it was a morning ritual for him and Ashpaw to watch the sunrise as Crystalpaw described it to the blinded tom. "I hope you're happy." He spat pointedly at Stormpaw. It was unlikely the white cat to get aggressive, especially with his fellow apprentices.

He and Ashpaw left the den, Crystalpaw keeping an eye out for Vixenpaw's bright orange pelt in the clearing and through the medicine den entrance. He didn't see him.

Strangespots chuckled, though he was a little more worried than amused. "Those warriors, among others, will be a pawful for Fawnstar. I hope he can manage."

He glanced at the forest around him. The territory had felt off since they had returned. It may just have been the lingering presence of ThunderClan, but that didn't feel like the whole reason. He was hesitant to share his concerns with the other warriors. He knew it was irrational to be scared of what they might think of him. He always felt on edge, like someone was watching him.

@PastelTart

Mistpaw watched Crystalpaw leave, then turned to her brother. "What…just happened?" She asked, concerned. "Did something happen between you and Vixenpaw? And I've never seen Crystalpaw that mad before. Did you guys get in a fight or something?"

@JustALostM book

I would just like to apologize about the formatting on this and also the long wait for this reply— this has just a been a little difficult for me because I'm not used to anything like this 💀💀😭//
I'm on my phone currently because my mom has my Chromebook (which is what I use to reply to you guys) but its been almost two or so weeks since I gave it to her. (she said it's for taxes or something but I don't remember anymore so don't quote me on that—) and I haven't seen it since soooo I think it's safe to say that this might be the norm. I'm so sorry again you guys— //
ANYWAYS!!!! Now onto Stormpaw having a moment bc plot baby 🤩 //

Mistpaw watched Crystalpaw leave, then turned to her brother. "What…just happened?" She asked, concerned. "Did something happen between you and Vixenpaw? And I've never seen Crystalpaw that mad before. Did you guys get in a fight or something?"

Stormpaw shook his head slowly, his head titled downward so that he was looking at the ground in front of his rather ragged looking-nest. He was still bristling slightly, but no longer pushing himself into the floor to make himself look smaller. His fear scent was now faint but still there. The long-haired brown tabby sat quietly, still trying to calm himself down from what had just occurred.
Crystalpaw yelling his ear off didn't help either as Stormpaw was left to sit with his dark, confusing thoughts.

Stormpaw hadn't even realized his sister was trying to talk to him untill she touched him, nudging his shoulder lightly with her paw. Stormpaw looked over at his littermate, with a wide-eyed expression before her realized who it was. Vixenpaw's almost-emotionless gaze burned into his mind.
The WindClan tom blinked, his sister looking at him with confused and concerned eyes, repeating what she had said countless times in an attempt to get his attention.

"Stormpaw? What happened?" She mewed, titling her head slightly, her eyes round with worry as she looked at him. She seemed to be looking at him like that constantly now. "What was that about? Vixenpaw running out like that and Crystalpaw shouting at you? Did you two fight?"

Stormpaw just stared at his sister, unsure of what to do or say. He was still trying to process it all. Wondering why Vixenpaw hadn't attacked him, he was standing over his nest looking down at him with such an expression that is made his pelt prickle and himself shiver. Was that how prey felt being hunted?
Why was Vixenpaw even in such a place? Had he been there for a while? Who else was there beside those traitors? But Vixenpaw wasn't a traitor! He couldn't be! He was apart of prophecy, for StarClan's sake! …but it was also a prophecy that they had fulfilled… They all had brought back ShadowClan in what felt like ages ago.
Was Vixenpaw really a traitor? But it made no sense. How— no– why?

But Crystalpaw was there too, and Berrytail. Two cats he didn't know that well, but well enough where they were his clanmate's. But were they really his clanmates? I mean, they were both in the Dark Forest doing StarClan knows what!
The Dark Forest was now something he now knew wasn't a kitstale anymore… Now that he knew what it was, would he be seeing Violetmask and Ratclaw alongside StarClan warriors like Snowbreeze and Stormtuft?

All these questions made his head spin and feel dizzy.

After a while, Stormpaw spoke, dismissing his sister's question with a tired sounding response. "Don't worry about it, Mistpaw." His ear twitched as he stood up fully, shaking his pelt out. "It… it was nothing."

It definitely hasn't been two and a half weeks since my last response /sar 🤩 //
Also I stg if this messes anything up I'll cry. Also, thank you so much for being patient with me- I keep saying this but I swear that I'm not losing interest in the roleplay. Y'all are so fun to RP with and are helping me fuel my obsession with these battle cats 😭 //

@PastelTart

(All good Spring! <3 You're fun to RP with, too. And take all the time you need!)

Mistpaw fell silent, staring at him for a moment. "Right… if you say so." She forced a smile, turning to leave the den. "I'll see you later, okay?"

@Spring-was-resurrected-electric-boogalo

y'all are too kind :') <3 //

Stormpaw nodded, "Yeah. Barkclaw has some stuff for me too so… See you soon." And with that, he watched his sister leave the Apprentices' Den without another word. He felt bad, he never wanted to lie to her, but it was for her own good. If he handled this the way he was, StarClan knows how Mistpaw would take this situation. Flamepaw was one thing, but Vixenpaw was another. Well, at least Mistpaw was over Flamepaw.

The dark brown tabby was certain that his blue-furred sister would lose her mind if she found out Vixenpaw, the cat that had basically been raised with them their entire life up until now, was training in the Dark Forest. Learning whatever things that had probably tainted his mind.

Left alone in the den, Stormpaw sat there waiting for Barkclaw to call for him. Hoping that whatever he had to do for training would take his mind off of this.

@ZephirFox8812

The sun was just appearing over the horizon when Hawkwillow and the rest of the night patrol stumbled back into camp, their eyes bleary, stifling yawns. The rather perky dawn patrol passed them on the way, mewing happy morning messages. The four cats shuffled into the warrior den, splitting off to their nests, grunting greetings to the other warriors.

Hawkwillow fell sideways into his nest, flopping his head onto his brother's back. "Wake me up at the next full moon, Barky. I'm going to hibernate until then." He whined.

Barkclaw chuckled, shifting to the side so the dark brown tom's head rolled off his back and onto the ground.

"Ngm-" Hawkwillow groaned. He opened one eye and peered at the other warrior. "Don't you have an apprentice to train?" He asked before yawning and almost immediately falling asleep.
