"Why, thank you, sir," Kasey chuckled as she sat down.
"Why, thank you, sir," Kasey chuckled as she sat down.
He laughed, getting in behind the wheel and buckling his seat belt. “You ready?”
"Yes! I'm ready and very excited," Kasey declared with a grin.
"Good." Barry pulled out of the parking lot, glancing over at her. "You can choose music. Radio, or CDs?"
"Hm… Let's do the radio today," Kasey said as she switched it on and turned it to a good station. She grinned as she heard and old Taylor Swift song play, Love Story. "Gosh, I used to live this song!"
Barry chuckled, resisting the urge to turn away from the road again. "Of course you did. I forgot that you and Taylor Swift were twin princesses with perfect hair," he teased relentlessly.
"Oh, stop," Kasey muttered, her cheeks turning bright red. "We are not…"
"That's what every princess says," Barry told her sweetly before he burst out laughing. "Oh, you are too easy to mess with."
"It's not my fault you like to tease me," Kasey mumbled, still blushing. "And I'm somehow still not used to it…"
"Mm, well, I'm not used to how incredibly stunning you look every day, so, I guess we're even." He grinned.
Kasey hummed as her blush deepened. "Yes, well… Um… Gosh, I have no idea what to say…"
His grin only broadened as he turned a corner. "Should I be flattered that I render you speechless?"
"If you wish…" Kasey sighed. "I just have no idea how to respond to that."
He laughed lightly. "Mm. Erm.. am I going the right way?"
Kasey looked out the window. "Yeah, you are. Turn right at the next stoplight, though. Otherwise, we'll end up driving all night and show up in the next state," she chuckled. "Now, that would be hard to explain…"
Doing as Kasey said, Barry let out a snort. "Road trip! It'd be fun."
"Well, yes, but we'd have to be back by Tuesday. We have a date with Harper and Madeline, remember?" Kasey reminded him with a smile. "But we should definitely do that this summer."
Barry blinked, then nodded excitedly. "That would actually be so much fun."
"And we could go camping," Kasey said, her eyes lighting up at the thought. "I love camping…"
“Same…” he sighed, somewhat wistful. “Used to do it all the time before… yeah. Used to do it a lot.”
Kasey glanced over at him with a soft smile and rested her hand on his knee. "I used to do it a lot, too. My parents would take Harper and I before they died…"
Barry shifted gears to park the car, finally turning his full attention to her. He took her hand in his, pulling her towards her in a soft kiss. "I'm sorry. Let's go this summer? To.. remember?"
"Yeah. I like that idea," Kaswy agreed softly, kissing him back gently. "How long should we go for? Like, a week?"
"Sure, or longer if you want. It's up to you." He brushed a lock of hair behind her ear.
"A week sounds good. Tent or cabin?" Kasey asked, leaning into his touch.
"Again, up to you." Barry kissed her nose lovingly. "Come on, dinner's waiting."
Kasey chuckled a bit and pulled away gently. "All right, all right… Tent, then," she said as she opened her door.
Barry came around the side of the car, taking Kasey's hand with a grin. "Great." He lead her to the front door of the restaurant, where he held the door open.
"Thanks," Kasey said with a smile as she stepped inside.
The restaurant was pretty nice, but it wasn't, like, black tie level. The lights were low, giving the room an almost romantic feel, and tables and booths were spread about the room.
A waitress walked up to them with a smile. "Good evening! Would you two like a table or a booth?"
Barry glanced sideways at Kasey in question. “Uhh booth?”
