"What? Fuck no! I don't even want to be here. My sister dragged me here." She grumbled, not appreciating his attitude on top of her own bad memories.

Conner sighed, "Sorry," he grumbled, "It's just so fucking loud and I'm trying to write," he explained, "They always do this. Party after party after party. You'd think at some point they'd actually do something useful"

"Yeah, I know. I'm trying to work but they're so damn loud. I'm just waiting for my opportunity to slip away and head back home."

Conner sighed, "I'm trying to find the head of house so I can shut this shit down. I have a quota to meet for my next book and if I don't get it done, I'm gonna have my publisher to answer to. Not to mention a mob of angry fans," he growled, looking at her, "Anyways, I'm Conner. Sorry I was so rude," he held out a hand

She smiled a little and shook it firmly. "Roxanne. Most people just call me Roxie." She blew a piece of hair out of her face. "I just wanna get out of here, I've got a science experiment to work on."

Conner pursed his lips, "There's a cafe over on fourth street that usually is pretty quiet… I was thinking of moving my writing there if you'd like to join?" it was an innocent gesture, no strings attached.

"Sure, I'd be happy to. I just need to grab my laptop." She smiled a little. This was unusual for her, people didn't talk to her like…ever.

Conner nodded, "Me too. My house is just that way," he pointed to the smallest house on the block, simple and minimalist, "Meet out front?" he suggested. Conner was usually shy and slightly irritable. Talking to people at all was completely new. What was happening? Was he getting drunk just from the smell?

"I'm just across the street. I'll see you in a couple minutes." She backtracked into her house, up the stairs, and into her room. She grabbed her laptop and stepped outside again, just waiting on the porch.

Conner slid inside of his house and picked up his own laptop, sliding it into his case and walking out with a soft smile, "It's not far from here, you okay with walking?" he asked, shivering once because of the cold

(okay so barely anyone has hopped in yet but Hakai and Byron are making out, one dude came to complain about the noise, and I think two other people are just watching this go down)

Hakai just nodded as if that was the most normal thing in the world before refilling his punch

Byron meanwhile, never broke off as he refilled his cup with straight Prize Cognac grade Hennessey.
"You OK, darling?" He asked, scoffing internally as he'd accidentally repeated the words Samaeal had said to him so many times during their time together. He shuddered at kissing someone who reminded him so much of Sam.
He grabbed one of Hakai's horns, wrenching it and the demon's head to the side so he could kiss him easier.

Hakai made a noise of surprise when he was yanked by the horn to kiss the guy. He managed to grab onto the dude's arms, keeping himself from falling again

"Nah, it's fine." She shrugged. The cold didn't really bother her, she was used to it at this point.

Conner nodded, shouldering his bag. They walked past the party and a few blocks into the city until they reached a small, quaint coffee shop. Pushing inside, Conner held the door open for her and made his way to his usual table in the back, big enough to fit two people comfortably

She slid into the seat across from him, already opening her laptop to continue working on her science experiment.

Conner pulled his out as well, reopening the document he was working on. His eyes scanned the screen once again to refresh himself, and soon he was back in the zone, his fingers flying over the keyboard as he developed the end to his story

Ryan got up. “Okay. I’m done. I drank way to much.” He started to walk out the door, stumbling, he didn’t care about what was happening, he only came to flirt with someone, and the person he tried to just shoved a bottle of liquor down his throat.

She brushed her hair out of her face and kept working, the screen reflecting off her glasses. Though she did order a coffee to get her through this. "Black, two sugars. Thanks love." Her British accent came out more as she said it. She'd been born and raised in England until she was 8, while she'd suppressed the accent, it came out every once in a while.

Ryan dragged himself out the door, falling on the concrete, he was so wasted he couldn’t even make it to the bus stop or his own car.

Conner looked up, "Oh, I like your accent," he smiled before returing almost instantly to his work, his brow furring again.

She looked up at him, a bit startled. "Oh…thanks." And just like that, the accent was gone. She shook her head and returned to her work.

Ryan was basically dying on the ground, and no one gave two shits. (MY LIFE)

Conner, after a bit, began to see double. He was focusing too much. Abruptly, he shut his computer and rubbed his eyes, trying to wake up. He had to finish this before tomorrow evening

Roxanne was still perfectly awake, sipping her coffee occasionally. All-nighters were normal for her, she hadn't slept in 2 days and felt fine.

Hakai just nodded along, clearly not knowing what the hell was going on but just rolling with it. He was getting kissed, so who cares?
